"What’s going on with you, sir?" Liu Banxia asked as he approached.
"Foot pain." Tang Feifei pitifully pulled down her sunglasses a bit.
"Forget it, let’s register first." Liu Banxia waved his hand.
Tang Feifei’s complexion wasn’t easy to see at the moment, with makeup covering her. But she should be fine, her Hashimoto’s thyroiditis seems to be well-controlled.
What’s giving him a headache is that it seems like Tang Feifei brought along some ’little tails’, unsure if they were fans or reporters.
He was most worried about treating celebrities as it could make things chaotic around here.
After saying a few words to the security guards, they were asked to help maintain order later on. After Tang Feifei registered, he directly led her to the VIP room.
No matter the illness, going to the VIP is a must; it’s quieter there and can better keep Tang Feifei’s condition confidential.
"Oh my, it hurts so much. My right foot, just twisted it a little, didn’t hurt much at the time, but these two days it’s been too painful to walk, and I can’t film," Tang Feifei said as she hopped onto the bed after entering the room.
"Let me take a look. It’s swollen, why wear socks? Do you hate that your feet aren’t swelling as slim as pig’s trotters?" Liu Banxia said helplessly.
"Isn’t it not good to be barefoot? Wearing slippers," Tang Feifei carefully took off her socks.
"Did you get an X-ray?" Liu Banxia asked as he put on gloves.
"Not yet, I drove directly from the set. I don’t trust anyone else, so I can only come to you," Tang Feifei said.
"It takes a hundred days for muscles and bones to heal even if the bone isn’t broken, but it’s twisted. See here on the right side of your ankle? There’s some bruising already," Liu Banxia said after examining it carefully.
"Can it be treated? I just noticed it yesterday, the day before, it wasn’t this swollen," Tang Feifei asked.
"It can be treated, but you need to rest properly for a few days," Liu Banxia replied.
"Fortunately, you haven’t broken a bone, only some ointment massage can help relieve it. If you stayed still after spraining, it wouldn’t have gotten this bad."
"How many days? Can it recover in three days?" Tang Feifei asked again.
Liu Banxia glared at her, "You’re a fairy, but I’m not an old deity. Swollen like this with bruising, needs blood activation and stasis reduction; three days aren’t enough, you’ll need at least about a week to recover pretty much."
"And even after recovery, you need to reduce activities. If you make it recurrent, it might even become chronic; think of the days you’ll have to lie if a sudden fracture occurs."
Xu Yino and Liu Yiqing beside were holding back laughter; it seemed only Teacher Liu could treat Tang Feifei lightly, compared to the assistant watching with that kind of gaze.
Tang Feifei felt conflicted; the filming was almost wrapped up, but her foot was truly unbearable. Yet she knew Liu Banxia’s temper; if you become his patient, you have to listen to him.
"Three days will have some effect; at least limited small activities should be fine," Liu Banxia said.
"For the next couple of days, you have to endure the pain, and get the bruising inside rubbed away. Swelling indicates inflammation, and the root cause is these bruises and ligament damage inside."
"Alright, alright, it’s fine, pain is okay." Hearing Liu Banxia say this, Tang Feifei perked up.
"Xu Yino, go find Wu Mingyu to get a tube of ointment for treating injuries, I’ll rub it for her," Liu Banxia said.
"Okay."
Xu Yino responded and then ran out.
Have to take a good look later; it falls within the scope of orthopedic techniques.
"How is Qiaoqiao now? Is her belly big?" Tang Feifei asked.
"It’s alright, she just fiddles with the dogs at home every day," Liu Banxia replied.
"Though this time she probably can’t come to the hospital with you; being pregnant, staying away from the hospital is better. She usually spends more time at home, you can visit and play later."
Tang Feifei nodded, thinking she might stroll over tomorrow; just uncertain if wandering would be spotted.
"How’s your thyroid?" Liu Banxia asked.
"Recently, it’s fine, I’m very careful while filming," Tang Feifei replied.
"What kind of care? I’ve told you so many times to get enough rest and balance nutrition; you refuse to listen. How will you handle it if it flares up; you think it’s an easy adjustment?" Liu Banxia said helplessly.
"I’ve told you several times, you must rest well and maintain balanced nutrition, but you just don’t listen. If it flares up and you deal with it, think it’s easy to adjust?"
Tang Feifei went silent again, she felt there was nothing wrong with her body. She just accidentally twisted her foot, and it accidentally swelled up.
"Sit up straight, chest out and head up," Liu Banxia instructed.
