Zombie Domination-Chapter 48- Tornado
Chapter 48: Chapter 48- Tornado
Julian narrowed his eyes as he caught sight of the enemy group ahead, armed, confident, smug in their numbers. At the center stood Darrion, lightning crackling faintly around his hands, a sadistic grin plastered across his face.
Julian clenched his fists.
"Everyone, take down the underlings. Leave the leader to me."
The others nodded without hesitation. Veronica stepped forward first, her hands glowing a faint violet as she cast [Enchanters], a powerful buff that surged into her teammates like a pulse of raw strength. A shimmering aura enveloped each of them, power, speed, and resilience heightened to their limits.
"Go," Julian commanded.
The team surged forward, and chaos exploded.
Clarissa faced off against three skill users, two wielding blunt weapons enhanced with kinetic energy, the third using wind magic to disrupt movement.
With a calm breath, Clarissa lifted her hands, and from behind her coat, a dozen small blades shimmered into the air, each floating with deadly intent.
[Telekinesis: Multi-Vector Control]
Whoosh!
One blade shot out and knocked aside a charging attacker’s weapon; another formed a spinning shield that intercepted a flying crescent of wind.
"Too slow," she whispered.
With surgical precision, she launched her knives like bullets. One embedded in a leg, another tore through a shoulder, a third shattered a conjured shield. The enemies tried to flank her, but she floated two blades in a defensive ring, rotating fast enough to repel even enhanced strikes.
Emma slammed her fists together, a spark of flame erupting from her skin as [Pyrokinesis: Ignition Core] activated.
"Three on one? Come try!"
The ground beneath her scorched as she launched forward like a human missile, her fist blazing red-hot. One enemy tried to block, but Emma’s punch shattered their guard with explosive force, sending them flying into the wall. The next user launched a barrage of flame arrows, but Emma spun through them, her fiery aura eating through the projectiles.
She grabbed the third by the collar and unleashed a point-blank fireburst to his chest. He screamed and collapsed in agony.
"I’m not even warmed up yet," she growled.
Veronica, wrapped in the glowing symbols of her [Enchanter’s Might], grinned as three enemies closed in.
"Three? Really? You should’ve brought more."
Her gloves sparked, Aya’s modifications had added impact enhancers that flared with every punch. She struck the first attacker, and his barrier shattered like glass. Then she followed up with a sweeping kick to the second’s side, amplified by her strength buff.
She activated [Weaken Pulse], a debuff field that clung to their limbs like sludge. Their movements slowed, their attacks dulled.
"You’re not worthy to touch me," she said, landing another blow that sent one sprawling.
Aya stayed in the backline, focused and calm. Her modified rifle gleamed in the darkness, customized with recoil dampeners and piercing rounds.
[Eagle Eye: Hyper Zoom Mode]
Through her scope, she picked out weak points in enemy armor.
Bang! A shot tore through a shoulder.
Bang! Another disarmed an opponent mid-swing.
She never missed.
Aya quickly fed another magazine into her rifle and activated [Overheat Shot], a bullet glowing bright orange. She aimed at a skill user about to flank Emma and BOOM! The round hit his leg and exploded into flames, knocking him out of combat.
Julian, meanwhile, stood face to face with Darrion.
The air trembled with tension.
Darrion’s hand crackled with electricity. "You’re the one who thinks can play hero?"
Julian didn’t reply. His shadow twitched at his feet, unnaturally alive.
In a flash, they both lunged.
CRACK!
A bolt of lightning struck Julian’s shoulder as he phased into shadow to evade the strike. He gritted his teeth, his shadow skills were weak against lightning. He couldn’t block, only dodge.
Darrion laughed. "What’s wrong? Can’t keep up?"
Julian slid across the ground, his katana drawn. He leapt forward, shadow-flashing behind Darrion, but another surge of lightning caught him mid-dash, sending pain flaring through his body.
Still, Julian endured.
"I just need one opening..."
