Chapter 432: Working Of Mana Generator

What in the w-world...?

The man’s panic spiraled as he was dragged deeper into the territory through the thick mist, Leo’s grip firm around his neck from behind.

The surroundings grew more oppressive with each passing second. The mana density kept rising; he could feel it pressing against his skin. There were numerous unseen threats lurking nearby—eyes on his every movement—yet the mist swallowed everything, leaving him blind.

In his panic, he even forgot the basic introduction he had planned to form a connection with Leo along the way.

And while the man was going through an existential crisis, Leo’s attention was elsewhere.

He was genuinely surprised when he noticed the druid trying to observe the man, only to struggle against the dense mist.

Forest Druid (Mid → High 3-star) - Super Bloodline

Since the day it had been captured, the druid had already advanced through two minor realms.

Leo moved closer to the Fluxsoil Heart, where the mana density was supposed to range between 800%–1500%. Now, however, it remained capped at around 1300% due to Tavian’s arrays continuously absorbing ambient mana.

He constructed a 10-meter-wide circular vine barrier around himself and the man, sealing off the area. The Fluxsoil Heart was deliberately kept outside, hidden from sight. Inside, there was only a single mana crystal waypoint—the workspace for setting up the mana generator.

The reason for placing the generator in a high mana density zone was simple—it relied on ambient mana, concentrating it before storing it into MMCs. If the surrounding mana was insufficient, the generator could never operate at peak efficiency.

But that also created another problem.

"I will need to look for more mana-enriching natural treasures..." Leo muttered under his breath.

The plateau’s mana density had already dropped from its original 300% to around 250%, and with the generator running 24/7, it would likely fall further—perhaps even to 100%. Unlike Tavian’s arrays, which could be throttled or turned inactive, the generator demanded constant operation to fill the MMCs if they were empty, which they would be.

As for the man, the high mana density didn’t shock him much. As an array expert and engineer familiar with mana generators, he had worked in even denser environments.

He barely reacted to the vine wall either. Taking the spatial ring from Leo, he began his work without hesitation.

But while the mana density failed to faze him, the mana generator itself did.

"The 5 million Peak Blue-tier mana generator..." he muttered slowly, disbelief creeping into his voice.

It wasn’t that he lacked experience with such equipment—but never in his wildest dreams had he imagined a newly established territory, especially one owned by a freshman, would possess something of this caliber.

"Wait..."

Reality struck him again—Leo was a fresher. A fresher with a territory like this.

Fuck! This term’s 1st-ranked freshman is scary...

As the setup began, Leo realized the generator wasn’t cuboidal as he had initially imagined. That shape had merely been the result of how its components were packed.

In reality, the structure resembled an array laid into the ground—but instead of the usual flat, 2D formations, this was fully three-dimensional. It had height, depth, and mechanical components intricately woven with mana circuits and magic circles designed to process ambient mana.

When the construction was complete—which took less than half an hour—it covered an 8-meter circular area. A slowly rotating outer mechanical ring surrounded the structure, embedded with numerous socket-like conical holes.

At the center stood a 1-meter-wide suction cup-like structure, visibly pulling in mana from the surroundings. Leo could feel the speed—it was astonishing. His earlier estimate that 100% residual mana would remain now seemed laughable; it would likely drop below 50%.

Beyond the suction core lay a 1.5-meter-wide middle ring compartment, filled with intricate exposed circuits and faintly glowing lines of light.

Next came another 1.5-meter rotating ring, this one lined with nearly 500 sockets. Finally, a thin 10-centimeter outer casing enclosed the rotating structure, embedded with evenly spaced buttons.

"Looks like I’ve got an urgent task on hand now," Leo said, already planning to acquire more natural treasures to replenish the mana density.

Only then did the man begin his explanation.

"The sockets you see in the rotating ring are meant for Modified Mana Crystals."

As a demonstration, he reached into the spatial ring and pulled out one MMC—then paused.

What the fuck? Peak-3-star MMC? And 10 of them...?

At that moment, it truly hit him—Leo had casually spent 9 Million AC just because of a fleeting suggestion to invest in a mana generator and Modified Mana Crystals for long-term savings.

He shook his head, suppressing the urge to react further. There was no point being shocked around this monster anymore.

Taking out an MMC, he pressed a random button on the outer casing. The rotating ring came to a halt with a soft mechanical click.

"You can press any button to stop the ring when inserting MMCs."

He demonstrated as he spoke, placing each crystal carefully into separate sockets.

"These sockets can hold any MMC regardless of size. Even if the crystal is larger than the opening, it doesn’t matter—as long as the lower end makes contact with the compartment for recharging."

Once all the MMCs were placed, he stepped back and pressed another button. The ring began rotating again with a steady hum.

At that moment, Leo felt the central suction core intensify—it actively drew in ambient mana with renewed force.

"Works perfectly fine. Now, you might be wondering why the rotating ring is necessary."

He paused briefly before continuing.

"It’s for heat management. During recharging, mana crystals generate heat. After a certain threshold, even before reaching 70% charge, they can overheat and explode."

He glanced at Leo to emphasize the seriousness.

"And don’t mistake it for a weak blast—it’s even more powerful than an explosion skill of the same rank unleashed by an individual ranked the same as that of the MMC ."

As he spoke, the MMCs began emitting a faint, dull white glow—signalling they had started to recharge.
