Raising the Villainess Was Supposed to Be Easy… Right?
Chapter 51: Headmaster of Livden Academy
Sera nodded as she watched Edmund walk into Livden Academy. Leonor and the others began lining up in the queue for lowborn student registration.
"Look at that! Isn’t it strange? They came out of Viscount Edmund’s carriage, yet they’re registering as lowborn students."
"HAHA! Maybe they only have talent equal to those pathetic lowborn children."
Leonor heard every word and intended to snap back at them. Those insults were unacceptable toward her and her friends.
However, Sera managed to stop her. The woman reminded Leonor to remember Edmund’s advice.
Slowly, the anger in her heart subsided, and she continued walking through the gates to join the line. Natalie and the others did the same thing Sera had done with Leonor.
Since Denise and the others came from an orphanage, Natalie and the other three instructors did not mind becoming their guardians.
Elsewhere, Edmund pushed open the doors of Livden Academy and stepped inside.
Wearing a nobleman’s shirt and a fur-lined cloak, Edmund was naturally easy to recognize.
One of the academy instructors turned and noticed Edmund Aschwin’s arrival.
She quickly approached him, hoping to catch his attention.
"Welcome, Viscount Aschwin. Is there anything I can help you with?" asked the instructor, a young woman.
"Could you take me to the Headmaster’s office?"
"O-Of course. Please follow me," the female instructor replied.
They walked through a vast hall with towering pillars, a place normally used by the academy to gather all its students.
Edmund looked ahead and saw two staircases on the left and right leading to the second floor.
Edmund himself had once studied at Livden Academy.
He had been quite talented and accomplished, graduating after only two years, while most students graduated during their third year.
"It’s been two years since I came here. It doesn’t seem like much has changed," Edmund commented.
"That’s true. But I’m a new instructor. You probably don’t recognize me from your time studying here," the woman replied.
"Yeah. You look unfamiliar."
The woman only gave a brief smile. Simply having a conversation with Edmund was more than enough to make her happy.
She could brag about this moment to the other instructors who might never be as fortunate as she was.
The second floor was lined with classrooms on both sides.
The distinction was obvious. These classrooms were used for lowborn students. There were ten rooms in total, nine classrooms and one lowborn instructor office.
The place looked simple and far from luxurious. The classrooms themselves appeared ordinary. Even so, the area was clean and well organized, enough to make lowborn students feel comfortable.
They continued climbing the stairs and arrived at the third floor, where there were fifteen rooms in total: nine classrooms, two instructor rooms, and four magic and swordsmanship training rooms.
"Do lowborn students still practice magic and swordsmanship in the outdoor field?" Edmund asked.
"That’s right. It gives them more freedom."
No... it only makes them different from the highborn.
Training outdoors... exposed to heat and rain, not to mention the dusty and dirty ground.
However, the Headmaster’s office was not on the third floor. They continued climbing until they reached the fifth floor.
The fourth floor was usually reserved for the elders of each class and division, mainly for student administration.
Edmund stepped onto the fifth floor. There were only three rooms there. Two stood on the left and right, while one sat in the center of the hallway.
Out of those three rooms, the Headmaster’s office was located precisely in the middle.
"This way, Viscount Aschwin," the female instructor said while gesturing forward.
Edmund nodded and continued walking behind her. Once they arrived before the center room, the woman raised her hand and gently knocked on the door.
"Come in," answered a man with a rough voice from inside the room.
The door opened, and the woman stepped inside while Edmund remained outside. She informed the Headmaster that Viscount Aschwin had come to visit.
"Really? Let him in," the elderly man replied, instructing the female instructor.
Edmund heard the man’s voice and entered alone after opening the other door.
Now, standing before him, were five people inside the room. Three wore white-and-blue robes, while the other two wore academy instructor uniforms.
"Viscount Edmund. Welcome to Livden Academy," the Headmaster greeted him. The nameplate on his desk informed Edmund of the man’s name.
"Thank you, Headmaster Nolan," Edmund replied.
"You two may leave. I need to speak with Viscount Edmund," Nolan instructed the two instructors.
They excused themselves and departed, leaving Edmund alone with the three people in white-and-blue robes before him.
Nolan was clearly the Headmaster, while the other two were Vice Headmasters.
"Edmund?" one of the Vice Headmasters asked, a middle-aged woman.
"Master Silvana?" Edmund greeted her.
"So you’ve grown up well. Everyone in the academy already knows about your achievements," Silvana replied. The silver-haired woman had a beautiful face, a slender figure, and a large chest.
Edmund smiled, stepped closer to her, and lowered his head slightly in respect.
That’s right. Master Silvana had been Edmund’s instructor during his time at Livden Academy.
She was also the master who taught Edmund swordsmanship, which he later refined into his own original sword style.
"You also look well, Master Silvana."
"I’m happy to see you doing well," Edmund said.
Silvana smiled warmly, reaching out to gently caress Edmund’s cheek. Among the thousands of students she had taught, only Edmund consistently made her proud.
"I’m happy with your achievements. I’m very proud of you, Viscount Edmund."
Nolan stepped forward and said that he and everyone else at the academy were proud as well.
Now they could proudly boast that Livden Academy had produced an outstanding student like Edmund Aschwin.
"Tell us, Viscount Edmund."
"What brings you all the way to our office?" Nolan asked.
"I have five friends who want to join the academy as instructors. They intend to register as lowborn instructors," Edmund explained.
The three of them were visibly confused. They knew Edmund was a noble, and they were certain his friends were nobles as well.
However, what they never expected was for Edmund’s friends to register as lowborn instructors.
"And they also want to register as class instructors."
Nolan glanced toward the two Vice Headmasters before their attention returned to Edmund. "Who are they?" 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"Natalie. Lyla. Rosie. Luna, and lastly... Sera Aimard."
"Sera Aimard?" asked the other Vice Headmaster named Nash.
Not only Nash, but Nolan and Silvana were shocked as well. Besides Edmund being the greatest knight in the Archie Territory, Sera Aimard was also famous as the strongest mage in the territory.
"Sera Aimard as a lowborn class instructor? But why?"
"With her abilities and understanding of magic, she could train talented highborn students into geniuses," Nash explained.
Edmund fell silent for a moment before admitting that he did not know. The decision was entirely the wish of the five women themselves, and Edmund had no right to interfere.
"No. I disagree!"
"Lady Sera is far more suitable as a highborn mage class instructor," Nash insisted.
Edmund turned and stared sharply at Nash. Silvana rose from her seat and walked toward Edmund.
"I won’t interfere. Lady Sera’s decision must come from her own wishes, correct?" Silvana asked.
"That’s right, Master Silvana."
"If you refuse Lady Sera’s decision, I’ll advise her to join Astra Academy instead," Edmund answered.
"No!" all three of them responded at the same time in front of Edmund.
Nolan let out a soft sigh. "Whatever happens, just don’t let her join Astra Academy."
"So, what’s your decision?" Edmund asked.
Nolan responded with a slow nod. "I agree, but on one condition."
"What is it?" Edmund asked.
"Lady Sera... must agree to personally train the academy’s five most talented mage students."
