Chapter 1590: Chapter 1587: Too Many Wolves, Too Little Meat

After bustling about for an hour, Xiao Manxuan finally finished the meal, and it was already past noon.

"Lin Tian, how is it?" Xiao Manxuan asked nervously, watching Lin Tian drink the soup.

"Uh, how should I put it, there’s still room for improvement." Lin Tian said very tactfully.

The little girl snorted: "Hmph, if it’s not good, just say it. I’ve decided, from now on, I’ll do all the cooking. I refuse to believe I can’t get it right."

Honestly, the little girl’s cooking skills were quite a bit below Mrs. Xiao and the Miss, even Lin Tian was better than her. However, it was edible, and for a wealthy young lady to achieve this level was already quite impressive.

After the meal, just as they put down their chopsticks, their phones chimed with incoming messages almost simultaneously.

"Class meeting..." they both said in unison.

"Class meeting at seven-thirty tonight." Lin Tian said. This was expected, with a new class formed, there was always a meeting to get acquainted and select class leaders.

"Our class is also at seven-thirty." Xiao Manxuan laughed.

"You can manage on your own, right?" Lin Tian blinked, asking if she could handle it by herself.

Xiao Manxuan smiled confidently and replied, "Don’t worry, I’m just not as good at fighting as you are, otherwise I’m not lacking in any other area."

"That’s true, Second Miss is both talented and beautiful, it seems I’ve worried unnecessarily." Lin Tian shrugged.

"By the way, in school, you can’t call me Second Miss anymore." Xiao Manxuan reminded him.

"Alright, Little Manman, Little Xuanxuan..." Lin Tian teased deliberately.

After the meal, under Xiao Manxuan’s rallying, Lin Tian and she started a major cleanup. After all, this would be home base for the next four years, and comfortable living is paramount.

By seven in the evening, it was getting dark, and at Xiao Manxuan’s urging, Lin Tian headed out with her.

"My meeting’s at the college. How about you?" she pointed off into the distance when they reached a crossroads.

"Building 1." Lin Tian pointed in another direction. That afternoon, after the big clean, Lin Tian and Xiao Manxuan had thoroughly studied Jinghua University, including its map.

They exchanged smiles and parted ways. Based on his memory of the campus map, Lin Tian walked to a building, where a large "1" was written on the exterior wall.

Lin Tian walked into room 101 and upon entering, noticed the class was predominantly female, not a single male. He was taken aback and stepped back out.

Darn, did I go to the wrong room? Lin Tian checked his phone for the meeting location, but it did say "Building 1, Room 101," so it should be correct.

Just then, another guy, head down and rushing, ran into the classroom, but like Lin Tian, quickly retreated.

"It’s you?" The guy, surprised, spotted Lin Tian.

Lin Tian noticed him too; it was that short-haired guy. This was their third encounter, which felt like quite a lot of fate, but with another guy, that’s not necessarily a good thing.

"Hey man, it seems like fate brought us together again. I’m from the first class of Life Sciences, which class are you in?" Lin Tian smiled and asked.

The guy was surprised: "Me too. Didn’t expect we’d be classmates. Anyway, the class advisor said there’s a meeting, but it’s all girls here. Could we be in the wrong place?"

The Life Sciences major is a science program, and typically, science classes have more guys than girls. Only programs like Foreign Languages, Secretarial Studies, or Nursing have more females. Hence, Lin Tian and the short-haired guy’s earlier confusion.

While they were still puzzled, a middle-aged woman came over. Lin Tian recognized her as the teacher who helped him with registration.

The teacher, seeing them both blocking the entrance, asked curiously, "You’re Lin Tian, right? I recognize you. Why aren’t you going in?"

"But it’s all girls here. Are you sure this is the Life Sciences first class?" the short-haired guy asked softly.

The teacher chuckled and said, "You’ll understand later. In the Life Sciences, it’s a case of the wolves being many and the prey few. Go on in."

Wolves and prey? Lin Tian and the short-haired guy exchanged glances and walked into the classroom, where all the girls’ eyes immediately focused on them.

"Finally, two boys arrived."

"Phew, I thought our Life Sciences first class was going to turn into a convent. Thankfully, there are males."

"I heard Life Sciences graduates tend to work in labs or research institutes, which is more suitable for girls, that’s why I enrolled."

"Wow, that guy’s really handsome."

...

Under the whispers of the female students, Lin Tian and the short-haired guy took their seats in the classroom. Once everyone had arrived, Lin Tian glanced around and found that amongst the 36 students in the class, only eight were male.

"Let’s start with introductions. I’m your class advisor, Jiang Yingqiu. Welcome to the big family of Life Sciences."

"There are many reasons why you chose Life Sciences. Maybe it’s because you heard the new century belongs to biology, it’s cutting-edge technology, or because post-graduation, it’s not as exhausting as engineering or as hard to find work as humanities."

"All of these are somewhat true, but not entirely. What I want to say is, by studying Life Sciences, you’ll live a more thorough life, thoroughly understanding every cell in your body, living with vast knowledge, from great rivers and seas, flowers, insects, birds, and beasts, to human physiology, from the micro to the macro, you’ll know it all..."

This class advisor opened with a speech that was simple yet clear, giving a rundown of the Life Sciences major, and her rhetorical prowess nearly rivaled that of a speech coach, leaving the freshmen awestruck.

Even Lin Tian had to admire; no wonder she’s a university teacher. Even teachers in science classes are this eloquent.

"Alright, now that you have a general understanding of the Life Sciences department, it’s time for me to get to know you. Let’s have some introductions. Who would like to go first?" Jiang Yingqiu ended her speech, looking at the students.

Many students, perhaps a bit shy in the new environment, didn’t respond.

However, as a teacher, she foresaw this and suddenly pointed at Lin Tian, "Let’s start with you, our class’s handsome guy. Yes, you, come up to the podium and introduce yourself." Her words prompted a good-natured laugh from the girls.

Lin Tian felt a bit helpless, thinking it was a crime to be good-looking. However, he wasn’t one to be overly hesitant and got up straightforwardly, heading for the podium.

As soon as he stepped onto the podium, there was an audible gasp from the girls below. The podium was already elevated, and with Lin Tian’s height, he appeared even more striking when viewed from below.

With sharp eyebrows and bright eyes, noble demeanor, a mysterious and deep gaze, and healthy skin tone, he made quite an impression on the girls.

Lin Tian didn’t make a grand, passionate speech; he gave a simple introduction and returned to his seat. After all, he wasn’t interested in becoming a class officer, so there was no need to showcase anything special on the podium.

"Next, yes, the handsome guy next to Lin Tian, I mean you," Jiang Yingqiu pointed at the short-haired guy.
