"Sister Yuanling, what is your relationship with the Commander? Are you a couple?" Cheng Rui asked while looking at Xun Che and Shang Yuanling’s hands curiously.

The moment she heard this, Shang Yuanling finally realized that she was holding hands with her boss. She quickly pulled her hand away and shook her head.

"No, please don’t misunderstand. The Commander and I only have a superior and subordinate relationship."

Seeing how anxious she was, Xun Che glanced at Cheng Rui and said, "Yuanling, why don’t you introduce me to your friends?"

Hearing how intimately he called her, Shang Yuanling suddenly felt a chill run down her spine.

Before she could answer, Xun Che smiled and said, "Yuanling is my personal assistant. The kind that prepares my meals, irons my clothes, and lives in my house."

As soon as he said this, everyone stared at him in shock, including Shang Yuanling. After a long silence, she finally found her voice and asked, "Commander, that villa... is that your house?"

Xun Che smiled at her and asked back, "Did I forget to tell you?" He thought for a moment, leaned closer to her, and whispered in a low voice, "Now that you know, I don’t have to stay in the office anymore. I will go back tonight."

Feeling his warm breath brushing her cheek and his low voice near her ear, Shang Yuanling was startled and took a step back.

Satisfied with her reaction, Xun Che turned to the group and said, "I heard from Yuanling that you promised to take on a mission today."

Cheng Rui and Cheng Yue nodded.

"I came to explain to you on her behalf. In the next three months, she won’t be able to participate in missions due to her duties. So, both of you should find other people to join your team."

Although he looked apologetic, the Cheng brothers could see that he was insincere with his apology. They glanced at Shang Yuanling and thought that their friend had no hope of escaping this man’s grasp.

"Well, that can’t be helped then," Cheng Rui sighed. After a pause, he turned to his brother and continued, "Ah Yue, looks like we won’t be able to join the new S-rank mission."

When he heard this, Xun Che understood the underlying meaning of his words and smiled. "If you are worried about that, you can rest assured. I can guarantee that you and your brother will be able to apply for the mission."

As soon as he said this, Cheng Rui smiled brightly and said, "Thank you, Commander!"

Hearing her polite tone and her attempt to distance herself from him, Xun Che let out a sigh and wondered if he had made it too obvious today and scared her away.

If not for her intention to join the S-rank mission, he wouldn’t do it so rashly like this.
