Jiaojiao sat by the window and rested her chin on her hand, beginning to study for her final exam.

Because she had a cold uterus, even though there was an air conditioner installed, the Ruan Family didn’t let her use it, but placed a fan nearby instead. Jiaojiao listened to the sound of the fan blades turning, feeling increasingly sleepy, and she unknowingly closed her eyes.

No matter how she bounced, she couldn’t shake off the sensation wrapped around her knee. When she looked down, she saw one white and one yellow, two little snakes entwined around her legs. Their round heads had two eyes the size of mung beans, looking keenly at her.

Though the snakes’ eyes were small and lacked emotion, Jiaojiao still felt she could see joy and excitement in the two small snakes’ gazes.

"Hiss hiss hiss!" Get off! You shameless fellows!

Recently, Xiaobai had been eating without exercising, and had barely managed to climb up the balcony from the outer wall. Upon seeing the two little snakes wrapped around Jiaojiao, Xiaobai was furious. If it weren’t for the fact that these two annoying little snakes were wrapped around Jiaojiao’s legs, fearing he’d hurt her, he would have whipped them off with his tail already.

Jiaojiao was surprised by the two small snakes on her legs. Hearing the commotion on the balcony, she raised her head to see Xiaobai, now plumper, and then looked at the little snakes winding up her arm. Suddenly, she understood.

"Xiaobai, aren’t these your offspring?"

"Hiss hiss hiss..." Indeed they are.

Xiaobai twisted his body with disdain, still displeased seeing other snakes getting close to Jiaojiao. From the window, he stretched his large head inside and pulled off a small yellow snake wrapped around Jiaojiao’s arm.

It really was pulling because the little snake refused to come off. He used the two venomous fangs by his mouth to bite, piercing the little snake’s skin. As the little snake couldn’t withstand the pain and instinctively curled up, it was pulled away bit by bit.

The other one, being more clever, seeing his sibling removed, immediately darted behind Jiaojiao’s shoulder, hiding his small body behind her hair, peeking out cautiously. Whenever Xiaobai showed signs of coming closer, he quickly pulled his head back behind Jiaojiao’s neck, even entangling himself in Jiaojiao’s ponytail.

"Hiss hiss hiss!" Debtors! Debtors!

Xiaobai was furious, helpless against the little snake, he could only pound his tail on the floor, making a loud slapping sound.

Jiaojiao didn’t like the feeling of snakes around her body either. She reached out to grab it a few times, but couldn’t touch it. Seeing Xiaobai already anxious and engaged in a battle of wits with the little snake behind her neck, she could only say, "Leave it be, Xiaobai, it might come down later."