Tang Feifei didn’t know what he was going to do but obediently sat up straight.
"See, her left shoulder is slightly lower," Liu Banxia said, looking at the assistant who had come along with her.
"This is somewhat related to her usual lifestyle habits, and this is even when she’s intentionally sitting up straight. If it continues over time, it’ll look quite unattractive."
"Let’s massage your foot first to get the blood flowing and reposition the twisted ligaments. Then I’ll adjust your spine, which can also spare you some future suffering."
"And for now, don’t wear high heels. Those things really impose a big burden on the body. Your toes are already affected, and over time, you’ll tend to lean forward and get shorter."
"Why’s that?" Tang Feifei asked curiously.
"Why? Your spine gets bent. Once it’s fixed, it can’t be adjusted back," Liu Banxia explained.
"It’s already tiring to act, and yet you still have to wear high heels, so your body naturally finds the best angles to relieve pressure. High heels aren’t for everyone, especially when your heels are higher than others’ shoulders."
Tang Feifei felt a bit helpless; there were many events she had to attend, and she couldn’t just wear sneakers.
But she felt a bit delighted inside; it was a perfect time for Liu Banxia to take care of things since she indeed felt tight all over recently.
"Change clothes, I’ll help you adjust things in a bit," Liu Banxia said, pulling the curtain for her.
"Teacher Liu, I’m back." At this point, Xu Yino ran in from outside.
"Although we don’t use osteopathy that often, it’s way more frequent than we use it here in wellness clinics," Liu Banxia noted.
"For some fracture patients, if repositioning can be done manually, the prognosis is way better than surgery. You two should research skeletal structures when you have time and cultivate a feel for touching bones."
"You’ll all be independent in the future; how do you manage emergency bone repositions without an X-ray around? You can’t just wait for patients to get amputated."
"Poor lifestyle habits gradually deform our bones to a certain extent. Like children’s study postures, sleeping postures, long-term heavy labor, all have a significant impact."
The two young ladies nodded in unison; Liu Banxia’s osteopathy skills were reliable. It’s kind of a special session now, this special session being Tang Feifei.
After waiting a bit, Tang Feifei had changed into patient clothes and even removed all her makeup. Her prominent dark circles were quite noticeable.
"It’ll hurt a bit later, bear with it," Liu Banxia lifted Tang Feifei’s foot.
"Osteopathy isn’t that complicated, it’s about adjusting surrounding bones and ligaments to their original positions. If they can’t be repositioned, it’ll only worsen, eventually causing deformity, and then only surgery can fix it."
"During the repositioning process, it has to be slow and precise. Just like we find a surgical approach, you have to find the right entry, or it may cause greater damage. Then it’s not bone-setting but bone-breaking."
"Press your toes into my chest, press as hard as you can—even if it hurts. If you don’t stretch out, don’t expect it to heal well. If you don’t put in the effort, I’ll have to help."
Tang Feifei gritted her teeth and pressed her toes hard. It really hurt, but she had to endure.
"Ok, now flex your toes up, still with force. One breath per movement, push to your limit. When you press and flex, I can spread out the nearby ligaments and knead them into their original position."
"But this is a repetitive process, come twice a day, morning and night. Consider it like you’re visiting a foot massage parlor, sometimes foot massages can be quite painful."
"Cough cough cough..."
Xu Yino couldn’t help laughing; the Liu therapist was in action.
It seemed easy enough, but for Tang Feifei, the feeling was truly tough. It was painful, tears swirling in her eyes.
"Look, that’s progress. Your toes weren’t pressed this deep earlier; now there’s at least a centimeter of progress," Liu Banxia applied slightly more force.
"You’re lying, you pushed hard," Tang Feifei cried from the pain.
The assistant didn’t dare say a word, it was the first time seeing Tang Feifei truly cry. How could this doctor be so ruthless, forcing it?
"I told you, if you don’t try, I’ll have to help you try," Liu Banxia said earnestly.
"Breathe with it, you’ll relax a bit. I need to move it back and forth and do so slightly. Once finished, apply some heat, and the swelling will subside a lot by tomorrow. Hang in there, you’ll do fine."
Tang Feifei gritted her teeth, tears streaming down, regretting fiercely inside. It was indeed too painful, and she even felt like she was cramping from the pain.
Liu Banxia wasn’t entirely comfortable either; it’s not easy work, fingers were a bit sore from the pinching. He thought of it as massage therapy, but it required more effort than actual osteopathy, relying entirely on finger strength.
