Slime Reincarnation
Chapter 69: Let’s Turn the Demon King Gulaad into Someone Who Was Never There
"Alright, time to take out this Demon King!"
I took out an iron sword from my sub-space compression storage.
Over the magic cloak and mithril armor, I had spent 250 gold coins.
After shopping with Irina and the others, I went to the weapons store and bought the most expensive item there. That was the Storm Mantle and Mithril Armor.
Since I didn’t have any good magic weapons, I bought a high-grade iron sword as material.
With this, Fileontina would probably think I was a human.
But I’m not so kind as to wait until the Demon King Gulaad fully revives.
In a game, the revival scene would play out and then the battle would start. But this is reality. I’ll finish them when I can finish them.
"Hyah!"
From behind, I extended a tentacle from my belly — invisible to Fileontina — and slammed it into the Demon King Gulaad.
"Absorb it!"
Bachiin!
"Tch!"
I thought I could instantly absorb the Demon King with my slime tentacles, but as expected, the Demon King isn’t that easy. He bounced off something like a barrier.
"So there’s a magical shield on his body surface...?"
The feeling of the tentacle failing to absorb him led me to that conclusion.
"Gugogo... Fusonnal monoyo... Walenochinichonagaii!"
The Demon King Gulaad’s stone-like body finally began cracking.
"Tch! . Slizen!"
A countless number of vacuum blades rushed at the Demon King, but all of them were deflected.
"Annoying, huh?"
I sighed.
"Gugaga... Shine! . Thunderbolt!!"
A terrifying lightning bolt rained down from above!
"Shit!"
I raised my left hand overhead.
The incoming lightning, however, didn’t strike Yabe directly. It flowed down the outer wall of the tower. Of course, it didn’t affect Fileontina or the others either.
"Gugogo... Naani...?"
"You wouldn’t understand an old-timer like me, would you?"
I extended my tentacles overhead, split them like a parasol, and laid them out as lightning rods.
For an instant, the lightning rods I had detached from me completely redirected the Demon King Gulaad’s . Thunderbolt into the outer wall of the tower. In that moment, the tower itself transformed into a giant lightning rod.
"Then it’s my turn!"
I instantly closed the distance between myself and the Demon King Gulaad to zero.
. Lightning Bolt!!
I slammed my palm into the Demon King Gulaad’s abdomen and unleashed a full-power . Lightning Bolt!
BOOOOM!
With a tremendous explosion, the Demon King Gulaad’s abdomen flew off. A charred smell filled the air.
"Gugaga... B-Baka na..."
"Haha, surprised? Old news!"
I called my self-invented ultimate move, the . Lightning Bolt.
It was a super-charged version of static electricity. Since the electricity itself wasn’t imbued with magical power, it became a physical attack.
I jumped to chase him and slammed the iron sword down on his head!
...But the iron sword shattered instantly.
"I guess buying a Demon King-killing sword was too much of a cheat."
I tossed the broken sword aside with a wry smile. Only the handle remained.
"Gugogo... Namerna yo!"
The Demon King Gulaad’s abdomen began regenerating.
"There it is... that kind of ability."
I let out another sigh.
"Shine! . Desu Impakuto!"
He fired a black sphere like a single fist made from his six arms.
. Cell Defendo.
I expanded my slime cells like a defensive wall. By liberally wrapping swirling energy around them, I maximized my anti-magic defense. For magical attacks, magic is the best defense.
Bagiin!
A flashy sound as the magic collided.
"Gizamaaaa!"
The four-footed Demon King Gulaad ran closer with clattering steps and unleashed a ferocious attack with his six arms.
While dodging at high speed, I compressed and gathered swirling energy.
I needed the power of the two spirits. The power protecting Fileontina.
The Demon King Gulaad’s six arms attacked wildly. Sword, spear, hammer, blade, axe, staff — six weapons swung at lightning speed.
(So cool!)
Honestly, I was nervous. The pressure was intense. The speed was terrifying too.
For a moment, I switched to the spear and hammer weapons to change the distance.
"Damn it!"
Zubaa!
I misjudged the new distance because I switched weapons at the last second.
Instantly, my right arm was severed at the shoulder.
"Yabe!"
"Big brother!"
"Yabe-sama!"
Wait, Fileontina is calling me by name now.
I thought I still hadn’t properly introduced myself...
Well, maybe she heard from Wintia or Sylphie.
I fired a piano-wire-thin tentacle from my left index finger on the detached right hand, wrapped it around the right hand, and reattached it to my shoulder.
"Wh-What the...!? Are you really human!?"
"What’s impolite is asking that. Did I say I was human?"
I spoke in a voice only the Demon King Gulaad could hear.
"Wha-What!?"
"This is the end. Wintia! Sylphie! Lend me your power! . Horodiniisumechi!!"
A freezing tornado swirled from the Demon King Gulaad’s feet, creating a dragon that froze everything!
"Gugagaga!!"
"Freeze even his very nature! Demon!"
When the tornado settled, the Demon King Gulaad stood there as a frozen ice statue.
"We did it! Yabe!"
"This is wonderful, Big Brother!"
"Yabe-sama, you won!"
"Wait! Don’t come!"
I stopped Fileontina and the others from rushing over.
I borrowed Wintia and Sylphie’s power, but I still needed to stay near Fileontina. The fight wasn’t over yet.
"Gugaga!! You thought you could defeat me!?!"
The Demon King Gulaad shattered the frozen tornado from the inside and charged at me.
That’s what I expected. . Sense Magic showed me that the Demon King Gulaad’s magical power was still not exhausted.
...Of course, just because it wasn’t exhausted didn’t mean it wouldn’t run out. Right now, the Demon King Gulaad’s magical power was on the verge of disappearing.
The . Horodiniisumechi I had cast with Wintia and Sylphie’s power had dealt massive damage to him.
"It’s over."
I declared and fired my ultimate blow with my right hand.
. Torunedia Magunamu!
My cork-screw blow pierced straight through the Demon King Gulaad’s chest plate.
Then I gave an order to my slime cells.
"Absorb!"
"Gigagaga-aaa!!"
My slime cells began absorbing the Demon King Gulaad from the inside of his pierced chest plate. And then he completely vanished.
All that remained were the six weapons he had been using.
"Yabe! This time you’re definitely safe, right?"
"Big Brother... Are you okay?"
"Yabe-sama..."
The three of them rushed over thinking I was safe this time.
Wintia and Sylphie were still flying, though.
"Yeah, I’m fine now. The Demon King Gulaad is gone."
"You really are amazing, Yabe! I’m so moved I can’t stop!"
Wintia hugged me tightly.
"Ahh! Wintia-chan is so sneaky! I want to hug Big Brother too!"
Sylphie hugged me as fiercely as Wintia.
"Um... Yabe-sama... How much power do you really possess...?"
Fileontina asked nervously.
"At least enough to protect you, right?"
"Eh...?"
Fileontina’s cheeks turned bright red.
"Uuuu... When did Yabe become such a scumbag!"
"Big Brother? You’re cool, I admit it, but you can’t drop your principles!"
Somehow I got lectured by both of them. That’s weird.
"By the way, how about we just pretend the Demon King was never there?"
I suddenly declared.
"""...Huh?"""
Wintia, Sylphie, and Fileontina all reacted the same way.