He dashed in again, this time feinting left. Darrion struck at the illusion. That moment of delay, Julian twisted, rolled under the blow, and slash! His blade grazed Darrion’s forearm.
Sparks flew. Blood followed.
Darrion staggered back, enraged. "You bastard..."
Julian stared him down, eyes cold and calculating.
"This is just the beginning."
Julian darted forward, shadows dancing around his body like coiled serpents. Darrion launched bolt after bolt of lightning, yet Julian weaved between them with inhuman grace, his katana slicing the air with precision.
Clang!
Steel met crackling electricity, the sheer force of their clash sending shockwaves through the crumbling battlefield.
"How...?" Darrion growled inwardly, panting.
How is he keeping up with lightning?
Julian didn’t give him a moment to breathe. With a fluid twist, he slashed across Darrion’s chest, drawing blood once more. The wound sizzled with electricity.
"You bastard...!" Darrion roared, fury taking over. With a snarl, he tore off the remnants of his scorched jacket, revealing a torso lined with scars, evidence of countless battles, pain, and rage.
"Let me show you... what real power looks like!"
He clenched his fists, and the storm responded.
The sky above darkened. Thunder boomed. Arcs of lightning danced wildly around him like chained dragons.
[Ultimate Skill: Storm Devourer]
"I’ll bury you here tonight, and then... I’ll feast on Celestia’s broken pride!"
Meanwhile, on the battlefield.
Darrion’s subordinates regrouped. Reinforcements had arrived, among them a medic-type skill user whose [Mass Rejuvenation] glowed green across the area. In a single sweep, their wounded stood again, recovered, reinvigorated.
"Crap," Emma muttered. "They’re healing too fast."
The pressure mounted. Clarissa, Emma, and Veronica quickly regrouped behind a collapsed pillar.
"Any ideas?" Emma asked, sweat dripping from her brow.
"Yes," Veronica said with her usual fire. "We beat them all down."
Emma sighed. "That’s not a plan."
Clarissa stepped forward, her hands glowing with psychic energy. "Buy me a few minutes. I’ll hit them with everything I’ve got."
Veronica nodded. "We’ve got your back."
They moved into formation, Veronica charging forward with crushing blows, enhanced by enchantments. Emma guarded Clarissa’s flank, fending off attackers with bursts of pyrokinesis.
But the enemies kept coming.
"There’s too many!" Veronica shouted.
Suddenly, silver threads danced through the air like a web spun by the gods themselves.
Crack—! The enemies froze as the threads coiled around their limbs and weapons. freewebnøvel_com
A shockwave followed, an explosion of flame from one side and a gravity-crushing aura of suppression from the other.
Celestia emerged from the smoke, eyes sharp, her uniform torn but her presence regal.
"Apologies for the delay," she said coldly. "We came as fast as we could."
Behind her, her troops charged in, renewed and ready. Hike, leading the support team, barked orders while channeling [Suppression Field], crushing the enemy’s mobility.
The tides turned.
Julian, catching the silver threads out of the corner of his eye, smirked.
"So she made it out alive... good."
He extended his arm and gave a silent order to the mutated zombie, its body strapped with volatile canisters, rigged by Aya herself.
"Run," Julian whispered. "You know what to do."
The zombie shrieked and sprinted toward the heart of Darrion’s fortress.
Darrion noticed too late.
"No—STOP HIM! You maniac!"
Julian only smiled.
"Boom."
KA-BOOOOOOOM—!!!
The explosion ripped through the enemy base. Fire, rubble, and screams erupted into the air. A flaming shockwave rippled outward, flattening tents, vehicles, and supply caches. The morale of Darrion’s forces shattered like glass.
Hike, watching from afar, blinked in awe. "I didn’t know Mr. Julian could be that... brutal."
Amid the devastation, Darrion screamed, his body now surrounded by a roaring vortex of thunder.
"You... YOU BASTARD!!"
CRACK!
