Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law
Chapter 900 - 1: A Silhouette in the Painting
Golden Kirin Garden, Horne Family Villa.
Julia Bluen came out of the house holding a milk bottle and walked towards Rachel, who was sitting at the table under the tree. Rachel was holding an eight or nine-month-old baby girl, who was plump and fair, very lovable, and looked especially like Jimmy Horne.
"Rachel."
Julia walked over, placed the milk bottle on the table, and smiled lightly: "The formula is ready."
The little girl in Rachel's arms saw the milk bottle and immediately reached out her chubby little hands to grab it. Rachel quickly picked up the bottle, "Baby, Grandma will hold it."
This little girl was actually the second daughter of Josh Reyes, meaning Jimmy Horne and Camila Ruiz. Their first child was a son, now already four years old. Noah Reyes and his wife wanted to keep the grandson with them to raise him, but Camila couldn't bear to be separated from her children, so Jimmy politely declined his parents' request, and both their children lived with their parents in T City.
Julia slowly sat down, smiling as she watched the baby hold the bottle and drink the formula. Her well-maintained face was full of envy as she said to Rachel: "Ivan, Jimmy, and Camila are all the same age. Now Jimmy and Camila both have two kids, while my Ivan is still single, almost stepping through the door of thirty years old, and doesn't even have a shadow of a girlfriend."
"I urge him, but I'm afraid he'll resent me for meddling in his personal affairs. This son has grown up and doesn't listen to his mother anymore."
Rachel comforted her: "Don't worry, Ivan's time hasn't come yet. When his time comes, he'll naturally get married and have children. For such an outstanding man as him, I think no girl in our circle is worthy of him."
"Isn't everyone the same with a pair of eyes, a mouth, two ears?"
Rachel laughed, "How can you talk about your son like that? Who doesn't envy you for having two good sons? Ivan is your pride."
"I don't want to interfere in his other affairs. I just hope he can get married and have children soon, so I can also enjoy the taste of holding grandchildren. Even if he isn't eager to get married, he should at least have a love affair. He hasn't even been in love, sometimes I even suspect he might be inclined differently."
Rachel laughed out loud.
Her little granddaughter saw her laughing and started giggling too, even stopped drinking formula. The baby's adorable silly manner made the two grandma-aged women laugh even louder.
Julia eagerly said, "Rachel, let me hold the baby and feed her the formula."
Rachel generously handed her granddaughter over to Julia.
"This little girl looks so much like Jimmy, she'll be an enchanting beauty when she grows up." Julia couldn't help but kiss the little baby's fair face a couple of times.
"Yes, just like Jimmy. Camila always says that the two children are hers but look more like Jimmy."
Julia smiled.
Camila's complaints were something they all had experienced when they were young.
The villa gate opened.
A black Mercedes drove in along the cement road until it stopped at the main house entrance.
"Isn't that Jimmy's car?" Julia identified one of Jimmy's many cars.
Rachel looked and agreed, "It's his."
Jimmy Horne was already getting out of the car. He opened the rear door and took out something, carrying it directly towards Julia.
The little baby saw Jimmy Horne and was very happy, stopped drinking formula, gripping Julia's hand to stand up, and stretched out her fair hands towards Jimmy, her smile exceedingly bright as she giggled and waved her arms and legs.
"Jimmy, what's this? A picture frame or a mounted painting?"
Rachel stood up and approached curiously to ask.
"Mom, this is a painting."
Jimmy replied, "Let my aunt take a look. This person in the painting β is it my brother? I'm afraid I might be mistaken, so I specifically bought the painting to bring back for my aunt to confirm."
As he spoke, he moved closer and placed the mounted painting on the table. Seeing his beloved daughter joyfully waving her arms, he immediately took her from Julia's hands.
Being held by her father, the little girl was content and reached out to Julia again. Julia handed her the milk bottle, which she took and continued drinking her formula.
"Aunt, take a look at this painting. Is the person in it my brother? I saw it at a gallery while on a business trip to River City and bought it." After kissing his daughter, Jimmy remarked to Julia.
Julia looked at the painting.
The man in the painting was not facing forward, only showing his back, and he was not alone. There were many people coming and going around him, the background seemed like an airport.
Yet the focus of the painting was this man's back.
He had a tall build, was dressed in a black suit, his stride suggested a brisk walking pace. Among so many people, whether from the front or the back, none stood out like his silhouette.
The creator of the painting had exceptional skills, even depicting a man's back conveyed his kingly aura.
Julia was extremely familiar with this silhouette, as it was very much like her eldest son Ivan Horne.
"Who painted this? This back view really resembles Ivan. Jimmy, you said this painting was bought from River City? Ivan hasn't been to River City, right?" Julia was almost sure the painting's main character was her eldest son, but Ivan hadn't been to River City, how could someone paint his silhouette?
"The artist is a young girl named Lia Aiken, she's twenty-five, the eldest daughter of the Aiken Family in River City, but she's not favored. Her birth mother died early, and her father remarried and had more children. In the Aiken Family, she's practically transparent. Though she opened a gallery, it's business isn't good. Despite that, when I wanted to purchase this painting, she refused, saying it had significant meaning to her, only displaying it without selling. I had to find her weak spot to finally buy the painting."
Jimmy Horne even delved into the artist's background.
As the heir apparent of the Blaze Gate and current CEO of Black Emperor Group, Jimmy Horne is exceptionally skilled at gathering information.
"Lia Aiken came to T City three years ago. If the person in the painting is truly my brother, it's likely Lia saw him at the airport and depicted his silhouette."
Jimmy told Julia what he knew.
"It's very well painted. How old is the artist, twenty-five? Having this level of achievement, it's truly impressive." Rachel praised.
Julia nodded, noticing the painting's completion was dated three years ago. Lia was only twenty-two then, yet she created such a lifelike piece. With time's passage and experience's depth, Lia would surely become a renowned painter.
At this moment, the villa gate opened again.
The same black car, another Mercedes, drove in.
"Speak of the devil, and he appears."
Jimmy Horne chuckled. The incoming car belonged to his cousin Ivan Horne.
A few minutes later, the tall and handsome Ivan Horne walked over, smiling from afar: "Mom, why are you all sitting here?"
The little girl, seeing her handsome uncle, reached out her fair hands again, waiting for Ivan to hold her.
Ivan Horne gathered the child into his arms, "Nina has gained weight."
"She eats and sleeps well, easy to gain weight." Jimmy Horne fondly pinched his daughter's chubby cheek, loving her deeply, even his son had to take the back seat.
"Nina's not really chubby." π³ππππππππ πππ.π°π π¦
Rachel chimed in, loving her granddaughter's plumpness.
"What's this?" Ivan Horne's gaze finally landed on the painting.
Julia turned the painting towards him.
