Chapter 417: The Kingdom of Gods

Elune opened the long-sealed gates of the Island of God for everyone,

and the truth of the "God-Slaying Covenant" sleeping within the Thousand Tower Forest was about to emerge.

Facing the encirclement of Ancient Star Lords, evil gods, and Otherworldly Observers,

Bai Cheng discovered that ❀ Nоvеlігht ❀ (Don’t copy, read here) the Emerald Sea was actually the last lost fragment of the "Lord of the Sky's" authority,

and the so-called covenant was, in fact, a second trial spanning ten thousand years.

The spires of the Thousand Tower Forest pierced through the eternal golden glow of the drifting clouds, like countless pale fingers pointing silently toward the firmament.

The dawn glided slowly along the golden route paved by Elune's wings of light, entering the final ruins of this Kingdom of Gods.

A peculiar silence permeated the air.

It wasn't an empty void, but an absolute tranquility where ten thousand subtle sounds were magnified to the extreme and then canceled each other out:

the wail of the wind passing through the hollow carvings of the towers, the clear chime of mist condensing and dripping between stone crevices, and... a massive, slow pulse buried deep underground.

"Detected high concentration of divine residue; law activity is over seven hundred times that of the White Sea."

Leng Ningxue's voice rang out within the bridge, her icy eyes reflecting a frantically refreshing stream of data.

"Warning: Multiple hidden spatial folds detected. Internal energy reactions... share 17.3% homology with the Emerald Sea's star track network."

"Homologous?" Bai Cheng turned abruptly.

"Yes." Leng Ningxue pulled up a comparison chart, where emerald and pale gold energy ripples overlapped in the void.

"Although the manifestations differ, the underlying law coding logic is highly similar.

The star tracks of the Emerald Sea were likely born from some prototype here."

Elune floated ahead of the bow, her white robes fluttering slightly in the silent airflow.

"Your perception is sharp." She did not look back, her voice transmitting directly into everyone's hearts.

"The Emerald Sea was originally formed when the largest fragment fell into the mortal world after the Lord of the Sky's authority shattered.

The star tracks you built merely unintentionally awakened the memories sleeping deep within the fragment."

Zi Yuan's fingertips unconsciously brushed against the hilt of her blade. "So we were able to reforge the star tracks not because of luck..."

"It is because you inherited the legacy of the sky from the beginning." Elune finally looked back, the weight of ten thousand years settled in her golden pupils.

"This is also why the God-Slaying Covenant has never stopped coveting the Emerald Sea.

What they need is precisely this last and most critical fragment to complete the Root Authority necessary to rewrite history."

Before she could finish, a ripple of silver light like water suddenly spread from the base of the tallest and most magnificent Central White Tower deep within the Thousand Tower Forest.

Wherever the silver light passed, intricate runes simultaneously lit up on the bodies of hundreds of surrounding white towers.

The light did not radiate outward but collapsed inward, weaving into a giant net that covered the sky above the forest.

At each node of the grid, a slowly rotating singular rune emerged.

Some looked like stars, some like eyes, and some like incomprehensible geometric fractures.

"They are awake," Elune said softly, her twelve wings of light suddenly retracting and transforming into a suit of light armor with a pale gold halo covering her body.

"Or rather... they never truly slept."

Boom!!!

The top of the Central White Tower exploded!

It wasn't masonry flying apart; instead, space itself was torn like silk, revealing a deep rift with edges flowing with iridescent foam.

Five figures stepped out from the rift, standing suspended in mid-air.

On the far left, one wore a dark red cloak with three intersecting star rings floating above his head. His face was shrouded in shifting shadows, with only cold blue flames burning where his eyes should be.

Star-Chaser Kalibo, one of the three Star Lords in the covenant, wielding the Authority of Orbit Tampering.

Second from the left, a form constantly shifted between thick black sludge and a blurred humanoid shape. Countless agonizingly twisted faces bobbed within the sludge, emitting never-ending wails.

Vajis, the Maw of Devoured Memories, an ancient evil god who feeds on the memories of civilizations.

The one in the center was the most bizarre.

It had no fixed form, appearing more like a mass of silver liquid mirrors that constantly observed and replicated itself.

Countless tiny mirror fragments made up its body, each reflecting a different scene:

the birth of the sea of stars, the rise and fall of civilizations, fragments of trial scenes... the otherworldly observer, Thousand Faces.

Second from the right was a massive suit of armor assembled from rusted metal and the bones of unknown creatures. Dark green soul-fire flickered in the helmet's eye sockets.

It held a broken giant scythe that still emitted an ominous aura of curses.

Morde, the Rusted Bone Lord, another ancient evil god presiding over decay and the end.

On the far right was an old acquaintance of Bai Cheng and the others.

Mirror Heart Star Lord Seras.

But the Seras before them was completely different from the soul fragment on the Sky Island.

His body was whole, his long silver hair moved without wind, his eyes were a pure, lightless ink-black, and a chillingly cold smile played at the corners of his mouth.

He held a constantly flipping crystal prism in his hand, each face reflecting a different future prospect: the fall of the Emerald Sea, the collapse of Bai Cheng's Emperor Status, the star tracks being forcibly extracted and tampered with...

"Seras..." Qingniao squeezed the name through her teeth, "You really are a traitor!"

"Traitor?" Seras's voice was steady and emotionless.

"No. I simply chose a more efficient solution when the scales of judgement could not provide an answer.

History needs to be corrected; errors need to be erased.

Including that failed trial itself."

"Efficiency?" Bai Cheng took a step forward, the Sword of Conviction already in her hand, as the six Star Lord Marks lit up one by one.

"Efficiency at the cost of betrayal, slaughter, and tampering?"

"Cost?" Star-Chaser Kalibo's blue-flamed eyes flickered, his voice sounding like the grinding of countless gears.

"When the Lord of the Sky fell, seven hundred and twenty thousand souls in The Divine Nation were buried with him—that was the cost.

We are merely cleaning up an erroneous node that should never have existed."

Vajis, the Maw of Devoured Memories, let out a gurgling laugh mixed with the sound of drowning:

"Such sweet anger... such fresh memories... the Emerald Sea, the Lei Hai Floating Island, and the divine imprints you just obtained... all will become a part of me..."

"Probability of negotiation is lower than 0.01%."

Leng Ningxue's icy gaze locked onto the five individuals. "Energy levels all reach or exceed the peak of a Star Lord. Recommendation: Use the Thousand Tower Forest environment for mobile defense and search for—"

Her words were interrupted.

The silver mirrored body of the otherworldly observer, Thousand Faces, suddenly rippled.

All the fragments turned toward the dawn simultaneously, reflecting not the outside world, but the most terrifying images from deep within the hearts of everyone on board:

Zi Yuan saw her blade shatter and all her friends and family perish; Qingniao witnessed the lightning extinguish as she fell into silent darkness;

Lu Duo's Emerald Radiance withered into ash; Yu Nian's vines turned into venomous snakes and bit back;

Leng Ningxue's data stream disintegrated into gibberish;

And Bai Cheng...

Bai Cheng saw the Emerald Sea sinking in a dark red tide, the star tracks snapping one by one.

She knelt in the ruins, her hands cupping the extinguished emperors imprint, with the cold corpses of her companions behind her.
