Zombie Bodyguard-Chapter 1660 - 1657: Club Recruitment
"Who is it?" Lin Tian and the others asked curiously.
"He’s the tenth-ranked guy on the campus heartthrob list, the one who’s chasing after the first school beauty," He Xiaofei explained, then laughed herself, clearly finding his antics more famous than he himself was.
Lin Tian shook his head slightly, also amused, "Looking at his personality, he seems like the kind of person who acts first and talks later. Pretty wild."
"Sounds like you kinda admire that, huh? Have you ever done anything as crazy as him?" He Xiaofei asked teasingly, her eyes full of interest as she looked at Lin Tian.
Lin Tian spread his hands and then smiled, not answering, but thinking to himself, I’ve done things crazier than his, if I told you, your poor little hearts might not be able to handle it.
After the handsome sophomore glared back at everyone, he walked into the classroom nonchalantly, heading straight for Lin Tian. A bunch of eyes followed him, and when they saw him walk up to Lin Tian, many immediately had expressions like they were about to watch a drama unfold.
The tenth on the campus heartthrob list, self-proclaimed the most handsome sophomore, meeting the most popular freshman, a top-ten campus heartthrob candidate—it was like an ace against an ace. They seemed to see a good show about to start.
"Bro, this is my favorite spot in class," the handsome sophomore scanned Lin Tian and his friends, finally locking eyes with Lin Tian.
Lin Tian noticed that when this handsome sophomore’s gaze swept over Xiao Manxuan, it did not linger deliberately at all. This was the first time Lin Tian found someone indifferent to Xiao Manxuan’s beauty, and just because of that, Lin Tian had a slight liking for him.
It’s just that this guy’s tone was too arrogant, which made Lin Tian very irritated, so he just replied with a few bland words: "And then?"
"Bro, with a face like this, and you only respond with a few words? Are you a little slow on the uptake?" The handsome sophomore pointed to his own face, with an expression that screamed, "Don’t you have any perception?"
Lin Tian understood what he meant, he was just asking for his seat, but Lin Tian pretended not to know, "I don’t understand what you’re saying."
"Oh my god, your comprehension makes me anxious, bro, can you give up a seat for your senior? Did you get it this time?" The handsome sophomore’s eyes widened, looking like he was going to be defeated by Lin Tian’s slowness.
"Hmm, got it this time, but I’m someone who gives up a seat on the bus, not here," Lin Tian replied calmly, as if stating the obvious.
"Hey, you..." The handsome sophomore was just about to point at Lin Tian when his eyes suddenly fixed on Lin Tian’s face, full of confusion, "You... look familiar? Have I seen you somewhere before?"
He had a thoughtful look, then his eyes widened suddenly, his voice going up eight octaves, "Damn, I remember now, you’re that freshman who caused a stir—what’s your name again, Lin Tian, right?"
"Yes, I am that guy. Do you have any advice for me?" This man was so melodramatic that Lin Tian was really at a loss. He was annoying, yet so absurdly comical that you couldn’t help but feel amused.
Lin Tian thought he might say, damn, you actually look more handsome than me, is there any justice? Considering his dramatic style of speaking, it was likely something he’d say.
Okay, Lin Tian admitted it might be a little narcissistic of him to think that way. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Indeed, Lin Tian was correct, as the guy blurted out, "You actually look more handsome than I..."
However, halfway through his sentence, he stopped, showing a smile on his face instead, and his gaze kept scanning Lin Tian up and down. Being scrutinized like that by a man made Lin Tian uncomfortable, and just as he was about to tell him to leave, the guy extended his hand.
He looked like he was about to shake hands, and the shift in atmosphere was so quick that Lin Tian had no idea what he was doing. Xiao Manxuan and He Xiaofei were also puzzled. However, Lin Tian did not extend his hand, he just looked at him.
The handsome sophomore didn’t mind, casually withdrawing his hand, and said cheerfully, "Let me formally introduce myself. My name is Ning Wenbin, from the School of Architecture and Engineering. I’m a sophomore majoring in architectural design, a future architectural designer. My dream is to design a landmark building in every major city around the world, with ’Ning Wenbin’ engraved on it."
Ha, future architect, lofty goals, quite ambitious and confident, Lin Tian thought with amusement, then said with a chuckle, "Isn’t your dream to win over the first school beauty?"
"You even know that?" Ning Wenbin was ecstatic, as if he’d found a kindred spirit, and stood talking to Lin Tian in the aisle, "Bro, I don’t usually tell people this, chasing the school beauty is just my second dream, architectural design is my first."
He said this "I don’t usually tell people" loudly enough that not only Lin Tian heard it but practically everyone in the class did as well. Lin Tian chuckled and shook his head, this guy truly was unreliable.
"You said your last name is Ning?" Lin Tian raised an eyebrow and asked casually.
"Of course, do you know me from before? It shouldn’t be. I spent the whole summer traveling abroad—oh no, I mean, observing famous architecture worldwide, so you couldn’t have known me," Ning Wenbin said curiously.
"Don’t know you. Our conversation is over. This is a calculus class for freshmen, you can leave now." Lin Tian pointed toward the door, unwilling to continue the chat.
This guy stood there, still upright while everyone in the class watched like it was a show. Lin Tian had no interest in being the center of attention.
Unexpectedly, this guy just moved to the next row and sat behind Lin Tian, then casually said, "Who said I’m leaving? I’m here for the calculus class."
"Ning, you do know, right? Calculus classes for freshmen and sophomores aren’t the same," He Xiaofei reminded him with amusement.
"I failed my class, I’m here to retake it, is that not okay? As long as I earn enough credits," Ning Wenbin said confidently, as if failing was something to be proud of.
"Hahaha..."
The other classmates couldn’t help but burst into laughter, realizing he was a senior who had failed, yet acted so assured about it was quite a special talent.
"What are you laughing at? If it weren’t for missing the exam due to some business back then, you think I would’ve failed? You all are just too young, not worth my time," Ning Wenbin said in an old-man tone, pointing at the others one by one.
The way he talks so arrogantly yet manages to live just fine, Lin Tian admired that. In a TV drama, such a character wouldn’t survive past the second episode.
After sitting down, Ning Wenbin pulled out his books and notebook, muttering while setting things up, like, "Hmph, you may top the heartthrob list, but with someone more handsome and more capable than you taking your place, let’s see if you still have the nerve to compete with me for the goddess."
"Cough, Lin Tian bro, there’s a club recruitment event this weekend. Interested in checking it out?" Ning Wenbin asked very seriously.
"Not interested," Lin Tian straightforwardly declined.
He Xiaofei’s beautiful eyes moved slightly, she glanced at Lin Tian and softly said, "Lin Tian, you might want to go and take a look."
