The Whole Internet is Shipping Me with My Ex-Boyfriend
Chapter 485: Fresh Strawberries, My Treat
The number of people enjoying the cool air by the shore is increasing.
The wind blowing slowly from the sea tangled the strands of hair beside Gu Yuan’s ear, wrapping around her delicate and high nose, and the night merged perfectly with her beauty.
Soon, as the breeze passed, the sea surface that was just now churning gradually quieted, leaving only layers of water ripples of varying thickness.
"What you just said, did you really mean it?" Chi Yu asked her. "As long as I jump, you will forgive me."
Gu Yuan glanced sideways. When she saw Chi Yu asking with such seriousness whether what she had said just now was true, she knew Chi Yu had taken her casual words to heart.
"Are you really going to jump?" she asked.
His gaze was so determined.
At this moment, for him, all that was needed was her nod... Or, no nod was needed, Gu Yuan’s expression changed, and she called out sternly—"Chi Yu, don’t you dare!!"
Watching him take a few steps towards the shore, almost about to leap at any moment, in an instant, Gu Yuan, reacting quickly, stepped forward and grabbed Chi Yu: "Are you crazy!"
Chi Yu knew she would come to pull him back. Seeing her so anxious and worried, he didn’t feel a secret joy inside, but his voice became even deeper: "I’m not crazy. I’m so clear-headedly obeying all your demands and commands, including living and dying for you."
Gu Yuan’s heart shook suddenly.
She knew Chi Yu loved her, but she had overlooked the fact that he could effortlessly go mad, die, and give up everything for her without needing to think.
And what was she doing?
She was actually amusing herself with his love because of her bad mood.
"Chi Yu..." Gu Yuan gazed into his deeply affectionate eyes; her voice was somewhat hoarse, but clear: "You can only live for me, absolutely not die for me."
He promised her: "Alright."
The next second, he took two steps back.
Knocked by Gu Yuan.
She threw herself into his arms, causing his body to involuntarily step back two steps. Once steadied, he extended his arms to embrace her back.
"Chi Yu." She wrapped her arms tightly around his waist, calling him Chi Yu.
He responded: "Mm."
One hand lay across her back, and one palm covered the back of her head, a highly possessive posture.
"From now on, I’ll just call you Chi Yu, okay?" she said.
"Alright. Whatever name you wish to call me, that’s what I’ll be, even if it’s Tom or Jerry."
The little woman in his embrace felt so dependent that it seemed unreal to him.
He always felt this beauty was his imagination.
As for why he was called Chi Yu, he didn’t plan to ask her. He wanted to wait until he remembered everything with her.
Isn’t it so important, why entirely forget? He was not willing to let their past be forgotten like that; Chi Yu was the starting point and also the endpoint, with nothing missing in between.
...
At Lover’s Harbour, a pair of lovers embraced.
The fireworks were ordinary, but I’d be willing to give you the stars and the Milky Way, along with all my love.
Gu Yuan now had many words she wanted to say to Chi Yu, including some of their past. She herself was unsure whether to mention those things, afraid that if he really regained his memory, Chi Yu would truly return.
Does painful stuff really have to happen again?
"Chi Yu, why don’t you ask me anything?" she said, holding onto Chi Yu’s arm as they stood by the shore, admiring the night view on the other side, dazzling and charming. Sydney is indeed beautiful.
Chi Yu’s silence told Gu Yuan he didn’t want to know too much.
"You found out about some things between my mother and me from Sheng Yi, didn’t you?" she said.
Chi Yu didn’t deny it, responding with a hum, but didn’t say much other than that.
Gu Yuan’s mood had improved a lot. Even if she thought about Wen Fei again, it wouldn’t feel that painful. Nevertheless, the wound was opened, pus pressed out, blood flowed, and yet it would still remain a scar, fading, but never disappearing.
"You used to know all about what happened between my mom and me." she said.
Chi Yu was slightly stunned, remaining silent for a few seconds, and then spoke with his voice notably low: "But I accidentally forgot it all."
Gu Yuan comforted him: "It’s not your fault, it’s mine."
Chi Yu looked at her.
Suddenly realizing this wasn’t the place to speak too much, the memories between them were too much, not something that could be fully recounted in a few words, including the grievances between her and Wen Fei.
Gu Yuan held Chi Yu’s hand tightly, and he freed up another hand to smooth the tresses beside her ear: "In the future, I will always be by your side."
Gu Yuan rarely used that childish tone to speak:
"You must keep your word; if you lie, you’ll be struck by lightning."
Chi Yu bent slightly, planting a kiss on her forehead: "Yuanyuan, from now on every word I say to you will count."
