Remarriage Failed Again Today
Chapter 420: I Can’t Learn How to Let Go 3
A smile touched Aaron Wyatt’s lips as he spoke, but he added with a hint of regret, "It’s hard to believe we’re getting engaged the day after tomorrow. It’s just a shame we have to wait until Ryan graduates in a month to have the wedding."
And once the wedding was over, they would leave this place for good.
He hadn’t said that last part aloud, but they both knew what he was thinking.
Annabelle Linton tilted her head and smiled at him, saying lightly, "What’s the rush?"
"Of course I’m in a rush," Aaron Wyatt said earnestly. "I’ve been waiting for this moment for a very long time."
Annabelle Linton paused for a moment, then smiled. Changing the subject, she continued from where they’d left off. "I think we’ve bought everything on our list. All that’s left is..."
"The rings," Aaron Wyatt said, cutting her off with a smile. He pushed open the glass door to Tiffany and ushered her inside. "All that’s left are the wedding and engagement rings," he added, still smiling.
’Rings...’ The word felt like a bee sting to Leona Grant’s heart—the pain was swift and fierce.
He took the ring Annabelle Linton had left behind from his pocket. He placed it in his palm, staring at it for a moment before clenching his fist tightly around it, his eyes filled with anguish.
’So soon... she’ll have another ring, a new status, another husband...’
’The invitation arrived ages ago. Why can’t I just accept reality?’
He tore his gaze away and looked back through the glass window.
The moment Annabelle Linton and Aaron Wyatt walked in, a sales associate greeted them enthusiastically. "Mr. Wyatt."
The associate’s gaze shifted past him to Annabelle Linton, and her eyes instantly lit up. "Linton!"
Annabelle Linton nodded slightly and smiled at her. "Shirley."
Aaron Wyatt gave Annabelle Linton a puzzled look. "You know each other?" he asked in surprise.
"Mhm. She’s the younger sister of a college classmate. I shop here a lot, so we got acquainted."
Shirley was very outgoing. Her eyes widened at the sight of the handsome man as she asked excitedly, "Linton, and this is...?"
"I’m her fiancé," Aaron Wyatt replied, earnestly taking Annabelle Linton’s hand.
Shirley gave Annabelle Linton a confused look. Annabelle knew what she was thinking—Shirley was aware of her past relationship with Leona Grant.
With the wedding approaching, she had been keeping invitations on hand. Instead of explaining, Annabelle Linton simply smiled and took one out of her purse.
Her smile was poised and graceful as she handed the invitation to Shirley. "He’s my fiancé and my future husband. We’re getting engaged the day after tomorrow and married in a month. This is our invitation. I already gave one to your sister, but you’re welcome to come along too."
"Of course, of course! I’ll definitely be there!"
Shirley understood. She looked at Aaron Wyatt with open admiration. ’How does Linton always find such dashing, distinguished, and wealthy men?’
’This Mr. Wyatt ordered a ring from us a long time ago. The commission from that one ring was a whole month’s worth of sales! I just never imagined he was marrying Linton.’
Shirley looked at the couple, her voice sweet and bubbly. "Linton and Mr. Wyatt, you two are truly the perfect pair—a talented man and a beautiful woman. A match made in heaven! I’ve never seen a couple so well-suited for each other~"
"You think so?" Those words were music to Aaron Wyatt’s ears.
"Yes! Absolutely! I wouldn’t lie to you—if I am, may my late grandma’s ghost come lecture me in my dreams tonight!"
Her animated antics made both Annabelle Linton and Aaron Wyatt laugh.
The three of them chatted for a bit, and Shirley found herself growing genuinely happy for Annabelle Linton.
’This Mr. Wyatt is so much better than that Mr. Grant.’
