"By the way, please sign for this and give it to your mom. It will definitely make her happy." Ye Chen handed the cake box to the young man.

"It’s a cake!" The young man’s face lit up with joy.

It happened to be his mother’s birthday today, and this cake felt like a timely gift.

Looking at Ye Chen, he felt inexplicably moved.

Unlike others who mocked or sneered at his creative pursuits, saying he was neglecting more serious matters, Ye Chen had been a huge encouragement to him. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

"I’m off now. Make sure you stick to your dreams and keep striving forward," Ye Chen said with a smile.

"Thank you, I will," the young man replied, his previous uncertainty replaced with confidence.

Ye Chen walked out of the small shabby house as a melody played from inside. He smiled; although there was a mix-up with the order, he’d helped a young man regain his confidence and considered it a good deed.

After helping the young man, Ye Chen rode his motorbike towards the wormhole. For some reason, he felt incredibly at ease.

Upon reaching the wormhole, he entered without stopping.

He reappeared in his own world, feeling particularly cheerful today.

Meanwhile, Zhou Jian, who had constantly provoked Ye Chen, was causing a scene at the police station, shouting, "Let me go now! My dad is the chairman of the Zhou Group, and he’ll deal with you lot."

As he yelled, he harbored resentment against Ye Chen and Tian Kun, blaming Ye Chen for provoking him in the first place and Tian Kun for embarrassing him in public.

This led him to strike Tian Kun, which resulted in his confinement by the police.

Having been spoiled by his father for a long time, Zhou Jian had developed a selfish nature, never realizing his own mistakes, always blaming others.

A while later, Zhou Minghan rushed in with a lawyer. After understanding the situation and speaking with the chief, they managed to take Zhou Jian and Tian Kun away.

Zhou Minghan arranged for Tian Kun to be taken home and compensated him generously, despite Tian Kun’s repeated refusals.

"Little Kun, Uncle apologizes. Little Jian hitting you was indeed wrong. I promise to discipline him at home. Please tell your father not to let this ruin the harmony between our families," Zhou Minghan said apologetically.

Though he held a high position, he believed in taking responsibility and apologizing when necessary.

"Uncle Zhou, that’s really not necessary. I’ll pretend none of this ever happened and won’t tell my father," Tian Kun replied hastily, surprised that Zhou Minghan would humble himself before a younger person.

"Little Jian, see how magnanimous Little Kun is? That’s what friends should be like. Hurry up and apologize," Zhou Minghan instructed his son.

"I did nothing wrong. Why should I apologize? It was Ye Chen and Tian Kun’s fault, I..." Zhou Jian said defiantly.

Before he could finish, a sharp slap resounded.

Zhou Jian clutched his stinging cheek, eyes filled with anger and grievance.

Those around were stunned. Everyone knew how much Zhou Minghan doted on his son. How could he bear to hit him?

Since they were outside, even though Zhou Minghan wanted to discipline his son, he didn’t want to do it in front of everyone. First, his son needed to save face, and second, it wasn’t suitable to say too much in public.

Tian Kun stood frozen, eyes filled with shock.

"Little Kun, these are your medical expenses and some supplements. Please take them. I’ll have a driver take you home," Zhou Minghan instructed, as his associates handed the prepared money and items to Tian Kun.

Tian Kun finally snapped out of his shock and quickly said, "Thank you, Uncle Zhou."

He then followed the driver to the car, eager to leave. Uncle Zhou’s gaze was indeed frightening.

Zhou Jian couldn’t believe his father had hit him for the first time in his life, leaving him unable to accept it.

He stormed off angrily, but Zhou Minghan’s men blocked him, forcibly dragging him into the car.

"Let me go! Let me go!" Zhou Jian shouted loudly.

No matter how much he struggled, it was futile. Zhou Minghan’s men were trained, and there was no way he could escape.

Quickly, Zhou Jian was forced into the car, still shouting and making a fuss.

At one moment, he demanded the driver stop; the next, he threatened to jump out, claiming life was not worth living.

Sitting in the car silently, Zhou Minghan felt both angry and heartbroken as Zhou Jian continued his antics.

They say when you hit your son, the father feels the pain.

Since his wife’s early passing, he’d been both a mother and father to his son, raising him and fulfilling all his needs. Due to Ye Chen, he couldn’t help but worry about his son, fearing he’d cause a major catastrophe.

When Zhou Minghan received the police call, his heart sank. His son had gone to a party; how could he end up at the police station?

Hurriedly, he called the lawyer and headed to the station. Upon seeing his son and Tian Kun, he felt relieved. It was just a scuffle between two kids, nothing too serious.

But when he heard his son mention Ye Chen, tension and fear crept in. He knew his son must have provoked Ye Chen again.

He had previously warned his son not to provoke Ye Chen, but he treated it as wind by his ear. How could Zhou Minghan not be furious?

The car moved forward, driving into the Zhou Family Manor. Zhou Minghan got out and went straight to the study, with Zhou Jian escorted by two men following him.

"You can leave now," Zhou Minghan said to the two men.

"Yes, sir," they replied in unison before leaving and closing the door.

Now alone with his son, Zhou Minghan sympathetically asked, "Little Jian, does it hurt where I hit you?"

Zhou Jian, clutching his face, refused to look at his father, now adding him to the list of people he resented.

"Ah, Little Jian, why don’t you listen to me and insist on provoking Ye Chen?" Zhou Minghan sighed.

"What’s so special about Ye Chen that makes you so afraid? He’s just a brat, trying to steal my girl. How ridiculous," Zhou Jian scoffed, his expression tinged with anger.

"Shut up! You’re the ridiculous one. This is your first and last warning. If you provoke Ye Chen again, it won’t be just a slap next time," Zhou Minghan’s face lost its tenderness, replaced by fury.

He didn’t understand why his son was so stubborn and insisted on provoking someone even he dared not.

Lying at home, Ye Chen never imagined that the Zhou father and son would clash over him tonight or that he would receive an unexpected blessing.
