Zombie Bodyguard-Chapter 1679 - 1676: Actual Combat (Part 1)
Lin Tian acted as Qiao Xiaoyi’s imaginary opponent, allowing him to practice punching acupoints, a task both tedious and challenging.
If he could train a scholar with no martial arts skills to defeat a black belt in karate, Lin Tian felt it would be quite an accomplishment. More importantly, he wanted Qiao Xiaoyi to show off in front of Mu Binglan, which might just change their lukewarm relationship.
Damn, I’m really going all out, acting as both a coach and a matchmaker, Lin Tian thought to himself. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Just as they were getting into the groove of training, someone walked in from outside the woods, heading straight towards the center of the grove. Lin Tian, who was training, perked up his ears and heard the footsteps.
The footsteps were unrestrained, clearly no martial arts expert, yet they seemed purposeful, which was odd.
While he was feeling puzzled, the person appeared in front of Lin Tian. Upon seeing the person’s face, he frowned; it was the boy who had been scared away, Xiao Yue’s boyfriend, Zhiyong.
Of course, he might not be Mi Yue’s boyfriend anymore because she had said she was going to break up with him.
"So it was you two causing trouble!" The male student looked at Lin Tian and Qiao Xiaoyi, gritting his teeth in anger, almost ready to blow his top.
"What are you talking about? I don’t understand." Lin Tian ignored his anger and responded coolly.
"Don’t play dumb. If you hadn’t pretended to be a ghost, would Xiao Yue have broken up with me?" The male student grew even angrier.
Lin Tian paused slightly, thinking to himself, This Xiao Yue is really decisive, actually breaking up right away. As expected of the one-of-a-kind senior in paleontology.
Slightly curling his lips, Lin Tian said calmly, "If you had even a shred of courage, if you acted like a man, would you have left your girlfriend behind to save yourself? Even if a man is scared, he should at least try to escape with his girlfriend, right? Running away alone, what does that say? You’re just embarrassing men everywhere!"
Each word hit the mark, and the male student’s face turned red, but as he thought of Mi Yue breaking up with him, his anger reignited.
"Don’t give me those useless after-the-fact speeches. Everyone would have run away in that situation. You think you’re so brave? If it were you, you’d probably have peed your pants." The male student defended himself, stubbornly holding on to his pride.
Lin Tian sneered with disdain, "Everyone would run? Then why didn’t your girlfriend run? She’s a woman, yet her courage surpassed yours. Might as well cut it off and become a eunuch."
"Oh, breaking us up and acting so righteous. I seriously suspect you couldn’t win over Xiao Yue, so you pretended to be a ghost to get back at me!" The male student threw out a bizarre conclusion, even blaming Lin Tian in return.
Such a wild imagination, Lin Tian thought, this guy not going into scriptwriting is a waste. But he couldn’t be bothered to argue any further and turned to Qiao Xiaoyi, saying, "Let’s end practice here for today and leave."
As they were about to leave, the male student extended his hand to stop them, sneering, "Ruined my plans and now you want to leave? It’s not that simple."
"So, what do you want?" Lin Tian replied coolly.
The male student looked at Lin Tian’s height, then at Qiao Xiaoyi, swallowing back the harsh words he was about to say, only saying, "If you’ve got guts, don’t leave, stay right here."
"Sure, I’ll wait. Hurry and get your backup." Lin Tian replied, bored.
The male student, still eyeing Lin Tian, pulled out his phone and dialed a number.
"Xiao Liz, bring some brothers over; I’m going to fight!"
"Where? The ginkgo grove by the lake. Quickly, be here in five minutes!"
The male student, bursting with anger, shouted a few statements before hanging up and looking at Lin Tian, "Scared now, aren’t you? Too late to regret now; you’ll pay for ruining my plans."
Lin Tian didn’t look at him but instead turned to Qiao Xiaoyi with a grin, "Xiaoyi, what do you think we should do?"
Seeing Lin Tian’s mischievous grin, Qiao Xiaoyi couldn’t help but recall his earlier explanation of acupoints, the Fainting Point, Numbing and Pain Points, making the honest student shudder.
Qiao Xiaoyi, being very honest, kind-heartedly said to the male student, "Well, I suggest you leave while you can."
"What did you say? You want me to leave? Fine, after I’ve vented my anger, I’ll leave. Don’t worry; it’s just a beating, it won’t kill you." The male student laughed as if he’d heard the funniest joke in the world.
"Sigh..." Qiao Xiaoyi sighed sympathetically. He had been honest and kind in his advice, but sometimes people are just bewildered.
Within five minutes, Lin Tian heard the sound of footsteps outside. He said to Qiao Xiaoyi, "I was just thinking I need real combat practice, and now here’s the chance. You handle the one in front of you; I’ll take care of the rest. Remember to use the move we just practiced. If you can’t even handle this, don’t even think about the upcoming test."
With no time to think further, a group appeared, running to the male student’s side. Lin Tian glanced around, counting seven people, including Zhiyong, making eight in total.
"Brother Yong, these are the two causing you trouble?" One boy, wearing a sleeveless vest that revealed muscular arms, pointed at Lin Tian and Qiao Xiaoyi, smiling maliciously.
"That’s right, especially the one in the black tracksuit—give him special attention." Brother Yong spat out, grinding his teeth at the word special, evidently furious at Lin Tian, who was indeed in the black tracksuit.
"Brother Yong, this guy looks familiar," one boy whispered, though the dark woods obscured their full features.
"Who cares if he’s familiar? Even if he is, for ruining my plan, he gets beaten all the same. You handle him, and I’ll take care of the other one." Brother Yong pointed at Lin Tian and then at Qiao Xiaoyi, instructing his companions to gang up on Lin Tian.
The seven snapped their knuckles and approached Lin Tian with sinister smiles, while Brother Yong headed for Qiao Xiaoyi.
To avoid interfering with Qiao Xiaoyi, Lin Tian intentionally moved aside, but this move made the seven think he was trying to escape, charging at him immediately.
A brawl ensued as seven rushed in, fists flying at Lin Tian. He simply raised an eyebrow and slightly shifted, cleverly dodging all attacks.
He moved as if wandering through the streets, taking leisurely steps, sometimes left, sometimes right, occasionally blocking an attack. To the seven, he appeared merely defensive, prompting their relentless pursuit.
What they didn’t realize was that Lin Tian’s focus wasn’t on them at all but on the battle between Qiao Xiaoyi and Brother Yong.