He summoned a barrage of lightning bolts, slamming them into the ground around him, incinerating debris and creating a scorched crater of rage.
"I’LL KILL YOU MYSELF!!!"
Julian raised his sword, shadow energy spiraling around him like a rising storm.
"Try it."
Behind the frontline, Clarissa, Veronica, Emma, and Aya moved as a cohesive unit, flanked by the revived forces of Celestia’s squad. The battlefield roared with chaos, flames, and metal.
Cassian, the sharp-eyed soldier with the [Precision] skill, drew both of his twin blades and charged into the fray.
"For our comrades!" he shouted, slicing through the gaps in enemy armor with surgical accuracy. Each strike was deliberate, swift, and devastating.
Beside him, Reinar, a lean fighter with the [Quick] skill, zigzagged through the enemy ranks. His figure blurred as he dashed past three attackers, his daggers dancing.
"Feel this, bastards!" he growled, carving into them before they could even register his presence.
Not far off, Igan’s fists blazed. His body radiated the power of [Ignite], flames bursting from every punch.
"My guess was right," he smirked, sending an enemy flying with a fiery uppercut. "They came. They actually came to save us!"
Celestia, leading from the front, called out with her commanding tone.
"Push forward! Focus your attacks! We take them down together!"
But then, a monstrous roar.
From the enemy side, one of Darrion’s men activated his skill and grotesquely mutated into a beast with a gaping maw that extended to his chest. Rows of jagged teeth lined its insides, dripping saliva.
"I’LL DEVOUR YOU ALL!!"
He lunged toward Celestia’s side like a living battering ram.
But Emma stepped forward, her fists burning with concentrated flame.
"Not today."
With a shout, she slammed both fists into the ground, sending a torrent of fire spiraling upward like a geyser. The creature howled in agony as flames consumed it midair and hurled its body back.
"He’s stalling!" Emma warned. "They’re buying time for a counterattack! Keep them back until Clarissa is ready!"
Celestia’s troops nodded, forming a protective perimeter. The battle erupted with renewed ferocity.
Aya, calm and calculating, positioned herself on an elevated crate. With her rifle gleaming in the dim light, she entered Eagle Eye mode.
"Target acquired." Bang! A bullet shot through the shoulder of an enemy about to ambush Reinar.
Bang! Another round struck an approaching mutant in the knee, causing it to stagger just long enough for Igan to land a flaming blow.
"Aya’s got our backs!" shouted Veronica, charging through with brute force. Her fists, empowered by enchanted gauntlets, broke through magical barriers and reinforced shields alike.
Each punch she threw weakened the enemy through her Debuff Enchantments, causing their defense to drop drastically.
Together, they fought like gears in a perfect machine, Aya supporting from afar, Emma controlling the battlefield with flame, Veronica brawling at the front, and the rest of Celestia’s team filling in the gaps.
And then, it happened.
"I’m ready!" Clarissa called out.
Everyone immediately disengaged and leapt back, giving her the space she needed. Clarissa floated slightly off the ground, her eyes glowing violet, her hands outstretched.
[Ultimate Skill: Cyclone of Blades]
A violent tornado erupted around her, slicing through the battlefield. Embedded within it were hundreds, no, thousands, of small, levitating knives, each spinning at blinding speeds.
The wind howled as it pulled in enemies like a vengeful god.
"Aaaghhh—what is this?!"
"Someone help! No—NOO!!"
"Why is there a tornado here?!"
The screams were swallowed by the storm as the knives tore through Darrion’s underlings. The tornado itself turned crimson, painted with the blood of those foolish enough to stand in its way.
By the time it dissipated, the battlefield had fallen silent... except for one place.
Clarissa lowered her arms, panting slightly.
"It’s done."
All eyes turned to the remaining battle, the final showdown.
Julian and Darrion.
Veronica raised a hand to stop anyone from stepping forward.
"Stay back. Don’t interfere. You’ll just end up being a burden."
