The Imperial Martial Pill Venerable
Chapter 293 - 292: No! No!
"The Blood Nether Association is truly something else!" Shangguan Bei murmured, a cold glint flashing in his eyes. Even he was unable to detect the assassin’s precise location, let alone Qin Ya. In his eyes, Qin Ya was already a dead man.
It wasn’t just Shangguan Bei; the other Martial Artists all thought the same.
"Even Divine Thought can’t detect where that assassin is. How can he possibly fight?"
"Indeed. A concealment ability like that is terrifying."
"Sigh... I wonder who this Qin Ya managed to offend to bring such a disaster upon himself."
Many people cast their gazes toward Shangguan Bei. As they saw it, Qin Ya had only recently arrived in Lieyang City, and the only power he had offended was the Shangguan Family. The one with a motive to kill was obvious, but no one dared to say it aloud.
For one, there was no proof. For another, there was no need to offend the Shangguan Family.
’Sigh. Of all the people to offend in Lieyang City, he just had to pick the Shangguan Family.’
"He’s so young and has limitless potential. It’s a shame he’s so brazen, not even understanding that the tree that outgrows the forest is destined to be toppled by the wind. Sigh, what a waste."
"Indeed."
Back on the battlefield, Qin Ya stood motionless, long spear in hand. The assassin, seemingly spooked by Qin Ya’s earlier attack, hadn’t made a move for nearly ten breaths, his thoughts a mystery.
The assassin, shrouded by the mask’s power, wore a look of shock and uncertainty. ’Was Qin Ya’s last attack a coincidence, or can he actually see my position? If it’s the latter, then I’m in real danger.’
Seeing Qin Ya stand perfectly still, the assassin crept closer, step by step. His Essence, Qi, and Spirit were honed to their absolute peak, muscles taut, not daring to let his guard down for even a second. He mentally gauged the distance. ’Twenty meters... fifteen meters... twelve meters...’
Just then, Ting Xiao’s voice slowly rang out.
"Kid, ten meters to your left."
Qin Ya tightened his grip on the long spear but didn’t strike, his face maintaining a vigilant expression. Seeing this, the assassin hesitated for a moment before continuing to advance.
"Kid, he’s less than three meters away from you now!"
At that moment, a cold light burst from Qin Ya’s eyes. The long spear in his hand carved a mysterious arc through the air, like a Flood Dragon rising from the sea to create a storm. Faint ripples spread through the void, as if the very air trembled before the spear’s might.
The assassin was on high alert. The moment Qin Ya struck, he was ready. His body twisted into an unbelievable arc, dodging the peerlessly powerful spear. At the same time, he kicked off the ground, instantly putting several yards between them.
The spectating Martial Artists, however, only saw Qin Ya’s spear stab into empty air. Nothing happened. They were stunned and a little confused.
"Could he actually be able to detect where the assassin is?"
"Impossible. Even we can’t sense him. How could he possibly know?"
"Right. He must just be taking wild guesses."
"He’s not even trying to run in a situation like this. This Qin Ya is certainly brave."
The assassin, however, glanced at Qin Ya with lingering fear. ’If I hadn’t been on maximum alert, that last spear thrust would have been enough to end my life.’
He had hunted down countless Martial Artists with Cultivation far stronger than his own, all thanks to this mask. He never expected to suffer a setback at Qin Ya’s hands. ’He really is just like the rumors say—a peerless prodigy.’
But then the corners of his mouth curled into a smirk, his eyes filled with a cold light. He muttered under his breath, "But you will die by my hand in the end. Three meters... The distance at which he can sense my presence is only three meters. As long as I stay more than three meters away, he’s helpless against me. Heh. Qin Ya, I’ll gladly be taking your head."
As he finished speaking, the dagger in his hand vanished, replaced by a longsword that glinted coldly. Standing at a distance, he suddenly slashed, and a cyan Sword Qi, several yards long and infused with the Mysteries of Wind, erupted into existence.
The Sword Qi shot toward Qin Ya like a tempest.
Qin Ya swept his long spear, and the Sword Qi instantly shattered. But in the blink of an eye, a dozen more blades of Sword Qi assailed him from all directions, placing him at the center of a raging storm.
Faced with this assault, Qin Ya’s expression was fearless. With a low cry, he began to thrust his spear relentlessly. Its incredible speed produced countless afterimages, striking out in every direction in the blink of an eye and shattering all the incoming Sword Qi.
"My goodness, how fast must his spear be to do that!"
"This fellow... could he have comprehended the Mysterious Speed?"
"Among the conventional Mysteries, Wind and Thunder are the fastest, but even they can’t produce this kind of speed. Only the Mysterious Speed, which is dedicated solely to velocity, could make this possible. To think he actually comprehended such a Mystery!"
"I never thought his insight would be this astonishing."
The hidden assassin was also startled by Qin Ya’s terrifying spear speed. He gritted his teeth, circulated his True Essence, and began gathering the Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi from a thousand-zhang radius around him. Just as he was about to unleash a powerful move, a glint of cold light suddenly descended, interrupting his technique.
’Damn it. Gathering Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi reveals my position. Curses! It looks like I can only use the power from my True Essence Qi Sea.’
The assassin was secretly vexed. He constantly shifted his position within a ten-meter radius of Qin Ya, endlessly unleashing waves of Sword Qi. Though Qin Ya’s spear was fast, he eventually began to show signs of fatigue after the prolonged defense, much to the assassin’s delight.
"Ha, looks like you can’t keep this up for long," the assassin sneered. He then increased the speed of his sword strikes, intending to wear Qin Ya down to his death.
Seeing this, the surrounding Martial Artists shook their heads and sighed.
"Although this young man is very strong, it ends here."
"Yeah, an invisible assassin is just too much to handle."
Just then, Qin Ya’s spear faltered. He allowed a blast of Sword Qi to strike him, sending him flying back dozens of yards. He came to a stop leaning on his spear, his face pale.
’Hmph. You finally can’t take it anymore.’
The invisible assassin snorted, a sinister smile forming on his lips. He moved, arriving not far from Qin Ya. He channeled all his True Essence, gathering it into the longsword in his hand, which began to radiate an endless light within the unseen Space.
Qin Ya, however, seemed completely unaware. With a pale face, he looked around, as if trying to locate his opponent. The assassin sneered. ’I know the power of this mask better than anyone. Not even a King could necessarily detect me.’
’Although this Qin Ya has some special method of finding me, its range is only three meters. Right now, I’m well beyond his perception. How could he possibly find me? This battle is my victory!’
"Ting Xiao, where is he!"
Qin Ya looked exhausted, but his eyes showed not a trace of panic!
"Forward and to the right, six meters, not moving!" Ting Xiao said.
"Good. It’s time to end this."
A cold smile spread across Qin Ya’s face. He gathered a flickering arc of lightning in his hand and slammed his palm onto the ground. The crackling electricity hit the earth and instantly erupted into an endless tide, sweeping out in all directions.
’Not good!’ the assassin thought in alarm.
But the lightning was instantaneous. In a flash, it washed over him, interrupting the gathering of his technique. A paralyzing sensation rendered him immobile.
’Damn it, this lightning... it’s paralyzing my body!’
The assassin was horrified. ’Thank goodness, with the mask’s power, this Qin Ya kid can’t perceive my existence. I just have to wait for this paralysis to wear off...’
Before he could finish the thought, Qin Ya was condensing lightning again. Dozens of Thunder Spears, crackling with violet electricity, materialized in the air above, then fell like a torrential downpour in the blink of an eye.
"No, no!!"
