There were screams and roars echoing out around the hall as the animals were let loose.

And as though their work was done, the thugs that had been fighting around me suddenly just picked up their things and started running out of there.

They were even dragging along the corpses of their comrades and the equipment that they had dropped, as though they were making sure that they did not leave behind any evidence for people to connect this back to them.

I wanted to stop them but the animals were rushing out of their enclosures and growling at the people around them which made them a much bigger threat than these thugs.

I leapt away from them and called out to my girls, "Do your best to protect the guests!! Guide them to a safe area!!"

The fact that my girls, who would even face down a horde of enemies that outnumber them ten to one, were looking out at the animals that were released with fear, was definitely something that I found ironic.

Now... I’m not even sure whether Yuki was right about me being a Biotamer but if I wasn’t... We’d all be screwed right now.

At the very least, I know that the dogs and the turtle will obey me so that’s at least those threats we didn’t need to worry about.

I didn’t want my identity to be revealed here so I had Renata transform the dress into a different set of clothing as well as a mask that hid my face, using the chaos around me to hide my transformation.

I then leapt up onto one of the exhibits before sucking in a breath and shouting out loud, "All animals listen to me! Stop!!!"

Honestly, I wasn’t really expecting this to work at all... But when my voice echoed around the room, more than half of the creatures that had been rampaging around suddenly stopped in their tracks to turn towards me.

At a glance, it seems like all the creatures that have obeyed my words were all creatures that I recognise to have originated from Earth.

The creatures that were alien to me completely ignored me and were just continuing their rampage across the hall.

Hmm... I wonder if I could...

"All of you, work together to get the others back to their enclosures!!"

The animals let out their own cries before they surged forward and started going after the alien creatures that had ignored my command instead of the people around the room.

The chaos became organised chaos as the animals broke off into groups on their own and started corralling the other creatures away from the people.

I got to watch the snowy owl from before dive towards some kind of worm creature three times its size, picking it up easily in its talons before flying back towards what I assumed was the worm’s original enclosure to drop it back inside.

The only problem was that the power was still down so there was nothing stopping the worm from crawling back out again.

I clucked my tongue in annoyance and leapt over to where Yuki was, the CEO trying to coordinate her security while her three golden retrievers were standing beside her protectively, the three of them letting out friendly barks when they saw me.

"Hey?! Don’t you have a backup generator or something that can get the enclosures back online?!" I demanded.

She probably knew it was me since she didn’t ask who I was and simply answered, "They sabotaged it as well, I’ve already sent someone to get it back online but it will take a while."

"Too slow. Ries!! Ries!!"

My catgirl immediately rushed her way towards me, "I’m here, Boss!!"

"Get to the generators and get them back online. Have Yuki send someone to guide you there!"

She gave me a cute salute while I returned to managing the chaos in the hall.

Thankfully, my girls did a pretty good job moving the guests to a safe part of the hall where they were now being evacuated through another door and away from the creatures.

Since the enclosures weren’t able to contain the creatures yet... I need a change of plans.

"Work together to restrain them if you can! Hold them down while the generators are still coming back online!!"

All of the animals let out their own cries of acknowledgement as they shifted their tactics to adapt to my order.

One of the alien creatures which was shaped like some kind of insect crossed with a lizard came flying towards me, its claws reaching out in an attempt to slash at me.

I was prepared to smack it down with my halberd to disable it since I figured it wouldn’t be a good idea to just kill them... But I didn’t even need to do anything as an eagle came flying down from the air to crash itself against it.

The insect then fell towards the ground with the eagle flaring its wings to avoid falling after it, right before it let out a shriek.

I then got to watch a rhino charge straight into the falling insect-lizard and ram it with the side of its head, sending the creature flying straight into an exhibit and knocking it out.

Looking around, I found a dog barking at the snapping turtle which prompted the turtle to amble over towards an alien creature that looked like a rock formation that was currently in a wrestling match against a bear.

The turtle went ahead to ram itself against the rock alien, knocking it off its feet and allowing the bear to throw the creature to the ground.

The bear even gave the turtle a nod as though acknowledging it before it went ahead to toss the unconscious rock creature into another enclosure.

The same eagle from earlier then dove down to screech at them which prompted both the bear and the turtle to start moving in different directions, both of them heading to where other alien creatures were currently fighting against the Earth animals to back them up.

Wait a minute... Correct me if I’m wrong but... Are they actually working together?

I mean... Like they were actually coordinating with each other instead of just lashing out instinctively... Almost like they were a trained group of soldiers...

That’s... I don’t want to say impossible but... That’s certainly something I did not expect to witness...

If they were the same species, I could at least explain it but that was obviously not the case here.

Yet I’m watching a snowy owl peck at a rat-insect hybrid from above while a dog lashed out at it from below in perfect coordination.

Beside them was a lioness biting down on the leg of a creature that reminded me of a velociraptor except with a chicken’s head, while a gorilla was holding it by its neck to stop it from biting both of them.

And a large alien creature that had the shape of a giant bipedal lizard found itself being surrounded by a dog, the snapping turtle, a rhino and even an elephant.

The turtle was focused on taunting it and getting it to attack it while the other three found opportunities to leap in to attack at the lizard, slowly wearing it down before it got trampled down by the rhino and turtle.

I also realised that they even assigned the eagle to fly above me as though to act as a guard, the bird constantly circling over my head and diving down to knock away any of the alien creatures that tried to attack me.

I think the fight only continued for about half an hour before the lights finally came back on, signalling the power had been restored.

"Get them into their enclosures, now!" I ordered, leaping off my vantage point to start closing up the enclosures of the creatures that have already been contained.

In no time at all, the rest of the alien creatures were secured and only earth animals remained.

That was when all of them congregated around me to surround me.

I had a moment where I wondered if they were going to attack me as well until one of the dogs, a german shepherd, came up to pant at me with its tail wagging behind it.

Ah... Ok... They all want head pats I see...

Well then...

I went ahead to go around patting all of them one by one, making sure each of them got my thanks for helping out with this and enjoying all the fluff and cuteness from each of the animals.

After getting their pats from me, all of them obediently returned to their own enclosures and allowed themselves to be contained again.

Yuki came up to me, a complicated look on her face.

"Who... Who are you, Miss Tera?"

I shrugged, "I’m just a Merc you hired for this job."

She was obviously unsatisfied by my answer but it wasn’t like I had a better answer for this anyway...

Putting that aside... I think you should go check on your guests...
