Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space
Chapter 1083: By the Sea
The next day, Li Yungui saw Liu Cuilan being very cautious. He didn’t pay much attention to her, knowing that telling her to go back to her parent’s home was unrealistic.
They had been married for so many years and had four sons; it wasn’t something that could be easily done.
However, he was truly disheartened. So, he decided to just live with it.
Now, Li Yungui was worried about Guodong. He wasn’t sure if he was back yet. The main concern was the amount of money.
His mood was a bit restless. As he was leaving work today, Tao Chunhe happened to run into Li Yungui.
"Village Chief Li, I would like to ask for some time off to go and buy a few things."
"Alright, tomorrow then."
It’s not easy to go out; you can’t make it back in half a day.
"Thank you, Village Chief Li."
Li Yungui waved his hand. These three behaved better than all the educated youths; there was no need to make things difficult for them.
The weeds in the field were almost cleared, so there was no rush.
"Are you all three going together?"
Tao Chunhe laughed, thinking how perceptive Village Chief Li was.
"Yes, the two younger sisters want to go buy some things."
"Go early and come back early."
After giving his instructions, he headed to the chicken farm. The weather was too hot, so all the chickens were divided into cages and weren’t laying as many eggs as before. He was worried about the chickens getting sick.
However, before Jiang Xinyu left, she had explained everything, and the heat prevention measures were quite well done.
At least there weren’t any cases of dead chickens.
Wen Zhenzong and the others were also being very careful, afraid of any problems. The hygiene was well maintained, and the benefits of the big windows were apparent.
The temperature in the chicken coop was still manageable. They also controlled the feed. Although the egg production wasn’t as high as before, the chickens were all quite healthy.
Li Yungui now visited several times a day; he was truly worried.
Wei Kaiyun didn’t leave during the day, mainly because he was afraid the children would suffer from heatstroke.
They traveled at a leisurely pace, taking three days to finally reach the seaside.
After inquiring, they found out where Old Yang and the others were staying, so they drove directly there.
Shi Jing was so happy to see Mom and Dad and his siblings that he jumped up. In the past few days, he and Jianbin had been having a blast playing, getting along well with the local kids, and not even eating at home anymore.
Old Yang wasn’t concerned at all about the kids spending money on food. Besides, it didn’t cost much here.
Shi Xian saw his brother and kept reaching towards him.
Wei Kaiyun put him down, and Shi Jing squatted in front of Shi Xian, smiling and teasing him.
Jiang Xinyu, carrying Tingting, went straight into the house. Jing Chu and Feifei, the two girls, were not at home; they had gone out to play. They had made a lot of friends and went to see them work.
Because Old Yang had arranged a lot of seafood with the village chief here. Of course, it was all dried seafood, so the girls peeled shrimp every day.
Zhao Xiaoli came out, holding Ah Bao. "Xinyu, how was the trip?"
"It was so hot, and Shi Xian was always fussing. It wasn’t easy getting here, and that’s with us driving ourselves. If we had taken the train, I’m afraid Shi Xian would have gotten sick."
Ah Bao saw Jiang Xinyu and smiled at her. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"Ah Bao, how about going inside to play with your sister?" Right now, Jiang Xinyu was eager to take a shower. It was really uncomfortable.
Wei Kaiyun also carried their luggage inside. Shi Jing showed his dad their room. He and Jianbin took Shi Xian’s hand and slowly strolled around the courtyard.
Only after Jiang Xinyu finished her shower did she feel alive again, feeling much more relaxed.
"You should go take a shower too."
As it approached evening, Jing Chu and Feifei returned.
Seeing the car outside, they knew their parents had arrived.
Now the whole family was finally reunited. Shi Xian was the happiest, finally not having to sit in the car anymore.
The next day, Jiang Xinyu stayed home to rest while Wei Kaiyun and Old Yang handled the fishmeal and shell powder business, as there was still a driver waiting here.
"Xinyu, I heard from Old Yang that he ordered 500 pounds of shrimp, along with a lot of shellfish meat."
"That’s great, it’s good for the kids to eat more shrimp. Just a shame we can’t get fresh shrimp at this time."
"We can come again in winter."
"It’s not that easy. We should let them take some back. Xiao Li, are you leaving early this time?" Jiang Xinyu teased Zhao Xiaoli.
"Indeed, I feel the summer here is more comfortable than back home."
"I don’t feel that way. Don’t you find it sticky here?"
"No, I find it quite comfortable."
"Haha, that’s great. I’m taking today, and tomorrow we’ll start collecting the goods.
We’ll stay a few more days and then head back."
"It wasn’t easy coming all this way, and we’re going back so soon?"
"Xiao Li, don’t you remember how long it took us to get here? And how many days have you been here?"
Zhao Xiaoli sighed, "True, we’re heading back already."
"Haha, if we never go back, Li Yungui might not let us out next time."
It’s best to strike a balance; otherwise, there won’t be a next time.
That evening, Wei Kaiyun finally got to hold his wife. "Later, I’ll take the two little ones to the seaside to see the fishing boats and watch the sunrise over the sea."
Wei Kaiyun understood his wife’s hint to finish quickly. After thinking it over, he obediently stopped after just one time.
At three in the morning, the couple each carried a child, with the three older ones following them. This was their version of a family outing.
"Mom, we’ve seen several sunrises now. It’s not that special anymore.
What I really want to see now are the fishing boats. The fish we had yesterday was so good. Xiao Hai told me that his family has this kind of dried fish, Mom, can we buy some to take back?" Shi Jing chatted away.
Jiang Xinyu replied, smiling, "Sure, no problem. If you like it, we’ll buy more of it."
"Mom, Xiao Hai said they have the shrimp skins you wanted ready. Afraid they’d spoil on the road, they dried them again."
"Good, good. You can write to Xiao Hai later. If we can’t come in the winter, they can prepare it for us."
"Mom, Xiao Hai can’t read either."
"I see, then we’ll have to send a message through someone. But we can get them to prepare it for us in advance."
"Great, we won’t have to eat dried ones in winter."
Wei Kaiyun looked at his daughter, "Feifei, are you tired? Daddy can carry you."
"Dad, I’m not tired. It’s really not much of a walk."
The family strolled to the seaside. The three children had been coming almost daily to watch the fishing boats come ashore, so they knew the spot, and the family waited there.
Jiang Xinyu handed Tingting to Wei Kaiyun. She took off her shoes, rolled up her pant legs, and waded in the seawater. The three older children followed suit.
Feeling the soft sand beneath her feet, Jiang Xinyu found it particularly soothing.
Hearing a sound behind her, Jiang Xinyu turned with a smile, realizing it was Old Yang and his family.
Zhao Xiaoli, seeing Jiang Xinyu’s actions, also removed her shoes.
