Planet Vs Aliens: Space User Saves the World
Chapter 93: Stockpiling in Varma
She drove to the next town and began another round of fleecing. As mentioned, it was farther from the mines, and the quality of stones (i.e. the chances of a winning gamble) was less.
She studied the average rate of success, which was less than half of the other side, so she adjusted her stone ’opening’ accordingly.
Even so, after she spent the next two days under three different disguises, she earned another batch of precious stones as well as another 30 million danas.
After all the work since she arrived in this country, the area of her space had now expanded to more than 16 hectares, though the ceiling height was still 20 meters like during her first jade warehouse robbery, totalling to more than three million cubic meters.
Out of this area, she had expanded her time-stasis area to 20 meters by 20 meters, using the same height, totalling 8 thousand cubic meters in volume. It was just that it’d be troublesome to maximize that ceiling height, which was equivalent to six or seven storeys, excluding the depth of the ground.
She thought sixteen hectares was really quite big already. That’s around 500 basketball courts. She could plant a lot of things and get quite a bit of forests, so her pets and meat sources were comfortable.
After this, she decided to go around Varma to get other types of resources from them. She was abroad for the first time, so she naturally had to maximize her stay. She would also get some basic necessities, as well as natural gas from this place.
Since her space could now take in massive amounts of food, she didn’t want to consume too many precious resources from her own country. She decided to take a bit from others to prevent overconsumption. Anyway, she was buying these things, not stealing them.
Varma was not a very developed country, and it only had one international airport (the one she had arrived in), as well as one small, domestic airport at the far eastern side of the country.
The long-range public transportation was limited to buses, and the train system was limited to the central metropolitan areas.
After research and mapping, she limited her trip to two places. One was the western areas where most of their fertile land was, and another was the eastern area accessible by the domestic airport, where the natural gas was harvested.
Naia went to the fertile lands first. From the Southern mines, she had to take a bus to the center, take the train to the westernmost end, and then take a bus again.
Fortunately, the trip from the train station to her destination was not too far, probably less than an hour.
Varma was not a big country, only a fraction in size of her own, so the entire trip only took an accumulated four or five hours of travel, even with this cumbersome method.
Before heading to the farms, she went to ask the siblings if they wanted to disembark now. The Micara embassy was not far from the station. If they wanted to go, they could.
The siblings asked her for more time to think about things, and Naia decided to ask again during the round trip instead.
Naia dressed up as a rich foreign agent or something, complete with sunshade and some gold jewelry. The latter was quite kitschy, but apparently an attire respected by villagers.
She first rented out a large isolated warehouse in an industrial zone before heading to the wholesale markets, buying a few tons of everything they had, including different variants of rice, wheat, potatoes, and so on.
She bought warehouse-style shelves as well. The sad part was that the shelves could only go so high. She couldn’t exactly commission a 5-storey warehouse shelf, right? How was she going to explain its disappearance?
But then she remembered: She could just make them in the space! She had plenty of work areas now! She hadn’t bothered before because her space before mining was just too small.
Now it was different. Not to mention: She had an engineer hanging around!
She headed to the steel trading suppliers to get materials, including hardware stores and so on, for other construction tools.
She took a few acres of random forest, hundreds of square meters of farms, as well as an open space with pressed soil to work on. She put Glen to work in the open space.
This open space was large, at least an acre, and she reckoned this would be where the main accommodation area would be set up.
As for why she still hadn’t shown them her mountain of supplies, which would’ve pretty much increased her chances of recruitment, it was because there was still a chance they’d leave. It was better for them to know as little as possible at this juncture.
She stocked up the new supplies at the side while it waited for their ’building-level’ shelves. She didn’t lack area right now so she could literally just buy whatever without having to do any space planning.
She spent the next two days filling up hundreds of cubic meters in supplies. By the time they went back to the urban area, the siblings had already decided to stay with her.
Her specs for a shelf made them think of a lot of things, including what would be placed there. Not to mention, even if there were no stocks, they had already observed the speed of growth of the plants here.
It was extremely sustainable and more than enough to perpetually and comfortably sustain an entire village.
The next supply stop was the natural gas field.
Natural gas was different from petrol, even if they both came from fossil fuels. The Varma gas field was an onshore one, and it was apparently quite rich. It was just that foreign powers bought them off for low prices, and the locals (except for those in power) didn’t get advantage.
Now, it was cheaper for her.
Buying the resource for 30% more than the unit costs, she managed to buy an ample amount of it. She also used a few identities and even got Glen to buy from different middlemen as well.
Overall, her month in Varma could be said to be very, very productive.
