Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower-Chapter 44: Oliver’s Intentions
Chapter 44: Chapter 44: Oliver’s Intentions
"What?" Ivy’s words stunned all the researchers.
Martin’s gaze turned sharp, and his eyes stared at Avery as if he could detect the superpower with his eyes.
Even though they knew Ivy had awakened enhanced intelligence and very much wanted to experiment on her, she was off limits.
Freya and Silas will never agree, even Ivy’s reaction before proved his worry. Hence, none of the researchers proposed to experiment on Ivy.
But now...
’If Avery, too, has awakened enhanced intelligence, things will become pretty easy for us.’
Avery blanked out, before asking in an excited voice,
"Are you telling the truth, Ivy?"
Ivy nodded. Though she hated the look Avery had passed before, Ivy was well versed with that look.
Many of the researchers, while experimenting on her in her previous life, had the same sharp look in their eyes.
Just now, unconsciously, Avery had let those powers get to her head, revealing her keen observation.
Avery’s heart pounded with excitement,
’I was envious just a few seconds ago... turns out... I, too, possess enhanced intelligence. Now I can experiment on myself!’
Seeing the frantic expression on Avery’s face, Ivy felt speechless.
’This group of researchers is truly crazy.’
Felix’s hand twitched, and he voiced the question haunting him,
"But how do you know?"
Ivy remained calm and composed. By pushing Avery into the limelight, she was able to leave unscathed, not to mention, though rare, enhanced intelligence people were hardly ever experimented on.
She answered Felix,
"Just an intuition."
Her one sentence stopped the barrage of questions that was about to thrown in her direction.
Oliver, tightly strapped to the bed, electrified, asked,
"Miss Ivy! Please come here! Look at me! Look at me and tell me if I have awakened any superpower!"
’If I awaken any rare type of superpower, I will have the chance to pursue Ivy!’
He liked Ivy from the moment she entered.
Though a bit crazy, she was intelligent... and gorgeous. Like a goddess from the air.
Her pink hair contrasted with the black dress she was wearing, yet they looked aesthetic and pleasing to the eyes.
’Ah... I just want to interlace my hands in her hair and...’
His fantasy was broken midway when Silas stood in front of Ivy and glared at Oliver.
Oliver only flashed his beautiful set of white teeth.
One by one, researchers flocked to Ivy in the hopes of awakening the so-called dormant superpower.
"Miss Ivy, please look at me, tell me if I have awakened any superpower."
"Miss Ivy, can you see my future with my future girlfriend?"
"Miss Ivy, do you have any intuition while you look at me?"
The repeated ’Miss Ivy’ almost made Ivy’s ear ache.
Silas raised his hand and silenced the crowd.
"My w... friend is tired, please refrain from asking any further questions."
Others: <("0 ")>No... did you just call your wife?
They wanted to ask more questions; however, Silas’s powerful aura forced them to become as quiet as quail.
"Mom, we will leave now," Silas announced. Even a calm demeanor seemed to crack.
’Leave... we should leave. There are many wolves here. My wife will be snatched away from me.’
Freya, for the first agreed. She nodded.
"Alright then. You should leave..."
"Hey! I just have a last question, please answer it before going." Ruby, who was in her early thirties, looked a bit older for her age, and since she was Freya’s best friend, Ivy nodded.
"What about those who had transformed into zombies? Is their body so weak that they don’t resist at all and transform into zombies?"
Ivy pursed her lips at the question. Before she shook her head reluctantly,
"I don’t know."
Ruby felt disappointed, yet she couldn’t do anything about it.
"Alright. Take care."
Silas and Ivy nodded, and just as they were about to leave, Martin said,
"Ivy, with your words, we might be able to make progress by leaps and bounds. Once our experiment is over, we will reward you for your help."
Ivy waved her hand. "No need."
In her past life, no one asked her for her opinions, and she never had the chance to share her theories
Once outside, Silas led Ivy to the adjacent room, where piping hot noodles were prepared for them.
The aroma of the dishes lifted Ivy’s mood. After eating, Silas cleared the bowls. Ivy tried to intervene, but Silas avoided her hand.
Ivy watched helplessly as Silas cleared the table and returned beside her.
"Ivy... if I ask something, will you answer me honestly?" Silas asked.
A hesitant expression on Ivy’s face before she schooled her face into a neutral expression and replied,
"As long as it is something I am comfortable sharing."
Silas suppressed the rising unease in his heart before he softened his tone,
"Do you know why you were crying blood tears?"
Ivy shook her head. She had nightmares before, but she never cried blood tears.
"Have you truly awakened an enhanced intelligence superpower?" Silas continued.
Ivy shook her head again.
"What about the question Ruby had asked... is every human that turns zombie... are weak-willed?"
"No," For the first time in a long while, Ivy answered, her expression turned ugly and her voice lowered, "In fact... 90% of them are the humans who failed to awaken a superpower... In the future, these zombies will gain a zombie crystal. This zombie crystal was the power they were supposed to awaken, but failed to."
Silas processed the information
He never thought that the answer, even his system couldn’t give... was given by Ivy.
Taking a deep breath, he asked,
"Last question... when do you want to kill Ronan and his two minions?"
"Tomorrow." There were no emotions in Ivy’s eyes. Just the calm before the storm.
"Okay. I will arrange it. Now... what are your plans..." Silas couldn’t finish his words as he saw Ivy’s eyes turning hollow. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
Then the familiar seductive expression appeared, and Silas felt bad for the little Silas who was straining in his pants.
’Oh no... I am doomed.’
