At the estate, after returning, Penny brought Diamond to a guest room for her to rest while they wait for dinner to be prepared, as well as waiting for Russ and Gael to come over.

During the process, Diamond took a refreshing shower, and changed her clothes into something else. She took off that short that has been disturbing Penny throughout the day and wore a floral dress with thin strips she purchased earlier on this day.

Pairing that with a pair of sandals, and adding a bit of jewelry to adorn herself, before spraying some cologne. She felt fresh and good to go.

As for her beautiful silver hair, she carelessly tied it into a high ponytail since it has gotten so long. Unable to cut it, since it magically grew the next day, Diamond had now learnt to live with it.

It wasn’t actually that bad considering the fact that it wasn’t that heavy. Besides, it was so beautiful. What was there to mind?

While, she was busy preparing herself inside this room, a convoy was entering the estate, and as soon as these cars entered, news reached Penny.

At the same time, Diamond with sharp hearing, despite having lost her cultivation thanks to that cursed book, also heard it. However, she didn’t show much enthusiasm. After all, the person arriving wasn’t Gael but someone else’s husband. Why should she act so happy about it?

So, she minded her own business as she waited for Penny to come and take her out later. Although she acted like she wasn’t seeing it, Penny’s jealousy and pettiness was something that she had experienced and got fed up with during the day. If it weren’t for Gracelynn, she would have left ages ago.

It was a good thing that they would not be meeting each other that much in the future.

Meanwhile, on Penny’s side, when she heard from the butler that her husband had arrived. She was very happy and excited. She checked herself in the mirror to make sure that her looks were on point. She was dressed gracefully, a long skirt that clenched her waist and a blouse that showcased her features without being too tied. She still couldn’t dress like Diamond, but her own way still made her look beautiful in her own way.

Finding her appearance much to her liking, she took in a deep breath before leaving the bedroom that she shared with Russ and headed outside, quite eager to welcome her husband. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

Meanwhile, outside, inside one of the three cars approaching the mansion in the estate, a man with a beautiful pair of green eyes, looked quite stoic with a little expression as he swiped the screen, reading something on it.

"We are here, Sir."

When the man heard that, he raised his head, revealing that pair of piercing deep green eyes that convey both warmth and a quiet watchful intensity.

He grunted a response as he locked the screen before looking towards the mansion entrance where his wife was waiting, dressed meticulously like always. His eyes dimmed for some reason and looked away.

A few moments later, he alighted from the car once the door was opened. Someone was holding his bag and other things he returned with from work.

"Russ, you are back!" Penny warmly welcomed, her eyes twinkling with deep emotions she could barely hide.

He looked at her, the emotions in his eyes very deep but unreadable.

He hummed in response but she acted like she had received a deep response and responded with vigor, starting her daily chatter as they headed inside.

In just a short span, Russ learnt that the day was great, she had brought back Diamond for dinner and that Gael, Diamond’s boyfriend was also coming for dinner. She had invited him.

She always knows that he loves it when she gives him quick reports without beating around the bush. He didn’t have such patience to listen to the whole drama. Ladies at times tend to talk too much and spent too much time talking and yet speak nothing of substance. They just waste so much time but who really has the patience?

He had none to speak about.

Penny fortunately knew about that and always knows how to make things work in her favor. After reporting everything that should be for now, she didn’t forget to say to him as they both went to the master bedroom, "I shall not be going with you. I need to go and call Diamond over," sounding very considerate.

He didn’t look at her but hummed in response showing that he understands.

A glint of pain flickered in her eyes so fast but quickly vanished as a smile remained on her face.

"I will see you with Diamond downstairs in a bit," she added and without waiting for his response made her exit.

Russ didn’t bother to turn his head to look at her but continued to walk towards the bedroom, where he didn’t take much time to freshen up.

There were guests at home, and it would be unwise and impolite to keep them waiting.

Meanwhile, after Penny left Russ, she clenched her fists, turbid emotions swirling inside of her as she recalled the cold reception and responses. Although she was used to them, on such a day, she felt as if she was being poured icy water all over. The thought of receiving the same cold response in front of Diamond, one person she felt she didn’t want to lose against, her emotions were mixed.

And when she stopped in front of the guest room she had given to Diamond, she stood there and took deep breaths, calming her emotions down. No matter how bad she was feeling right now, letting Diamond notice that she was struggling and that it wasn’t gold that glitters, she felt that she would lose.

Unfortunately for her, Diamond had already read her from the very first second, she stepped into this house. Penny was an open book and Diamond honestly didn’t care to compare or compete with others. What does she gain from doing something so stupid like that?

After taking a few breathers, Penny’s expression was back to that warm and welcoming host. She gently and politely knocked the door three times before stopping. There was no need to rush. She needed to give the other party a chance to respond, after all.
