Rejected by the Campus Belle, I Find My True Love
Chapter 560 - 558: He Lets Whoever He Wants Manage
She pulled Xue Yang down to sit, casually grabbing a cup of the shop’s new milk tea for him.
The two sat together in the milk tea shop, watching people come and go.
When Song Fan and Deng Baoling were so busy they could barely attend to all the customers, Xue Yang would stand up and help pass around the tempting milk teas. His movements were skilled and graceful, adding a touch of warmth to the small shop.
As time passed, the number of customers in the milk tea shop gradually climbed, and its popularity soared.
However, the milk tea was about to sell out.
"Boss, what should we do?"
"What else is there to do? Since the milk tea is sold out, we can only close for now," Xue Yang answered calmly, as if he had expected this all along.
"What? But..." Song Fan looked at the long line of people, feeling as if she were watching her money fly away. She was on the verge of tears. "If I had known, I would have prepared more ingredients," she whimpered.
"That’s not necessary. From now on, just prepare the same amount as you did today."
"But Boss, I predict we’ll have even more customers tomorrow! We should prepare more than today, at the very least. Why would we prepare the same amount?"
"Don’t worry about it. Just do as I say. Starting tomorrow, gradually reduce the amount of ingredients you prepare each day. Just make sure the milk tea shop doesn’t lose money."
Although Song Fan didn’t understand her boss’s approach, she chose to follow his instructions. Maybe... the boss really isn’t short on cash.
With their milk tea supply dwindling, Song Fan quickly grabbed the shop’s megaphone and announced to the queueing customers, "We’re very sorry, but our milk tea is about to sell out! Please come earlier tomorrow."
The words had barely left her mouth when a slight stir went through the previously orderly queue.
"What? I just got here, and you’re telling me it’s sold out? Did I make this trip for nothing?" one customer complained in disappointment.
"There’s nothing to be done, they’ve sold out. It’s useless for us to get angry. It’s our own fault for coming too late," another customer said comfortingly. "But I heard the supermarket next door is having a buy-one-get-one-free sale. Want to go check it out?"
"Really? That must be a great deal. I’ve got to hurry over."
Following the customer’s suggestion, more and more people responded, leaving the milk tea shop and heading for the neighboring supermarket.
As she watched the crowd at the milk tea shop’s entrance gradually shift toward the supermarket, Song Fan finally understood her boss’s strategy. He had planned all along to control the quantity of milk tea, cleverly diverting customer traffic to the supermarket next door.
Song Fan couldn’t help but marvel. What a brilliant move.
As evening fell, Xue Yang unexpectedly received a call from a grateful Jiang Wei, who warmly invited him and Lin Xi to dinner.
She excitedly told Xue Yang that after careful treatment from the medical team, her mother’s condition had improved significantly and she would be discharged from the hospital soon. As for Jiang Sisi, the adorable little girl had recovered and was already back in kindergarten.
Both her mother and the child were eager to invite Xue Yang over to express their gratitude. Her mother felt she couldn’t rest easy until she had thanked him in person for his kindness, while Sisi simply missed and adored him.
"Xue Yang, I really can’t thank you enough for that day. If it weren’t for you, I truly don’t know what I would have done," Jiang Wei’s voice was filled with gratitude.
"You’re too kind, Sister Jiang. It was nothing special. Sisi was very well-behaved and quiet all night," Xue Yang responded humbly.
"But if it weren’t for you and Lin Xi that day, I don’t know how long Sisi would have cried. In any case, I owe you another favor," Jiang Wei said earnestly.
Xue Yang simply smiled and said no more.
At that moment, Zhang Yang joined their conversation. With an air of casualness that hid a deliberate subtext, he proceeded to demonstrate his special bond with Sisi for Xue Yang’s benefit.
He smiled at Sisi and said, "Sisi, tell Daddy what you want to eat most today. Daddy will get it for you."
"Okay, thank you, Daddy," Sisi replied sweetly, her eyes sparkling with affection and reliance on her father.
Then, she turned to Xue Yang and asked in her childish voice, "Brother Xue Yang, what about you? What would you like to eat?"
Xue Yang smiled back. "Hmm, I’d like to try the ribs."
Hearing his answer, Sisi sprang into action. Despite her small size, she pushed herself to her feet. She painstakingly managed to pick up a piece of rib with her tiny hands and carefully placed it in Xue Yang’s bowl. The scene was filled with warmth and innocence.
Zhang Yang was speechless.
They say a daughter’s heart is meant for another, but isn’t mine getting an early start? Besides, the guy already has a girlfriend.
For a moment, Zhang Yang felt quite vexed.
"Mr. Zhang, were you working abroad before?" Xue Yang asked.
"Yes, I only recently returned to the country," Zhang Yang replied.
"A talent like you, returning from overseas, must have major domestic companies fighting to hire you," Xue Yang said.
"You flatter me." Zhang Yang smiled modestly, then changed the subject. "However, I didn’t come back this time to join a large corporation."
"Oh? What are your plans, then?" Xue Yang asked curiously.
Zhang Yang took a deep breath, his gaze firm. "During my years abroad, I was exposed to many advanced technologies and management models, and I also built up considerable experience and a network of contacts. But I’ve always felt that as a citizen of Hua Country, I have my own responsibilities and mission. I want to bring what I’ve learned back home to help the people and businesses that truly need it."
"You mean..." Xue Yang ventured.
"I want to partner with small and medium-sized enterprises that have great potential but limited resources, and build a future together," Zhang Yang said seriously. "I know they might lack capital, technology, and talent, but they possess a unique spirit of innovation and keen market insight. I want to use my experience and resources to provide them with services like market analysis, strategic planning, and guidance on financing."
As he spoke, his gaze drifted, intentionally or not, toward Lin Xi. "Miss Lin, what do you think of my idea?"
Hearing this, Xue Yang raised an eyebrow. So, he’s here for Xiao Xi.
Lin Xi felt Zhang Yang’s gaze but merely responded coolly, "I generally don’t get involved in business matters."
Zhang Yang smiled gently, trying to steer the conversation. "I’m afraid I have to disagree, Miss Lin. The Lin Corporation will be in your hands one day. If you don’t take an interest, who else is qualified to?"
Lin Xi blinked, her tone still placid. "My father has his own plans. He can have whoever he wants manage it."
Zhang Yang was taken aback, not expecting such a response from her.
