Once they cooled down enough, the Ruanlin Family finally allowed the two wolves and one person to start, and Jiaojiao cautiously took a small bite. The crispy taste made her give a thumbs-up. "Grandma, it’s really delicious."

"If you like it, have more. Later, send a plate over to your godmother and the Shen Family next door," the Ruanlin Family said.

"Should we send some to the Shen Family too?" Jiaojiao asked while eating. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

"Yes, the Shen Family is nice. Those cherries you ate some days ago were sent by them, so expensive, from their car. We’re neighbors; we should learn to reciprocate, you know?"

"Okay." Jiaojiao nodded, picked up another one, and said, "I’ll go deliver them later. And Grandma, those are called cherries."

Rou Rou and Xiaoxue ate piece by piece. Rou Rou, upon finishing, used his large paws to grab more which the Ruanlin Family had placed by the stove, always making sure his little wife Xiaoxue ate first before he continued.

With a small appetite, Jiaojiao couldn’t eat much. After finishing two large ones made by the Ruanlin Family, she couldn’t eat any more. When she carried the moss cakes to deliver, Rou Rou and Xiaoxue were still eating, but as soon as Jiaojiao headed out, Xiaoxue immediately followed her while Rou Rou didn’t want to move, preferring to eat. However, recalling Duan Xi’s instructions from this period, he reluctantly grabbed two in his mouth and waddled after her.

Jiaojiao, holding a small basket, first headed to the Lu Family. Their door was wide open. As Jiaojiao walked in, she called out, but after a while, nobody responded. Thinking no one was home, she set down the plate and was about to leave. Turning around, a familiar male voice came from upstairs, "Jiaojiao."

Following the sound, Jiaojiao looked up and saw Lu Xian standing at the top of the stairs. Somewhat surprised, she asked, "Brother Lu? When did you come back?"

"Last night, it was too late so I didn’t inform you," Lu Xian said with a smile, looking at the increasingly beautiful girl. Though he knew he should have cut off these feelings long ago, emotions were never easy to control. He could only indulge himself in gazing at her with near infatuation.

"Is that so? Well, Brother Lu, let’s chat later. I need to head to the Shen Family to deliver some food now. Grandma cooked these moss cakes, eat them while they’re hot." Jiaojiao nodded, eager to deliver the other plate, then turned to leave.

"Wait, I’ll go with you," Lu Xian said while coming downstairs, casually picking up a moss cake from the table in the living room, eating while taking the other basket from her hands. "Why are you alone? That kid isn’t with you?"

"Brother Duan went to school; he’s busy finishing university graduation exams before next semester, so he’s very occupied these days."

"Next semester?" Lu Xian was shocked. "Next semester you guys would only be in second year, right?"

"Yes, so his schedule is very tight."

"..." Lu Xian said, "That kid is a freak, isn’t he?" From what he knew, even Ruan Hao took over two years back then, but this guy seems to plan to complete it in half of Ruan Hao’s time.

Jiaojiao smiled proudly, raising her little chin: "Brother Duan is smart, he can do it."

"You really trust him." Lu Xian looked at the girl’s proud expression, somewhat jealous.

Jiaojiao just smiled without responding. Lu Xian, not wanting to continue torturing himself on this topic, switched subjects. The two chatted while walking, and soon reached the gate of the Shen Family.
