Rebirth: Pampered by the Lord
Chapter 2214: Annoyed
The medicines in the Imperial Palace are of the highest quality, fundamentally different from the cheap ones outside. Moreover, the medical skills are also top-notch; otherwise, one wouldn’t even qualify to become an Imperial Physician in the Imperial Medical Bureau.
With an injury like Celestial Master Zhang’s, just applying the premium ointment from the Imperial Palace can relieve pain immediately. Such painkillers are virtually nonexistent among the common folk, and even if they were available, they would be hard to procure, accessible only to those with immense wealth, and unattainable for ordinary families.
Lady Zhang knelt on the ground, kowtowing several times toward the Fourth Prince, her face filled with gratitude as she said, "I thank the Fourth Prince."
The Fourth Prince’s intervention provided much reassurance to Lady Zhang. After all, she was just a common woman, and faced with such a significant event, being at a loss was inevitable.
The Fourth Prince waved his hand and said, "There’s no need to be so formal, madam. Celestial Master Zhang has labored diligently for Wei Country, so it is only right for me to help."
The smell of blood in the room was too strong, and the atmosphere too oppressive. After staying awhile, the Fourth Prince stepped out.
The Imperial Physicians arrived surprisingly quickly, just as the Fourth Prince had yet to finish his cup of tea. Two Imperial Physicians hurried over, carrying their medical kits.
Upon further inquiries, it was revealed that The Emperor was very concerned about Celestial Master Zhang’s injury and had sent two Imperial Physicians to tend to him. On the way, they encountered the people sent by the Fourth Prince, so they came together.
"Enough with the words, hurry and tend to Celestial Master Zhang. He’s in such pain he smashed everything in the room," the Fourth Prince recalled the chaotic scene inside and told the two Imperial Physicians.
The steward had been waiting on the side and, hearing the Fourth Prince’s words, quickly led the two Imperial Physicians to Celestial Master Zhang’s chamber.
Lady Zhang was still weeping in the room. Before the steward even entered, he shouted loudly from outside, "Madam, stop crying, the Imperial Physicians are here!"
On hearing this, Lady Zhang quickly wiped her tears and rushed out, anxiously asking, "Where are the Imperial Physicians?"
The steward pointed to the two Imperial Physicians behind him, flatteringly saying, "Madam, these are the Imperial Physicians, just rushed here from the Imperial Palace. Now Celestial Master Zhang will be saved."
The two Imperial Physicians said, "Yes, we were sent by The Emperor to treat Celestial Master Zhang."
Lady Zhang was momentarily stunned and asked, "The Emperor? Wasn’t it the Fourth Prince who invited you?"
The Imperial Physician chuckled and replied, "Sort of. We met the Fourth Prince’s men as soon as we exited the palace gates and came together with them."
Lady Zhang didn’t care much for the details and quickly said, "Hurry and tend to Old Master. He’s in unbearable pain, rolling around on the bed. Oh, Old Master is truly pitiful."
Saying this, Lady Zhang began to cry again. The suffering of Old Master was painful for her to witness.
The two Imperial Physicians said no more, slinging their medical kits over their backs and rushing into the room.
However, after a short while, the two Imperial Physicians came out again, faces filled with worry, their clothes thoroughly disheveled, looking as if they’d just been in a fight.
Lady Zhang anxiously approached, pitifully asking, "Doctor, what about Old Master? He seems to be still in a lot of pain. Isn’t your medicine effective?"
From the room continued to come the sound of Celestial Master Zhang’s agonized cries, causing one’s heart to pound and nerves to tighten. Naturally, Lady Zhang was extremely distressed.
The Imperial Physician replied irritably, "We haven’t even applied the medicine yet; of course, he’s in pain."
Earlier, while they were in the room trying to apply medicine to Celestial Master Zhang, he would move around and refuse to cooperate, leaving them soaked in sweat and unable to complete the task assigned to them by The Emperor, which left them quite annoyed.
