Chapter 2448: Bright City

Su Yang and his three companions pursued their path in the direction pointed by the previous individuals, encountering quite a few Human Race Saint Emperors along the way.

Initially, some Saint Emperors stopped them to inquire about their situation, and Su Yang straightforwardly stated his purpose as he did with the others. Just as Su Yang anticipated, these Saint Emperors indeed did not stop him; instead, they assisted Su Yang by pointing out directions.

As Su Yang suspected, these Saint Emperors, though not without hatred for the Guardian God, dared not to kill the Guardian God themselves. Now that someone else was taking action, they were happy to watch the spectacle.

Later on, no one obstructed them since Su Yang and his companions were deep into the territory of the Human Clan.

After tracking for about three to four months, the speed of Nine Palace Main God's group proved extremely fast. Though Su Yang and his companions pursued them with all their might, it was still difficult to catch up in a short amount of time.

"What exactly are the Nine Palace Main God and their group doing here?" The Second City Lord murmured in frustration, "They've been running all along, how long do we have to pursue them?"

Su Yang remained silent; this might have something to do with his mother. He was determined to follow until the end no matter the cost.

After another half a month of pursuit, Su Yang and his companions suddenly noticed a change in the direction of Nine Palace Main God's group.

Previously, they had been moving along the main path, but upon reaching this point, they changed direction towards the central area of the main path.

"Seems like they're about to find the place!" Su Yang's heart surged with excitement; does this mean he might find clues about his mother?

The four accelerated towards the central region, advancing for several more months. During this process, Su Yang was surprised to discover more people the closer they got to the central region. The members of the Human Clan seemed to prefer living in the center, which was quite strange.

Moreover, the closer they got to the center, the heavier the defense became.

Initially, outside, when encountering Human Race Saint Emperors, they seldom intercepted Su Yang and his companions.

However, as Su Yang and his companions ventured into the central region, anyone they encountered stopped them for interrogation. These people seemed particularly wary of outside forces, even if they were members of the Human Clan themselves, they remained highly vigilant.

Additionally, Su Yang realized that if he weren't loudly declaring his intent to pursue the Guardian God, they probably wouldn't have allowed him to advance into the central region. They seemed to be rigorously defending the center and were unwilling to let anyone enter.

But as Su Yang and his group were few in number, posing little threat, and were targeting the Guardian God, these people did not obstruct them.

Nevertheless, this slowed Su Yang and his companions considerably.

After advancing for three full years, Su Yang and his group did not find the Guardian Gods, instead discovering themselves in front of a huge city.

Upon seeing the city, Su Yang was dumbfounded. How could he have imagined there would be a city here? Weren't the Saint Emperors of the main path living in hardship? How could they build such a large city?

Outside this city, several groups of powerful Human Race Saint Emperors were patrolling.

As Su Yang and his companions approached, one of the groups immediately stopped them.

The leader, seemingly a captain, scrutinized the four with a stern gaze, "Who are you? How dare you intrude in Bright City? You have some nerve!"

"Bright City?" Su Yang was surprised; Lin Ke and Lin Yuan hadn't mentioned anything about Bright City to him. In fact, they hadn't told him there was even a city within the main path.

In hindsight, Su Yang could understand. Although Lin Ke and Lin Yuan had spent considerable time in the Land of Chaos, they knew little actually; they hadn't ventured into the main path, only learned a bit about its situation through legends from people in the branches. Yet, how much truth was involved in those stories, and how much content spread from them?

Seeing Su Yang's puzzled expression, the leading man furrowed his brow, "You've never heard of Bright City? Who really are you? How did you pass through the defenses outside to reach Bright City?"

Su Yang hastily cupped his hands, "Brother, we... we just recently entered the Land of Chaos, and truly don't know much about it!"

"You just entered?" The others were equally stunned; one asked in surprise, "But when you came in, how come you weren't carrying any Spiritual Source?"

Su Yang sneered inwardly; if they brought Spiritual Source, could they have made it this far? They'd have been robbed long ago!

"We didn't come to escape; we came for revenge!" Su Yang recounted his previous motive again.

These people listened, visibly shocked, as the leading captain stared at Su Yang in disbelief, "Your Great World hasn't been taken over by the Guardian Gods yet?"

"Yes!" Su Yang nodded, even though he himself found it baffling, but indeed, their Great World remained a pure land.

The Guardian God of their Great World never summoned Guardian Gods from other worlds to aid them, which startled Su Yang. Otherwise, their Great World would likely have fallen to the Guardian Gods long ago!

"So, you're here specifically to hunt down those Guardian Gods!" the captain concluded.

"Indeed!" Su Yang nodded again.

The captain slowly nodded, falling silent for a moment before saying, "The Guardian Gods you speak of, I've seen them. They've entered Bright City!"

"Oh?" Su Yang perked up immediately, "Have they left yet?"

"Not left yet!" Perceiving Su Yang's thoughts, the captain said solemnly, "However, you can't enter Bright City!"

"Why?" Su Yang asked curiously.

"That's our rule!" The captain replied seriously, "Bright City isn't entertaining any outsiders during this period!"

"But the Guardian Gods can enter; why can't we? Aren't we all part of the Human Clan? The Guardian Gods are our enemies. They're allowed in, but we aren't. Isn't that discrimination?" The Second City Lord protested indignantly.

"Guardian Gods are different from you!" The captain's face darkened, "That's the rule, unchangeable by anyone. You can't enter Bright City during this period. However, you may wait outside Bright City. Once the Guardian Gods come out, I can inform you and provide their whereabouts. That's the only help I can offer you!"
