Chapter 91: Divine Reunion???

Zen walked over to the edge of the bed. "System. Connect to the two ball drones I dropped in the hallway, then start mapping the immediate areas of the palace. I need to know exactly where the guards are stationed, where the exits are... everything. And also where she put Maya, Val, and Nyx."

[Connecting... Drones active. Mapping in progress. Data compiling.]

"While you do that, run a probability check," Zen ordered. "What is Aurelia planning to do at this dinner?"

[Calculating probabilities based on host interactions and the Empress’s ’Mind’ fragment behavioral patterns...]

[Probability of a direct assassination attempt: 0%.]

[Probability of forceful magical confinement: 12%.]

[Probability of a grand, public political maneuver to permanently bind you to her Domain: 99.9%.]

"A political maneuver," Zen sighed, running a hand through his hair. "She is going to try and trap me with status and public perception."

He noticed a royal outfit laid out perfectly on the king-sized bed. It was a dark, tailored tunic woven from high-grade magical silk and lined with pure gold threading... the exact style of Imperial clothing he had worn five centuries ago.

"She didn’t miss a single detail," Zen said, picking up the heavy fabric.

Without wasting any more time, Zen walked into the attached luxury bathroom.

He stripped off his clothes and stepped into the massive marble shower. The hot water felt amazing, washing away the sweat and the residual tension from the flight over.

He dried off quickly and dressed in the royal clothes. The fit was absolutely perfect, tailored down to the exact millimeter. When he looked in the mirror, he didn’t look like the broke F-Rank academy student from back then.

He looked like the Emperor.

He stepped out of the bathroom just as the heavy double doors of his chamber unlocked with a loud, resounding click.

A palace messenger, dressed in a sharp white uniform, stepped into the room and bowed so low his nose almost touched the carpet.

"Your Majesty," the messenger said, his voice trembling with sheer awe. "The Empress requests your presence. Dinner is served. Please, allow me to guide you to the grand dining hall."

"Lead the way," Zen said calmly.

Zen followed the messenger through the sprawling corridors of the palace. The drones were quietly feeding a live map directly into his internal system interface, highlighting guard patrols and restricted zones in faint blue lines.

They finally reached a set of towering, diamond-encrusted doors.

"Presenting!" a loud, magically amplified announcer shouted from the other side of the doors. "The First Mortal Ruler! The Conqueror of the Void! His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Zenith Arclight!"

The diamond doors swung heavily open.

Zen walked in.

The grand dining hall was massive, stretching the length of a professional athletic field. It was filled to the brim with hundreds of high-ranking officials, wealthy nobles, and elite commanders. They were all dressed in their best, chatting loudly and eating extravagant food.

But the exact second Zen crossed the threshold, the entire hall went dead quiet.

Every single head turned to look at him. Forks stopped halfway to mouths. Expensive drinks hovered magically in the air. The weight of hundreds of powerful people staring at him would have crushed a normal academy student.

But Zen didn’t blink. He kept his posture perfectly straight, his chin raised slightly, and his eyes completely indifferent. He projected an aura of unquestionable superiority as he walked down the long, red carpet toward the head table.

Nyx, Valeria, and Maya were already seated near the front. Maya looked utterly terrified, shrinking in her chair under the intense stares of the Crown Domain nobles. Valeria looked incredibly bored, glaring at anyone who made eye contact with her. Nyx was casually sipping from a crystal goblet, looking highly amused by the spectacle.

At the very top of the hall, sitting at the head of a massive, U-shaped table, was Aurelia.

She was wearing an absolutely stunning, form-fitting golden gown that seemed to literally glow with ambient fire magic. She stood up as Zen approached.

The moment the Empress stood, every single high-ranking official and noble in the room scrambled to their feet, bowing their heads respectfully.

Zen reached the head table. His designated seat was placed directly to the right of Aurelia’s throne. It was the seat of an equal.

"You look magnificent, my Emperor," Aurelia whispered as he took his seat beside her.

"The clothes fit perfectly," Zen replied, keeping his voice low. "You put on quite a show for them."

"Only the best for you," she smiled.

Aurelia picked up a crystal cup filled with glowing golden wine. She picked up a silver spoon and clinked it gently against the glass.

Clink. Clink. Clink.

The sharp sound echoed loudly through the silent, massive hall.

"My loyal subjects," Aurelia’s soft, magically amplified voice filled the room. "And our esteemed guests from the other Domains. I welcome you to this historic dinner."

She turned gracefully to look at Zen, her blue eyes shining with an intense, manic obsession that sent a dangerous chill down his spine.

"For five hundred years, we have mourned the loss of our guiding light," Aurelia continued, her voice ringing with certainty. "But the heavens have rewarded our infinite patience. The Emperor has finally returned to us, whole, perfect and in one piece."

The hall erupted into scattered, nervous applause, the nobles unsure of how to react to a man they thought was a long-dead myth.

Aurelia raised her hand, silencing them instantly.

"To celebrate this divine reunion," Aurelia announced, her gaze sweeping over the furious faces of Valeria and Nyx, giving a mocking, satisfied wink before moving to the terrified face of Maya. "I am making a formal decree. Next week, the Crown Domain will host the greatest event in our recorded history."

She looked back to look at Zen, wearing a triumphant smile that was hungry and obsessed.

"The Emperor and I will be getting married officially," she declared smoothly, "uniting the world under our rule once again."
