The Growth of a God
Chapter 770 - 4: Ancient God · Bronze Divine Tree
"Could this ’space-time projection’ be influenced by the body’s luck value?"
With a strange expression, it settled atop the Chaos Throne.
The Dragon of Chaos simply couldn’t understand why the "unlikely event" mentioned by the Bronze Divine Tree would happen to it so quickly.
"Did you encounter the former Chaos Supreme God?"
"Or an individual who might become a Chaos Supreme God in the future?"
Although it couldn’t discern any change in expression on the Bronze Divine Tree’s face at this moment,
the Dragon of Chaos believed that the other’s expression wouldn’t be any more normal than its own.
After all, in the endless river of time, coincidentally meeting a "colleague" from either the past or future isn’t something that can be simply described as good or bad luck.
If it met those who haven’t become Chaos Supreme Gods yet, it would be fine.
They might see the Dragon of Chaos as having become a Chaos Supreme God ahead of time, becoming a member of these thirteen Chaos Thrones.
But before that, they pose no threat to the Dragon of Chaos.
However, if the Dragon of Chaos encountered a former Chaos Supreme God, that would pose a great problem.
Firstly, being a former Chaos Supreme God, they are unquestionably old hands, thoroughly understanding the essence of the Gods of Chaos.
Secondly, since they are former Chaos Supreme Gods, it implies that they certainly abandoned their incarnation as the Gods of Chaos.
Considering the benefits of becoming a God of Chaos, those willing to give up such an incarnation voluntarily may exist, but they’re extremely rare.
Thus, those Chaos Supreme Gods have most likely already faced death.
No one can imagine what actions a Chaos Supreme God, destined for future death, would take.
Whether to escape the fate of death or to return to the Chaos Throne...
Upon knowing the existence of the Dragon of Chaos, those Chaos Supreme Gods would have only one choice—to invade and seize in reverse.
"No, the situation isn’t as dire as you imagine, I can handle it for now."
After regaining its senses, the Dragon of Chaos hesitated for a moment, then casually brushed off the topic.
"More than that, I’m curious why you would teach me such ’space-time projection’."
The Dragon of Chaos never overestimated its own value, nor underestimated the potential of [space-time projection].
Regardless of anything else, once fully mastering the capability of [space-time projection], the Dragon of Chaos itself could toy with this special ability to the extreme.
Being cunning foxes for countless years, the Dragon of Chaos could hardly believe that the Bronze Divine Tree wouldn’t recognize the value of [space-time projection].
"You need it, and I have the ability, nothing more."
In response to the Dragon of Chaos’s questioning, the Bronze Divine Tree provided an unexpected answer.
"Just... that?"
Staring at the Bronze Divine Tree ambiguously for a long time, an idea suddenly popped into the Dragon of Chaos’s mind.
"Could it be that you are the creator of the ’Gods of Chaos’?"
"Do you plan to harness the power of elites from various eras to forge the ’Gods of Chaos’ into a truly perfect Divine Artifact, creating a shortcut for yourself towards the ’Tao of Celestial Father’?"
This concept had just been learned by the Dragon of Chaos from Aten, but seemed rather fitting when applied here.
Only in this way could it be explained why the Bronze Divine Tree understood the [Gods of Chaos] so well, and its special care for these Gods of Chaos.
In fact, besides the current special situation of the Dragon of Chaos,
each newly crowned Chaos Supreme God had also received help from the Bronze Divine Tree,
whether directly or indirectly...
When they first set foot in this high-dimensional space, they would be reminded by the Bronze Divine Tree to keep their era’s information secret.
From the perspective of a normal God of Chaos,
this was evidently a thankless task that might even do more harm than good.
Whether it relates to itself or to other Gods of Chaos, such acts by the Bronze Divine Tree were damaging to the interests of beneficiaries.
Yet, the Bronze Divine Tree persisted, gaining the tacit approval of many Chaos Supreme Gods.
"The creator of the ’Gods of Chaos’?"
After a moment of apparent surprise, the Bronze Divine Tree’s words showed a smile for the first time.
"That notion is quite interesting?"
"There have always been numerous speculations about me."
"Some say I am a collective of the many ’Gods of Chaos’..."
"Others claim I am the self-will born among the endless times of the ’Gods of Chaos’..."
"There are even guesses that I might be an Orderkeeper specifically to ensure the eternal existence of the ’Gods of Chaos’..."
"But you’re the first to see me as the creator of the ’Gods of Chaos’."
The Bronze Divine Tree’s implication was clear; it was not the creator of [Gods of Chaos] as mentioned by the Dragon of Chaos.
"Do you want to know my experiences?"
"From the perspective of a Listener, listening to the growth story of a God of Chaos..."
Nodding eagerly, the Dragon of Chaos indeed wished to learn the experiences of the Bronze Divine Tree.
Although knowing the other is certainly going to obscure its era’s information, it could more or less infer the stance and attitude of the Bronze Divine Tree.
"As for me, in the beginning, I didn’t want to become a ’God of Chaos’." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"So, after obtaining this incarnation, I chose not to use it for a rather long period."
With a deep sigh, while describing this past, the Bronze Divine Tree’s tone was filled with unlimited nostalgia and reminiscence.
"Until one day, I heard the voice of another ’God of Chaos’..."
"It was a young voice, full of innocence and childlike wonder..."
"She called me Mom, perhaps mistaking me for her previous ’God of Chaos’ mother."
"Sadly, she didn’t know I existed in another time-space, and perhaps didn’t even realize her mother had already died."
"All she knew was, this thing belonged to her Mom, and through it, she had always been able to communicate with her Mom."
Somewhat bewildered, yet somehow enlightened...
The Dragon of Chaos could probably sort out the logic within but felt all the more baffled by it.
"Perplexingly, it seemed I’d inherited another ’God of Chaos’s daughter in a different time-space..."
"She would complain to me that yesterday’s food tasted awful, today’s learning tasks had increased, and sometimes she would want me to lull her to sleep."
The Bronze Divine Tree’s voice was gentle and delicate, narrating past events as if it were a real mother.
"And so day after day, year after year, like a real mother, I accompanied her growth."
"Until one day, she suddenly cried, feeling deeply wronged, and asked me... why couldn’t I be truly by her side like other people’s mothers?"
