Xuanwu War Sovereign
Chapter 29 - 28: Beast Language
The Wind Realm has many branches, including the Gale Realm, the Clear Wind Realm, the Hurricane Realm, the Freedom Realm, among others.
This time, Qin Feng’s epiphany concerned insights into the Clear Wind Realm. Coupled with the Gale Realm he had comprehended previously, he had now grasped two branches of the Wind Realm.
What delighted Qin Feng the most was that this unexpected epiphany had solidified his foundation, which had become somewhat unstable from consuming too many Elixirs.
His Qi and Blood were perfectly integrated and flawless, and he had truly reached the Martial Arts Third Heaven Great Perfection Realm.
A faint smile of joy graced Qin Feng’s face. Under the sun, his figure was tall and slender, straight as a sword. He stretched his long arms, extending a slender, fair palm into the sunlight. His long, slim fingers seemed to emit a faint, jade-like luster.
A light seemed to dance in his eyes, a flash of captivating brilliance.
He was strikingly handsome, his face like fine jade, his figure elegant. His every move was infinitely graceful, like a jade tree standing in the wind, a sight that made one forget the mundane world.
If anyone saw him now, it would be impossible to associate him with the scrawny, sickly youth who had been lying in bed just half a month ago.
Gazing at the sky, Qin Feng thought to himself, ’Martial Arts Third Heaven Great Perfection at fifteen years old... that should be considered quite outstanding even in the Qin Family. That so-called genius they hype up to the heavens, Qin Fang, the one they call the Revival Lord of the Qin Family, is only at the Martial Arts Third Heaven Great Perfection Realm himself!’
’And I, Qin Feng, am a few months younger than Qin Fang. If I were to go charging back right now, I bet those Elders on the Qin Family’s Elder Council would have their eyes pop out of their sockets!’
Qin Feng chuckled, murmuring to himself with a leisurely air, "I’d really love to see the looks on those Elders’ faces when they see their precious hope, their Revival Lord, crushed under my heel! I bet it would be absolutely fascinating!"
He waved his arm, pushing out a light, fluttering palm strike. And yet, the air vibrated violently, and overlapping Palm Seals appeared, as if hundreds of hands were striking out at once, causing a series of furious explosions in the air.
Only when a certain threshold of speed is reached can afterimages be left in the air!
’After this epiphany, I could probably even take on a Martial Artist at the Martial Arts Fifth Heaven,’ Qin Feng mused.
Next, he needed to comprehend Qi Sensing, condense his Inner Breath, and strive to step into the Martial Arts Fourth Heaven.
Qin Feng knew this required the right timing. To comprehend Qi Sensing, one first had to adjust their essence, qi, and spirit to their absolute peak state—to break through only after being pushed to the brink!
He needed a battle. Only under the pressure of a life-and-death struggle could he unleash his greatest potential. Only in the midst of a fierce clash could the most brilliant sparks be born.
When Qi and Blood roiled, that was the moment Qi Sensing would be at its strongest!
Of course, there was another option, but it was one Qin Feng disdained. This method relied on meditation, sitting in stillness, and Zen contemplation; in a state of extreme quietude, one would practice breathing techniques to temper the internal organs and nurture Qi Sensing.
This method had many restrictions. First, one had to purify their mind and quell their desires, eliminate all external distractions, suppress emotional fluctuations as much as possible, practice abstinence, and follow various other taboos.
Moreover, this method relied on one’s comprehension ability, or rather, one’s luck. With good luck, you could grasp Qi Sensing immediately. With bad luck, it wasn’t unheard of to be stuck at this hurdle for several years, or even decades.
Take Qin Fang, for example, hailed as a heaven-gifted talent of the Qin Family. He had reached Martial Arts Third Heaven Perfection long ago, yet a year had passed, and he was still firmly stuck at the Peak of the Martial Arts Third Heaven, unable to grasp Qi Sensing. He had been unable to enter the Martial Arts Fourth Heaven for some time.
