Chapter 425: Chapter 425: Please Save Her

With no other choice, Vincent Vance had to find a way to contact May Morgan, hoping she could save Maxwell Vance before Oscar Owens handed him over to Victor Grant.

After hearing that May Morgan was staying at the same hospital as Heather Holt, Vincent Vance quickly drove over.

May Morgan’s blood test results came out quickly, and the doctor, looking perplexed, handed her test report to Victor Grant.

"Young Master Grant, the young lady’s blood looks quite strange!" The doctor was cautious with his words, aware of May Morgan’s importance to Victor Grant, so he handed the test report over for him to see for himself.

Victor Grant quickly took the test report and glanced at it, only to see that it showed May Morgan’s white blood cell count was even higher than that of a leukemia patient. Moreover, her blood was far from pure; aside from the high white blood cell count, there seemed to be something odd in it, though what exactly it was could not be identified through medical tests.

Since it couldn’t be identified, there was no need to test further, Victor Grant understood in his heart. Not everything in this world can be explained by science; if it could, then what he had seen before was just an illusion.

He also wished that everything before him was an illusion, but unfortunately, May Morgan lay clearly in front of him, still unconscious.

"For now, don’t let her blood issue be known outside. We’ll think of something else once she wakes up."

With no other solution, Victor Grant instructed the doctor to keep the matter quiet for now.

This hospital was owned by the Grant Family; who would dare to speak out of turn? The doctor nodded cautiously in agreement: "Of course, Young Master Grant, we will definitely keep the young lady’s situation confidential. But with her white blood cell count so high, if we let it develop further, won’t it pose significant harm to her? Shouldn’t we give her some medication first to see?"

"No need. Medication will not help. I know what to do!" Victor Grant sighed irritably, motioning everyone out of the room.

When only he and May Morgan were left in the room, Victor Grant, feeling somewhat pained, found a chair to sit by May Morgan’s side, taking her cold little hand and kissing it softly.

"May, I swear to you, once my father’s condition stabilizes, I will take you to Crestwood to find someone to break the curse on you, certainly."

May Morgan seemed to sense his words and gently opened her eyes, seeing Victor Grant holding her fingers in a daze. She softly called out to him: "Victor, are you all right?"

Victor Grant quickly snapped out of his thoughts, giving May Morgan a glance: "I’m fine, very fine. How about you, how do you feel?"

May Morgan didn’t feel discomfort, just felt weak all over, even speaking was tiring. She herself realized that her body was getting weaker and weaker; before she could barely stand, now she didn’t even have the strength to sit.

"I don’t know, I just feel weak, like I want to sleep," May Morgan honestly replied.

Victor Grant smiled, reaching out to stroke May Morgan’s small face, comforting her: "Then have a good sleep, don’t think about anything."

May Morgan couldn’t possibly sleep peacefully, after all, Adam Owens was still in Victor Grant’s hands, life or death unknown.

"Can you let Adam Owens go? Or hand him over to the police; let them handle it?" May Morgan hurriedly and anxiously asked Victor Grant.

Victor Grant’s face darkened, about to refuse, when suddenly Oscar Owens’s call came through.

He glanced down at his phone, knowing that Oscar Owens must be on the way bringing Maxwell Vance, couldn’t help but smile, looking up at May Morgan: "Sure, I’ll go release Adam Owens now, don’t worry."

May Morgan found his words strange, frowning as she asked: "You, are you really willing to let Adam Owens go?"

Victor Grant tenderly stroked May Morgan’s small face, his smile complex: "Of course. Even though he’s the one who wielded the knife, he wasn’t the one who orchestrated it all. He was framed. Every wrong has its source, every debt its owner. I must seek revenge on the true culprit."

"That’s great, then hurry. Adam Owens lost so much blood, I’m afraid he might be in danger of bleeding to death," May Morgan, not understanding the implication in Victor Grant’s words, was solely concerned about Adam Owens’s life and hurried Victor Grant on.

Victor Grant didn’t delay either, and before leaving, he reminded May Morgan: "May, rest well in the hospital. I’ll bring you good news once I’ve avenged our grievances."

May Morgan gazed fixatedly at Victor Grant’s departing figure, her mind in a jumble of emotions, but she thought, since Victor Grant said he would release Adam Owens, Adam should be fine, right?

Shortly after Victor Grant left, Vincent Vance drove to the hospital, inquiring about May Morgan’s room. Fearing that Maxwell Vance might be tortured to death by Victor Grant, he rushed in quickly.

The maid, Mae, was helping May Morgan sit up, planning to feed her something, was startled when Vincent Vance suddenly pushed the door open.

"Who, who are you? How can you just barge into the room?" Victor Grant had already instructed not to let anyone into May Morgan’s room casually before leaving, so Mae sternly questioned Vincent Vance.

Vincent Vance saw May Morgan lying on the bed, her face increasingly pale and frail. He felt a pang in his heart and quickly asked her: "May, how are you feeling now?"

May Morgan thought Vincent Vance was there to check on her, feeling a warmth in her heart, she quickly said: "I’m fine, just feel weak all over. Don’t worry about me, go check on Adam Owens first. Victor Grant just promised me he would let Adam go. Go see if he did as I asked."

Upon hearing this, Vincent Vance sighed helplessly and spoke the truth to May Morgan: "I don’t need to check; Victor Grant indeed went to release Adam Owens."

"Really?" May’s eyes lit up at once, but she then noticed Vincent Vance’s worried expression and, knowing he was troubled, quickly said to Mae beside her: "I still want some fruit, could you buy some for me this afternoon?"

"Oh, okay." Mae looked at May and Vincent with complex emotions in her eyes, then reluctantly pushed the door open to buy fruit.

Once only the two of them were left in the room, May Morgan cautiously asked Vincent Vance: "Tell me, is there something more important going on?"

Vincent Vance gave May Morgan a troubled glance and paused before replying: "Yes... Victor Grant called Oscar Owens to replace Adam Owens with Maxwell Vance, so Oscar Owens is now taking Maxwell to Victor Grant."

When Vincent Vance suddenly mentioned Maxwell Vance, May Morgan’s face visibly showed some discomfort: "Is that so? Well, she had it coming."
