Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 109: May Morgan Is Here Too
Maxwell Vance saw Jacob Jennings suddenly leave and couldn’t help asking, "Where is he going?"
Vincent Vance smiled faintly and deliberately diverted Maxwell’s attention, saying, "How are you and Adam Owens doing recently? Is your relationship progressing smoothly?"
Upon hearing this, Maxwell shook his head a little dejectedly and sighed, "No, Adam still has May Morgan on his mind, he doesn’t even look at me. I’m very troubled now, if this goes on, I might go crazy."
The last thing Vincent wanted to hear was that Adam was still thinking about May, even though he knew that May no longer had feelings for Adam. However, Vincent had a strong sense of possessiveness. Just thinking about another man having thoughts about his woman made him uncomfortable.
"Why not find a way to have something happen with Adam? That way, I can stand up for you as your brother, right?" A profound smile passed over Vincent’s lips, and he whispered in Maxwell’s ear.
Maxwell was startled by Vincent’s suggestion and quickly, with a flushed face, shook her head, "No, no, no, brother, I don’t dare."
Though usually a bit unruly, Maxwell was still quite conservative in her thinking. Vincent’s hint to seduce Adam and have a relationship with him may have been a shortcut, but it was something Maxwell found hard to accept.
After all, she was still an inexperienced girl and was a bit shy about such matters.
Seeing Maxwell’s flushed face, Vincent couldn’t help but sigh softly. He knew Maxwell was still a naïve little girl, and asking her to take the initiative to seduce Adam was difficult.
"Forget it, let’s just pretend I didn’t say anything." Vincent smiled faintly, reached out to touch Maxwell’s head, and comforted her with a smile.
After the two strolled around the garden, Jacob Jennings suddenly reappeared from behind the rockery, looking at Vincent with disappointment.
"Maxwell, you go back first, I have something to do." Vincent patted Maxwell’s shoulder, signaling her to leave first.
Maxwell turned to look at the suddenly appearing Jacob Jennings, feeling that something was up between them, but she never liked to meddle in her brother’s affairs, so she nodded and obediently went back.
Once Maxwell left, Vincent immediately asked Jacob Jennings, "How about it? Did you find anything?"
Jacob shook his head regretfully and told Vincent honestly, "Not yet. I checked all the villas except the main one, but I didn’t see Melanie Morgan."
Vincent frowned and pondered, "Logically, if the old man really harbored Melanie, he wouldn’t let her appear in the public eye at such an important occasion. But if she’s not in the nearby villas, then Logan Vance is deceiving me."
Gazing at Vincent, Jacob Jennings slowly analyzed, "I don’t think the Second Young Master would need to lie. We’re not fools; whether Melanie is at the Vance Residence can be easily discovered. There’s no need for such a foolish lie."
Upon hearing this, Vincent’s confusion deepened. If Logan didn’t deceive him, then Melanie must be hiding. But where could a living person hide?
Jacob Jennings had exceptional investigative abilities, and if she were there, he would surely find her, unless she wasn’t outside but staying in the main villa with Grandpa.
"The banquet is about to start, let’s go inside and see what’s happening first," Vincent said, glancing back at the direction of the main villa and instructing Jacob.
Once they pushed open the door and entered, the family banquet was already set, waiting for the birthday star, the old man, to take his seat first. Vincent looked around and was suddenly surprised to find that Logan was not present.
The family banquet already started, and Logan always liked to show diligence in front of Grandpa, so why was he suddenly absent this time?
Something’s wrong!
Vincent quickly pulled Jacob Jennings and whispered an order, "Hurry and drive back to see if the Young Mistress is okay."
He feared most that Logan was employing a diversion, tricking him into coming to the Vance Residence to find Melanie, while trying to take action against May, hence the need to have Jacob return quickly.
Seeing Logan absent also filled Jacob’s mind with suspicions, and he promptly agreed, taking the opportunity to retreat from the Vance Residence.
The old man soon took his seat at the main table amidst everyone’s support, accompanied by Oscar Owens, Audrey Vance, and others.
After Vincent sat down, he looked at the vacant spot for Logan and deliberately asked, "In such an important occasion, why isn’t Logan here?"
The old man glanced at him coldly and replied, "He said he was preparing a big gift for me, but it might take some time, though he assured me he wouldn’t be absent."
A big gift?
Upon hearing this word, Vincent’s heart skipped a beat. Could Logan’s so-called big gift be May?
Audrey Vance, noticing the situation, quickly took the chance to speak to her father, "Dad, it’s Logan who has the heart, unlike us, who have been too busy lately to pick a gift for you."
Arthur Vance looked at his daughter and sighed slightly, "Do you think I lack anything? What I lack is your filial piety, but unfortunately, some people still don’t understand it."
Vincent knew he was being implicitly criticized, but he smiled faintly and didn’t respond.
Maxwell quickly interjected, asking Grandpa, "Grandpa, do you know what kind of big gift Second Brother will give you?"
Arthur Vance was about to speak, but then Butler Lawson suddenly opened the dining room door and invited two people in.
Seeing them, everyone present was taken aback. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Master, the Second Young Master and the First Lady are here to wish you a happy birthday!" Butler Lawson announced loudly to Arthur Vance.
Vincent turned to see May entering with Logan, and his expression immediately darkened.
"Why are you here?" Vincent didn’t wait for May to reach the dining table, quickly pulling out a chair and approaching her to question her.
May looked up at him. Her expression was calm, not at all like someone coerced by Logan.
"I’m here to celebrate Grandpa’s birthday!" May responded coolly.
Vincent knew something was fishy. He had specifically asked for her opinion before, and May had clearly stated that she wouldn’t come to celebrate Arthur’s birthday, and didn’t even want to see him. So her sudden visit likely had something to do with Logan.
"You’re not feeling well. You should go back," Vincent said, casting a cold glance at Logan as he took May’s hand, intending to lead her away.
Arthur Vance, seeing this, immediately said in a deep voice, "Since you’re here, shouldn’t you say something before leaving?"
Audrey Vance, seeing her father’s displeased expression, quickly stood up and approached May and Vincent, softly persuading them, "Since you’re here, don’t upset Grandpa. Congratulate him, and then you can go back."
After saying this, she gently released Vincent’s grip on May and then personally led May to Arthur Vance, speaking kindly to her father, "Father, your granddaughter-in-law is here to wish you a happy birthday."