"So, what I need next is a fight!" Qin Feng smiled faintly. Suddenly, his eyes shifted. Looking down from the mountainside, he saw countless birds startling and taking flight from the jungle below.
"Have they finally chased me all the way here?" There was no surprise in his eyes, just a sly chuckle. "Just when I was feeling sleepy, someone shows up with a pillow!"
With a flicker of his body, he vanished from the cave like a Spiritual Serpent, reappearing at the foot of the mountain half an incense stick’s time later. His figure was like lightning, his leaps like flight. He landed on a rock, his gaze sharp with killing intent as he scanned his surroundings. Behind him was a towering mountain peak, high and densely forested. He was surrounded by a lush jungle, and before him, birds and beasts scattered in panic.
He narrowed his eyes slightly, staring at the area where the birds and beasts had been startled. With a cold, sly sneer, his figure flashed and disappeared behind a large greenstone.
In less than a quarter of an hour, the RUSTLE RUSTLE of footsteps came from a hundred or so paces away, and several figures flickered into view near the green rock.
Behind a boulder, Qin Feng watched the four newcomers with a cool gaze. All four were dressed in tight-fitting martial attire, and every one of them possessed the strength of the Martial Arts Fourth Heaven!
’The Law Enforcement Hall!’ His eyes narrowed as he immediately noticed the bared-fang, brandished-claw silver-white Evil Flood Dragon embroidered on their martial attire.
This was the symbol of the Qin Family’s Law Enforcement Hall. The Law Enforcement Hall was an important branch of the Qin Family, comprised of elite disciples who administered the family’s laws. Only the mainstays of the Martial Arts Fourth Heaven were qualified to enter.
Within the Qin Family, the Law Enforcement Hall held a transcendent status, answering only to the Patriarch. It was a branch associated with bloodshed and misfortune; nearly everyone feared them, and their appearance never signaled anything good.
In an instant, Qin Feng knew he was probably in big trouble this time. The elites of the Law Enforcement Hall were not comparable to the ordinary Qin Family disciples he had been able to ambush and kill so easily. No one who made it into the Law Enforcement Hall was a pushover; they were all battle-hardened veterans.
The flow of their auras was flawless, their stepping technique was unhurried, and as they looked around, their eyes glinted with vigilance. They exuded a suppressive, hostile energy, and one glance was enough to tell they were the kind who had stained their hands with blood and killed countless people.
’These four are definitely formidable enemies!’ As Qin Feng mulled this over, the four men scanned their surroundings, their eyes gleaming. One of them’s ears twitched slightly, and he spoke in a low, hoarse voice.
"This should be the place. He stopped here a day ago!"
Another man asked doubtfully, "Are you sure?"
The first man’s eyes glinted sharply as he stared at the surroundings with vigilance. In his hoarse voice, he said, "You still don’t trust me? I’ve been proficient in the language of beasts since I was a child. I can understand what birds and animals say. Just now, I heard some birds discussing that someone was living on the mountain and had taken over a cave-dwelling mountain bear’s den!"
The second speaker gave an awkward laugh, having heard the dissatisfaction in the first man’s voice. He quickly whispered, "Then listen again and find out where he is now!"
Hiding behind the greenstone, Qin Feng was startled to overhear their conversation, and his mind raced.
’This man actually has such a rare gift? He can understand the language of birds and beasts? To think the Qin Family has such a capable person!’
Then Qin Feng’s heart skipped a beat as he cursed inwardly. ’If this guy can understand birds and beasts, then doesn’t that mean my movements are...?’ He looked up and, sure enough, saw ants crawling on the green rock not far away and birds flapping their wings overhead.
The next moment, the man’s gaze indeed fell upon his hiding spot. Pointing at the large greenstone where he was concealed, the man shouted, "Everyone, be careful! He’s behind the greenstone!"
