Chapter 809: Neo-Human?

After a few more hours of chatting back and forth with Onyx, the fact that an egg was on this planet was hilarious and I would be teasing Jewel with it the next time I saw her. I was eventually relieved of guard duty by Nerissa.

After having a few hours to reset the brain myself, I woke up and called a meeting in the kitchen.

From the intel we had gathered during our scouting yesterday, we had a few targets. Deciding not to cast a wide net, we decided not to hit all targets at once and draw ourselves thin, but to work on two for today. The water supplies and the ammo dumps.

Both weakened the region. The ammo not so much, unlike up north, with an entire clan in the south it made their logistics more efficient. But access to clean drinking water would complicate things for them. Pushing back their deadlines. And that is what the aim of this guerilla war was. To buy Spartari and Fort Amberrock as much time as possible to reinforce the region.

I split the groups up to make the strengths equal as possible.

Nerissa, Tamara, Willow and Morrgan were one group while Rhapso, Sithrik, Rhea and Gabrielle were the other.

I was going to hang back away from each group as both targets today were in the same direction. I was to act as a reinforcement if things went haywire as with Onyx and Sapphire these extra numbers were useful in a pinch.

"Asgining leaders to each group is pointless. Each of you have your strengths and weaknesses so act as a unit. I trust you all to do just fine. Also, if things go haywire out there. We have these new gauss weapons. Might as well use them if we have them. I will follow in an hour once I have made sure our bunker will not be found. Dismissed and good luck."

Everyone present was a seasoned warrior or equivalent to one. There were no nerves, no idling. They got their orders and left hastily.

Once I was alone I sat down and let out a long exasperated breath. I was not one. Not in the mind anyway. I could put on my new ’Sentinel’ persona, but acting the leader was tiring.

I then spoke aloud. "It’s your fault really Onyx. Being pampered all my life. I’m supposed to be a king and it just feels so not me."

Onyx then appeared at my side. "And you deserve all the pampering in the universe, my king. We will not feel bad for spoiling you. You deserve it."

She then sat on my lap and straddled me. My hands became glued to her hips and refused to budge. "See, this is exactly what I mean. How can little ol’ me be a leader? With the way I have been raised. I am surprised I’m not a snively young master, All entitled and just begging to be bitch slapped."

Onyx tilted her head to the side, confused by something I just said. She was about to ask, before we were reminded we weren’t exactly alone.

"Query. Where did Onyx appear from, Apollo? My scanner shows no indicator of her entering the room." Astra asked Prompting Onyx and I to look in the direction of the food Synthesier.

Before I could say anything, Onyx shot up off my lap and ran over to the synthesiser. "You can create biomass from nothing? Show me!" It said, eagerly.

"Correction. I can alter biomass from one state into another through a process called energy transmutation. I am incapable of creating something from Nothing. I do not possess the reality breaking Psionics that Apollo showed me earlier."

I then chimed in to answer its question from where I sat. "She used Psionics to arrive next to me, in the simplest terms. Don’t worry your circuits about it. I trust Onyx more than anyone else here. In fact, give her the second highest clearance after me."

"Understood, Apollo. Granting Onyx, Species unknown, secondary ownership role." Astra stated calmly, but Onyx and I looked between each other in shock for a moment, before she turned to Synthesiser and asked.

"What do you mean ’Species unknown?’ Can you not tell what I am from your scan?"

"Processing... Your biology appears similar to humans, but a deep scan indicates your body is brimming with potential energy unlike anything I am aware of. Almost like the body before me isn’t actually what you are supposed to be."

’Uh oh.’ I thought for a moment before I blurted out. "She is a neo-human like I am. Just mark her down as that and never repeat what you just said to anyone else, ok?"

"Confirmed. Onyx, secondary owner, has been labelled neo-human." Astra stated.

"Ok... What’s a neo-human?" Onyx asked, turning to me, looking me up and down, a curious look in her eye . I just shrugged my shoulders.

"I have a hunch that Astra has human biology in her data. And because we are not exactly clean humans. Me having my gene enhancements and you being... You. We classify as something different."

"Affirmative, that was my process in the naming of your genome adaptations." Astra chimed in, it was weird having a third entity around without a body. I would assume I would be used to it with me constantly talking to individuals inside my Mindspace, but this felt different.

Onyx didn’t linger on this for long, either she saw something with her sight, or just didn’t care about technology knowing her secret. But she turned to the synthesiser and requested. "Shrimp. Can you make me shrimp?"

A few moments passed in silence before with a small flash of light, a plate with half a dozen shrimp appeared in the Synthesiser. Onyx wasted no time and inhaled the lot within seconds. "Mmhhh~ If I didn’t eat earlier, I would be ordering five hundred of these things right now..."

Her mind then turned elsewhere as she suddenly turned around and walked back over to me and began to wheel around me like a predator stalking prey.

"Thirty six by the way." She whispered into my ear.

I attempted to turn to her, but she kept out of my vision. "Come again?" I asked, giving up.

"You gave me a number. One minute of undisturbed love for every Drakoshi over twelve feet I kill during the siege defence. I killed thirty six before I got distracted~ How about we go find a quiet corner where I can get my reward? I am eager~"

I then felt her breathe on the back of my neck and her finger running across my shoulder. The room suddenly became silent as my Stalker-caste beauty made the mistake of trying to make me feel like prey in her little roleplay.

Banging the table in front of me, caving it in. I suddenly turned around to ’attack’ Onyx, but she began to run away, giggling all the while. The hunt was enticing. I had time to see it through before I had to mobilise after all...

...

With the nail marks still bleeding and in the process of healing all over my back, I began to put my clothes back on while staring at the puddle of Onyx on the floor.

"I didn’t expect war to have so many opportunities for sexual encounters. It’s been a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. Now, I am going ahead. I want you to clean this all up before following after me. Understood?"

"Yesh~ My Hah~" Seeing Onyx exhausted and overstimulated like this brought me immense primal satisfaction. She had a body that could take all of my strength and I took advantage of that. Plus the act of passion had cleared my mind of all the stress that had been piling up and I felt new again.

After giving a final prideful glance at my handiwork, I made my way to the armory, I took one of the Gauss rifles and took a small glance at the curiosities that were the antimatter balls before heading to the entrance. After carefully making sure the coast was clear after leaving, I took flight below the trees and made my way East towards the Rendezvous point.

Even with my new weight thanks to my armour in my arm, after passing the bottleneck, my Gyrokinesis took it as a challenge to improve and flight was now stable once more. I still took breaks to ’Jump good’ for a while, allowing myself to glide more than fly, but it was so freeing and liberating to do what I was doing. Plus it was faster than running now by quite a bit.

The thought left me giddy as I was fast on such a world where my Gyrokinesis was already working pretty hard on the passive side. Imagining myself in space flying, weightless. The thought of how fast I could get enticed me greatly.

My thoughts on the matter swiftly came to an end though as I arrived at the Rendezvous point. A small cave Morrgan and I found. Once I was inside I found a short range communication device and some gear waiting for me.

It was time to turn on leader mode again.
