Zombie Bodyguard-Chapter 1585 - 1582: Truly a Fateful Encounter
"You have a point there; the entertainment industry is deeper than the Pacific Ocean," Lin Tian said while looking at the photos. It’s not just about connections, networks, or hidden rules—there are fierce battles among big capital sharks, and sometimes, stars are just pawns.
"Hey, this actress looks familiar? Seems like I’ve seen her somewhere before." Lin Tian pulled out a photo and scrutinized it for a long time, feeling quite odd. He doesn’t remember knowing any actresses, especially since he hasn’t been paying attention to the entertainment industry lately.
Zhou Botong glanced at the photo and laughed sleazily: "Brother Lin, you have a good eye—she’s the prettiest among the five candidate actresses, hehe..."
Actresses are inherently good-looking, plus a touch of photoshop, which makes them naturally sexy and beautiful. Xiao Manxuan leaned over for a look and found the actress in the photo indeed had fair skin, an attractive figure, alluring eyes, truly captivating to men.
Seeing Lin Tian and Zhou Botong staring intently at the actress in the photo, the little girl snorted softly: "Two scumbags, perverts!"
Lin Tian did not notice the little girl’s reaction and suddenly exclaimed: "I remember now. Her name’s Bitong, isn’t it?"
Seeing Lin Tian’s reaction, the other three looked at him oddly. Zhou Botong was somewhat disdainful: such a popular actress, and Brother Lin Tian took forever to recall her—how uninformed.
The Xiao sisters were wondering, Lin Tian hardly pays attention to the entertainment circle, hardly has time for TV or movies, yet he seems to recognize Bitong; does he have ties with the actress?
"Brother Lin Tian, I have to express my disdain—Bitong is a top-tier celebrity, great image, rarely in negative news, and you don’t recognize her?" Zhou Botong looked at Lin Tian as if he were an alien.
"I know her, very well." Lin Tian replied with a subtle smile.
"Perfect, then my first choice is Bitong. For our flagship store, we want someone with minimal negative news," Zhou Botong proposed.
But Xiao Manxue turned her gaze to Lin Tian because she sensed something off in his tone.
"Aside from Bitong, pick anyone among the other four." Lin Tian opposed.
"Why?" Zhou Botong asked curiously, and the Xiao sisters were also intrigued by what transpired between Lin Tian and Bitong.
Lin Tian explained the previous conflict he had with Bitong on a plane, leaving Zhou Botong gawking.
"No way, she looks decent. Didn’t expect her to be such a bad character." Zhou Botong shook his head, seemingly having a good impression of the actress.
Lin Tian patted his shoulder to soothe his wounded spirit: "For a celebrity with a good image, there are only two possibilities—either they’re genuinely good, or their company packaged them well."
"Okay, so how do we choose from the remaining four?" Zhou Botong felt unsure now.
"Whatever..." Lin Tian was about to say any choice would do, but paused midway, while Zhou Botong hesitantly looked to Miss, finding she and Lin Tian had diverted their attention away from choosing someone, instead looking ahead.
Zhou Botong turned out of curiosity, seeing a red sports car sideways in the road at the corner, with tire marks indicating a clear sudden brake, and a person lying in front of the car’s right front side.
"It’s that sports car," Xiao Manxuan frowned, and Lin Tian recognized the sports car’s tail—it was the red one that sped by earlier. Such speed indeed led to trouble.
Lying on the ground was a young man, face to the side, unclear if injured, while passing students had stopped to watch the "accident."
The young man moved slightly, then stood up, brushing off the dust on himself, seemingly uninjured.
Upon seeing the young man’s face, Lin Tian and the Xiao sisters exchanged a bemused look: "It’s him."
"Who is he? Who are you talking about?" Zhou Botong asked perplexed.
"We met a young man on the express train, and it’s him; didn’t expect him to be a student at Jinghua University," Lin Tian expressed surprise, wondering if it was fate or mere coincidence.
After dusting off, the young man picked up his backpack from the ground as the passenger door of the sports car opened, revealing a stylish young man wearing a black t-shirt, jeans, and high-top boots, accessorized with sunglasses, looking very trendy.
"Hey, are you alright?" The stylish guy shouted arrogantly, showing no remorse.
"I’m fine." The short-haired young man actually smiled kindly, not angry, nor intent on pursuing the matter.
"Hmph, good then. These days, there’s too much fraudulent extortion for money; lucky you’re sensible." The stylish guy sneered, with an unmistakable disdain in his tone, perceivable even behind sunglasses.
"Watch your words; it’s clearly your fast driving. He pushed a girl aside and was hit by your car, and you dare to slander him?"
"What a poor character, and such a person can study at Jinghua University."
The onlookers were outraged, starting to scold the stylish man for such arrogance after hitting someone, stirring public anger.
The stylish man removed his sunglasses and pointed them at the crowd: "Mind your business, bookworms. What do you know? I’m not a student of Jinghua University, nor do I envy it. You think graduating from a prestigious school makes you great? Remember, you’ll work for us after graduation."
These words infuriated the students while piercing at their sore spots, bringing a mix of anger and grievances. The girl saved by the short-haired guy was probably scared stiff by the scene and did not step forward.
"Don’t be mad; I’m alright, why let this ruin harmony?" The short-haired guy whose crash was meant for peace-making.
The car driver’s window rolled down, coldly telling the stylish guy: "Get moving, planning on turning us into a public spectacle?"
The stylish guy turned to leave but glanced scornfully back at the crowd before getting in.
The sports car drove away, and nobody dared to stop it, even though the students were upset, helpless when many were mere freshmen.
Soon, people dispersed, a girl walked over to the short-haired guy and slightly bowed, whispering: "S-sorry, I..." It was the girl he saved.
The short-haired guy glanced at her luggage and smiled warmly: "It’s fine; you’re new here and understandably uneasy. It’s not your fault; just be careful next time."
"Thank you." The girl nodded gratefully, shyly glanced at him, then wheeled away her luggage.
"What a coincidence, we meet again." Lin Tian approached, calling the short-haired guy who was just about to leave.
