Athena stood there, her gaze still locked on the rubble. One single move, and she was surely taking him out in that instant.

There was no movement from the rubble for a long while, and then he blasted out like a rocket, covered in flames from head to toe and with a rage that had spilled over.

"I’ll kill you!" he roared as he shot down, headed for her at a speed that caused a sonic boom, and even then Athena did not look scared or worried. She simply composed herself, raised one hand, her Chaos Eyes and her Third Eye working together as they unleashed an even more terrifying blast. It slammed into the man again. He tried to press through it, but his already wounded body was far too broken to take it.

He was blasted back while his entire body oozed blood. He slammed hard into the ground, rolled, and stopped moving. He was not dead, but he would surely not be attacking again anytime soon.

"We should go before more come," Zero said. She created a space platform and had them stand on it as they took to the air, leaving the area as fast as they could.

A few minutes later, several armed and ready-to-go awakened rushed to the scene. They were stunned by the level of destruction that had come in only a few minutes from the arrival of these attackers.

A few rushed over to the man that Athena had taken down. Looking at his body alone was enough to make them want to throw up. He was heavily wounded, so badly that his insides were showing on the outside.

Two awakened there with the ability to heal immediately started working on him with all their strength. His wounds started closing.

"Who could have done this?" one awakened with a sword on his back asked.

"It has to be someone with a good level of strength, maybe a level fifty and above. After all, he was level forty-something," a lady said while looking at the man that was getting healed.

"Then what would cause an awakened with so much to lose to do this?" the man asked.

"A lot of shit happens that we can’t explain. As for now, they need to find who the person is and where they are before more scenes like this happen," the lady stated.

At that same time, Aren had arrived at his parents’ house, and the moment his feet touched the ground, he frowned. They were not here. Shadow Sense had scanned every part of this house down to the smallest corners, and he could tell that they were not here.

"They are not here," he said in a grim tone.

"Hmm? Maybe they went out?" Aiden asked.

"Possible, but unlikely. We should head to my place," he said.

Zero nodded and took them again. They got to his place pretty quickly, and the moment he touched the ground again, he frowned. They were not here as well.

He was about to speak when he noticed something inside. He rushed forward. The door was locked, but with a twist of the handle, it snapped, and he was in.

On the table was a folded piece of paper. He rushed to it and picked it up. He unfolded it quickly.

I really couldn’t hand this to you in person because I was scared you would kill me. Mum and Dad, along with Sis, have been captured. They were taken away, and they want to use them as bait to lure you out.

The letter ended there. Aren gripped it tightly in his hands. He took deep breaths to calm himself down.

The others walked into the room, and they saw Aren with the letter in his hands.

"Is something wrong?" Aiden asked.

"They captured my parents and my sister," Aren said in a low growl.

The three went silent, the kind of silence that came because you knew that all hell was about to be let loose. They knew that Aren would turn the world upside down for his sister.

Aren looked at the three of them. "I am going to commit great sins against humans today. If you wish to remove your hands from it all, tell me," he said. They could not see his emotions as the mask covered it all.

"Aren, till the end," Aiden said.

"I have the government after all," Zero replied.

"You don’t need to ask," Athena said as well.

Aren smiled and nodded. He was about to think of a plan of action, but his Shadow Sense picked up someone outside.

"Seems we have a guest."

He said and then walked out the door. He looked up, and there he saw a man standing on a spear and flying. He was in a black shirt and black tie. His hair was long, all the way to his waist, and it flowed beautifully in the wind.

He looked down at Aren. He stayed that way for a few seconds and then finally spoke.

"I am guessing you are Shadow," he said.

"If you are here, that means you already knew that I am. No need to play ignorant," Aren said.

"Haha, well, I guess I did know. Just wanted to confirm."

’Why does this dude use "I guess" a lot? What’s his deal?’ Aren thought.

"So are you here to take me in?" Aren asked.

"Take you in? Oh no, no, no," he said with a soft smile, but then the smile got wider, ear to ear.

"I am here to kill you, Shadow," the man said, and then leaped up. Then he kicked the spear down, and it shot like a cannon towards Aren.
