Upon hearing this, the person in black clothes and a matching mask showed no hint of expression, but Lin Kuang could feel a surge of anger emanating from them. š•—š•£šžšžš˜„šžšš‹šš—š—¼š˜ƒš—²š—¹.ššŒš• šš–

"What’s wrong? Are you angry?" Lin Kuang said with a laugh. "When you decide to kill people, you should expect to be killed in return, shouldn’t you?" As he spoke, he activated the Willow Catkin Technique, his body becoming a blur as he moved at his utmost limit, like a ghost in the dead of night charging straight for the assassin.

Seeing this, the black-clad figure shot backward, their pitch-black longsword moving to block Lin Kuang’s Nameless.

CLANG!

The sharp sound of metal on metal rang out. However, to Lin Kuang’s surprise, the assassin’s pitch-black longsword wasn’t even nicked. This was highly unusual.

How could Nameless, being so sharp, fail to chip the opponent’s sword? Could it be that the sword in their hand is comparable to Nameless?

Feeling a little indignant, Lin Kuang pressed his advantage, the Nameless in his hand a flurry of rapid strikes against the assassin before him. However, his opponent was equally formidable, especially with the dark longsword they wielded. It had clashed with Nameless countless times, yet it remained completely unscathed.

Seeing this, a hint of solemnity touched Lin Kuang’s expression. It wasn’t that he was afraid of this woman; rather, the sword in her hand was truly remarkable, definitely on par with his Nameless!

"Nice sword!" Lin Kuang couldn’t help but exclaim in admiration.

"You’re despicable!" the black-clad figure snapped, her voice laced with anger.

Of course, the most surprising thing for Lin Kuang wasn’t that the assassin had spoken, but that her voice confirmed she was a woman! Judging by the sound of it, she wasn’t very old, likely in her early twenties.

"A woman?" Lin Kuang couldn’t help but ask. He had never before met a woman whose skills were on his level. This was a first!

"What about it? You’re the one who’s despicable!" the woman retorted. She attacked again, her dark longsword dancing with formidable strength.

Lin Kuang felt a pang of frustration. "I said, ’nice sword,’ not that you’re despicable!"

"Still insulting me? I’ll kill you!" Hearing his words, the woman only grew angrier, her attacks becoming even more ferocious.

Lin Kuang was on the verge of tears. All I did was compliment your sword. Do you really have to misunderstand me so completely?

Of course, he couldn’t be bothered to explain further. She was here to assassinate him, after all. There was no need for excessive conversation. With that thought, his feet danced with the Willow Catkin Technique while his hands brandished the Antelope Hanging Horn Sword Technique, fully unleashing his powerful combat abilities.

This woman in black was indeed strong, but she was still a slight cut below Lin Kuang.

They fought for a full ten minutes without a clear winner, though it was obvious the woman was struggling to keep up. Her swordsmanship grew noticeably erratic and her attacks lost their edge, shifting primarily to defense.

"Bastard! We’ll see about this!" With that, the woman in black retreated, turning to flee swiftly down the road.

Seeing this, why would Lin Kuang possibly let her escape? He immediately activated the Willow Catkin Technique and gave chase.

"If you have the guts, then don’t run! Let’s see how I take care of you!" Lin Kuang yelled after her.

The woman completely ignored him and sprinted desperately ahead, but the gap between them was steadily closing.

"Now, now, don’t run," Lin Kuang said with a smile, his tone deliberately infuriating. "You can run, but you can’t hide. Sooner or later, I’ll catch you."

The woman gritted her teeth, seething with a fury she couldn’t act upon, knowing she was no match for him. Meanwhile, Lin Kuang’s mouth never stopped, his taunts rattling on like a string of firecrackers.

Finally, the woman in black couldn’t take it anymore. "Bastard, shut your mouth!" she shrieked. With a roar, she spun around abruptly, her pitch-black sword thrusting straight for the space between Lin Kuang’s eyebrows.

"See? I told you that you couldn’t escape. You were bound to come back sooner or later. Look how obedient you are," Lin Kuang said with a grin, his Nameless sword dancing to parry the blow. His demeanor was exceptionally aggravating.

The woman gritted her teeth, wishing she could kill him with a single stroke. This bastard was just too infuriating. However, she simply couldn’t kill Lin Kuang. After another brief skirmish, she was forced to retreat in frustration, with Lin Kuang once again hot on her heels.

In this manner, they fought and fled, stopping and starting, until the sky began to brighten with the dawn. By then, they had run all the way to a wooded area in the suburbs, a testament to the incredible distance they had covered.

"Bastard, are you still chasing me?!" the woman yelled, utterly incensed. She had never met someone so persistent. He was clinging to her relentlessly, and it was becoming unbearable.

"You tried to kill me, so why wouldn’t I chase you?" Lin Kuang replied with a smile. "It looks like you don’t have much energy left. I’ll catch you sooner or later."

Though he said that, Lin Kuang was also extremely shocked. He had the innate ability to maintain his Peak State indefinitely, so he was fearless. This woman, however, could not. Yet, every time her speed seemed to falter, she would use some sort of secret technique to suddenly surge forward. How could he not be surprised?

At this moment, the woman in black was so frustrated she could vomit blood. My True Qi is almost depleted, with only enough left to stimulate my acupoints for one more burst of strength. But even if I could do it ten more times, I wouldn’t be able to shake off Lin Kuang. What’s more, after all this time, he doesn’t seem to have expended any stamina at all, constantly maintaining his Peak State. This is just absurd!

Her thoughts whirling, the woman finally ran out of strength. She leaned heavily against a large tree, pulled off her mask, and gasped for deep breaths of the fresh air.

When she removed her mask, Lin Kuang was momentarily stunned. She was an absolutely beautiful woman. At least, her face was perfect, a true Top Grade beauty, which genuinely surprised him.

"Well, well. It turns out to be a beauty. Tsk tsk, this is truly unexpected," Lin Kuang said with a smile, slowly approaching her while remaining vigilant in case she tried any tricks.

Hearing him, the woman shot Lin Kuang a disdainful look. "Hmph, coward. Weren’t you going to catch me? Come on, then."

"Of course, but don’t be in such a hurry," Lin Kuang replied, his gaze still fixed cautiously on her.

Just as he came within three meters of her, the seemingly weak woman suddenly made her move. Her feet pushed powerfully against the tree behind her, launching her forward. Her pitch-black sword pointed straight at Lin Kuang’s throat in a desperate attempt to end his life with one final strike.

If this strike failed, she would be utterly finished. The last dregs of her True Qi were only enough to power this one final blow.
