Your Beloved Sweetheart Is Online
Chapter 1925 - 1928: The Truth Behind Sheng Sheng’s Departure 11
Qianqian hurriedly ran off, not wanting to be discovered, but she didn’t notice the obstacle behind her. She suddenly fell forward, with a splash, water splashing everywhere, and immediately she gasped, and in the silent world, footsteps quickly approached.
The glass smashed onto the wooden floor, shards flew up, hitting Qianqian’s calf, and then bounced off again.
Qianqian felt a sting like a needle prick and gasped in pain, but she didn’t cry out.
"How are you, Qianqian?" A tall figure loomed over her, then she was lifted up and placed on the sofa.
Chao Lu quickly went to turn on the lights, came back with an unnoticeable frown. He squatted down to look up at her, "Where did you get hurt?"
"I’m fine." Gu Qianqian insisted stubbornly, for she wasn’t the kind of woman who would scream over a little injury.
Blood was seeping from her fair palm, Chao Lu held her hand, speaking with a slight heartache, "And you say you’re fine, it’s bleeding already. You’re not a little girl anymore, scars don’t look good at this age."
Gu Qianqian almost coughed up blood, "Are you saying I’m old?"
Chao Lu’s expression looked startled. Realizing he misspoke, he corrected it with a smile, "That’s not what I meant. Look, you’re such a grown-up and can’t take care of yourself, you should find a man to take care of you."
Qianqian silently blinked for a moment, then bit her lip and said, "Don’t forget I’m a medical student. I don’t need a man to take care of me."
Her voice had a hint of stubbornness.
Chao Lu pretended not to understand her words, with a playful tone, "You mean you want a woman to take care of you? Sorry, I didn’t realize your orientation was—"
Chao Lu deliberately made an enlightened expression, speaking apologetically, and Qianqian’s tongue got tied, quickly retorted, "Why would I want a woman to take care of me? I mean, I’m a doctor myself. What illness can’t I treat? Why would I need someone to take care of me?"
"There are indeed illnesses you can’t treat," Chao Lu raised his eyebrows and said, "Like the difficult one called ’saying one thing but meaning another.’
He said it with intent, and the listener continued to feign ignorance with a light snort.
Qianqian deliberately pouted, her expression falling into Chao Lu’s eyes, looking adorable. He couldn’t help but smile.
"Wait here for me, don’t move."
After saying that, Chao Lu walked out, and moments later she saw him coming back with a small medicine box.
He squatted beside her, opened the box, and took out alcohol and cotton swabs, skillfully cleaning the shards of glass from her palm. Fortunately, there weren’t many pieces embedded, so it wasn’t too serious; he quickly disinfected it for her.
He then unexpectedly noticed that her foot was also bleeding from scraping the skin during the fall.
Qianqian saw that he was about to stick a band-aid on her beautiful leg and quickly shook her head to dodge, "Don’t stick it, it’s hideous! This wound is nothing!"
"It needs to be stuck!"
Chao Lu’s voice was deep and brooked no opposition.
"Just dab some mercurochrome on it."
Qianqian silently protested, shooting him a look, but Chao Lu successfully stuck the band-aid on her foot, stood up feeling relaxed, and tidied up the medicine box, placing it aside.
"I’ll get you a nicer band-aid tomorrow."
"......." Hearing this, Qianqian was at a loss, caught between laughter and tears, grudgingly accepting the ugly band-aid on her foot, withdrew her beautiful leg, and playfully kicked at him, "Can’t you really bring Sheng Sheng home? He’s so little, and has never been away from his family. Children need time to adjust."
