Zombie Bodyguard-Chapter 884 - 881: Where did the little girl come from?
Chapter 884: Chapter 881: Where did the little girl come from?
"Mr. Lin, that ancient tomb is indeed located within Lu Mountain." The pilot answered, then turned to glance at Yun Xiaotian, seemingly seeking approval on whether to fly over for a look.
Yun Xiaotian nodded and said, "Lu Mountain is below our flight path, we can hover and let Brother Lin take a look." Though he didn’t know why Lin Tian was so interested, Yun Xiaotian agreed nevertheless.
Lu Mountain is only about thirty kilometers from Lu County, and within less than ten minutes of flight, the helicopter reached the skies over Lu Mountain.
"Brother Lin, do you need a telescope? We are at an altitude of over two thousand meters, it’s not very clear from here." Yun Xiaotian inquired.
"No need, just lower the helicopter to an altitude of one thousand meters." Lin Tian instructed the pilot.
"Alright, Mr. Lin." The pilot replied, and under his control, the helicopter steadily descended, quickly reaching an altitude of a thousand meters.
The peak of Lu Mountain already has a certain height, combined with the helicopter’s descent by a thousand meters, the helicopter was now just a few hundred meters away from Lu Mountain.
Lin Tian looked out the porthole, and the scenery of Lu Mountain was vividly visible. Lu Mountain is a part of a mountain range, primarily made up of rocks. Judging by the degree of weathering, Lin Tian could tell that the entire mountain is mainly composed of granite.
Only such hard granite could withstand weathering and erosion, surviving five thousand years without collapsing. But now, this solid granite mountain body has split in two, with a crack over a meter wide running from the peak straight down to the base, as if it were cleaved by a Heavenly God.
At the very core of this mountain lies the ancient tomb, which has withstood five thousand years. With extraordinary eyesight, Lin Tian could see that the inside of the tomb was indeed empty, just as the news reports said, with nothing but a bronze coffin.
Only a raised platform in the center indicated where the bronze coffin once lay.
Qingyao, where exactly are you? Lin Tian was somewhat melancholic inside.
"A mountain of this size, if it weren’t for the earthquake, the thousand-year-old tomb might never have seen the light of day again." Yun Xiaotian remarked wistfully.
"Let’s go, this is an archaeological zone, lingering too long might prompt a warning or expulsion." Lin Tian said lightly, though he secretly wondered, was it really just an earthquake?
The pilot said nothing, and lifted the helicopter back into the air. Just as they were leaving Lu Mountain, Lin Tian suddenly noticed a convoy parked at the foot of the mountain with a group of people emerging from the vehicles.
The people getting out turned out to be foreigners, Westerners no less, and among them, a tall Western woman caught Lin Tian’s attention.
"This is...?" Lin Tian frowned, talking to himself. frёewebηovel.cѳm
Unfortunately, the woman was wearing a broad sunhat, masking her appearance, and before Lin Tian could take a closer look, the helicopter quickly flew away.
"What’s wrong, Brother Lin?" Yun Xiaotian asked with curiosity.
"Nothing, I just saw some foreigners over at Lu Mountain, found it a bit odd, that’s all." Lin Tian replied offhandedly, though internally thinking, perhaps I was seeing things. With her status, how could she possibly appear in such a remote place?
Yun Xiaotian chuckled, "Brother Lin, you might be unaware, but this ancient tomb’s discovery has shocked the world, attracting many foreigners here for research. This might be a major discovery in human history, filling gaps in the Huaxia Nation’s history from five thousand years ago."
"I see..." Lin Tian nodded, no longer dwelling on the foreign woman.
"Mr. Lin, Young Master Yun, look, the vast plain in the distance is Zhu Lu’s Field of the ancients." The pilot suddenly said.
Beyond the dragon-like range of mountains lay a vast plain that stretched as far as the eye could see. Over five thousand years ago, an immense battle took place here.
"In the vastness of Zhu Lu in autumn grass grows, Xuanyuan once vanquished Chiyou here, the sunset’s red glow reflects on waters ahead, as if rivers of blood still flow," Yun Xiaotian recited softly, as if moved by this ancient battlefield. Today, the river under the red sunset glow resembles blood flowing from the ancient battle.
"Under the wild grass and thick yellow earth lie countless lives buried. Perhaps if we dig down here, we might uncover the ancient battlefield’s heaps of white bones; this plain was made of countless blood and flesh," Lin Tian added with emotion.
"Brother Lin, do you think we can still find traces of the ancient battlefield here?" Yun Xiaotian asked, a bit naively and a bit embarrassed, knowing it was unlikely after over five thousand years, yet he couldn’t resist asking, fearing Lin Tian would laugh at him.
Traces? Lin Tian smiled inwardly; the female zombie is the greatest evidence, attesting to that ancient, unparalleled battle.
"Maybe." Lin Tian said calmly, then lay down and closed his eyes, leisurely saying, "I’ll take a nap, wake me up when we reach Jinghua City."
"Okay, Brother Lin..." Yun Xiaotian replied, his eyes full of admiration, being able to sleep amidst such noise on the helicopter, what kind of mindset does that take?
Lin Tian actually had a dream, like the female zombie, with a pair of golden wings growing on his back, flying in the sky. In a haze, he was awakened by a voice.
"Brother Lin... Brother Lin..." The voice grew clearer.
Lin Tian opened his eyes, groggy, and saw a clean, delicate face. He couldn’t help but pinch it, laughing, "Where did this little girl come from, truly beautiful."
As soon as he said that, he felt something was off, and then with a start, he fully awoke.
Before him was Yun Xiaotian, who had been waking Lin Tian up, but was unexpectedly pinched by Lin Tian. Yun Xiaotian’s clean face was flushed with embarrassment.
Dammit, I actually pinched his face, Lin Tian was utterly annoyed.
Fortunately, his bodyguard Mr. Wang, as always, was seated with his head lowered and eyes half-closed, seemingly asleep, as if no one noticed. Lin Tian consoled himself with this thought.
But just as he thought that, he glanced over and saw the helicopter door already open, with two rows of black-suited bodyguards standing outside, along with an older man.
They evidently had all seen Lin Tian’s action and heard what he said, consequently all had dumbstruck expressions, incredulously witnessing someone flirting with their young master.
Good grief, flirting with the young master and caught red-handed, my lifetime reputation ruined in an instant, Lin Tian lamented inwardly.
Nonetheless, as things had come to this, Lin Tian was not one to dawdle, he promptly jumped up, smiled nonchalantly, and said, "We’ve arrived so soon? Let’s get off then."
Yun Xiaotian snapped back to his senses and got off the helicopter together with Lin Tian.
Upon stepping off, Lin Tian realized they weren’t within the Yun Family estate, as they were merely at a helicopter landing pad.
"Hello, Mr. Lin, I’m Wei Yongchang, the Yun Family’s steward. Welcome to Jinghua City." The older man nodded to Lin Tian, with a very amiable smile, making people feel as if bathed in the warmth of spring, seemingly having overlooked Lin Tian’s earlier ’flirting’ act.
