You Will Only Be Mine-Chapter 469: Scary

The car ride to the school was rather uneventful. We just chatted around here and there about stuff and listened to music on the way there. Natsumi-san was driving very close to the speed limit of the road, navigating through the traffic with great skill. I can’t even tell what this woman is not good at outside of cooking.

We arrived at the school, and since it was still very early, no one really noticed us in the car with Sensei. We got out and thanked her before walking to our classroom. School this early just had a different feel to it. Normally, we arrive around the time many of the other students arrive too, but since not a lot of people were around, we could just walk around without thinking much about the eyes looking at us. Wait.

"I forgot my eye patch," I realized, and I spoke out loud. My eyes widened, but I heard a little chuckle from Ai. Looking over to her, she reached into her bag to pull out my eye patch, holding it in front of me proudly.

"Looking for this?" Ai asked me, and I saw a goddess right before my eyes.

"My hero..." I muttered, reaching for it, but she pulled away.

"No, I want to put this on Kazu-kun," she said with a big smile and moved closer, putting the patch over my right eye. I stood there as her face came really close, and as I expected, she left a little peck on my lips before moving away. "No one is around, so I can do that freely in the school, too."

"You really can’t wait for these things," I said, which honestly is pretty hypocritical since I am the same as her in that fashion.

"Nope," she said happily and latched onto my arm, resting her head on my shoulder. "On to the classroom now!" she cheered, and we walked together.

On the way, we came across a few students who kept blankly staring at us as we passed by. I could feel the jealous glares from them, but decided not to pay any heed to it. All of that image was blocked by the radiance of the little half-vampire stuck to me like glue. Entering the class, three students were already there who stared at us with their eyes widened. We made our way to my seat since Ai didn’t really feel like sitting at hers until her friends arrived. She took the chair from the desk in front of me and sat facing me.

We chatted a little as the class started to slowly fill in with more students. Each one has an audible reaction to us. Soon, the trio also arrived and made their way to my seat.

"Someone is early today. Are you making up for missing another day of school?" Haruka said, patting Ai’s back.

"You can say that," she said with a sly smile on her face. "Anyways, I have a plan."

"For what?" we all asked in unison.

"To get Kazu-kun in the same group as me!" she said, throwing her fist in the air, and we blankly stared at her. She is not letting this go.

"Ai, the list is already submitted by Kawazuki-sensei, there is nothing we can do," Asumi said, placing her hand on Ai’s hand. "This wouldn’t have happened if you hadn’t missed school."

"B-But that was because Kazu-ku- "

She was about to say something unnecessary. They looked at her suspiciously, and Ai started racking her head, thinking what to say. "It’s my fault, sorry. I got my eye checked by the doctor and got this medicine for it, but it was quickly painful in the eye, so I was not able to really come to school, having to deal with it. Ai didn’t want to leave me alone like that, so she skipped school with me," I quickly followed.

"Aah, makes sense," Haruka said. "By the way, Kazuki-kun, is your eye better?"

"A little, it doesn’t hurt anymore, but I am asked not to expose it to anything for some time," I explained, and it looks like they bought it.

"Yeah, and Kazu-kun was rolled up in the bed all cutely during all this, so you can’t blame me for not wanting to leave him alone. It’s Kazu-kun’s fault," she said playfully, and thanks to that, they bought the lie even better. Good going, Ai, and thank you for throwing me under the bus like that. Though I did come up with this.

After some pulling, the three were able to get to leave my seat and go sit back in hers, which she of course didn’t want. The guy who sat in front of me looked at the seat as if it were a valuable collector’s item, but immediately sat down on it, normally watching me stare at him.

The class was now bustling with students, and many of them were talking amongst themselves. I could overhear the excitement about the trip to Kyoto and them planning on what to bring, where to go, and when to sneak out of the group to have their own outing. Yeah, the last part won’t be the best idea with Sensei around, which I think they also understand. Some students did try to do something like this last year, only to be shown hell by Sensei. She didn’t originally have to go there with them, but had to as a supervisor for the trip. I’m pretty sure it was more likely connected to a mission, but it wasn’t really confirmed by anything.

I felt a light tap on my shoulder and turned around to see three guys surrounding my desk now. I could recognise them as my classmates, Tanaka, Nakamura, and Kobayashi.

"Yo, Shiba, how are you doing?" Nakamura said with a friendly smile. As far as I remember about him, he never really fully stood out with much, but has always been a big part of any event that our class takes part in. A real team player. "Kawazuki-sensei has put you in our group for the trip, so we just wanted to come over and have a little chat."

"Aah, I did hear about that. Sensei didn’t really tell me about who would be in my group so I got a little surprised," I said, turning towards them. "I believe we haven’t talked much before, so I hope to get to know you all well."

"Don’t be so formal now, we are all classmates here," Kobayashi said, popping from behind Nakamura, putting his arm around his shoulder. He had quite a tall stature and was well-built too. He was part of the basketball team at the school. "Is your eye getting better, by the way?" he asked.

"Oh, this? It’s better, had to skip a day to get it checked and all, but just have to keep it covered with a patch," I said, and he gave me a thumbs up.

"We were thinking if you want to discuss what to do about the trip. You know what to bring and stuff. Some of it was briefed to us, but there are still things we can bring for ourselves," Tanaka said. He had glasses on and was always seen hanging around these two. Sadly, I don’t know much about him. Sorry, Tanaka.

"Sure, you guys decided on anything yet?" I asked, and they all pulled the chairs from around them, which weren’t currently occupied, and placed them before me to sit down.

"First, things everyone has to bring are clothes for five days, since that’s around how long the trip will be. Outside that, just the usual necessities, toiletries, and stuff. Sensei did say we can bring snacks, so I got that department covered," Nakamura said proudly.

"I’m bringing some board games and cards since I have some with me," Tanaka said.

"I’m in charge of the, wait, you guys didn’t give me anything specific to bring," Kobayashi said, looking at the two. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

"Just bring yourself, that is more than enough," Tanaka said.

"That’s not fair," Kobayashi complained.

"How about the first aid stuff? You probably have that right? Given how often you injure yourself," Nakamura said.

"I think I have a box of that somewhere," he said. "I’ll bring some snacks too, then. Can’t have too much of those."

They discussed a little amongst themselves about how, if the snacks were also being brought by Kobayashi, they would end up with way too many of them. Apparently, he has a huge appetite, which I am not surprised by. He is a big guy.

"Sorry to leave you out of the loop like this, Shiba," Tanaka apologised to me.

"No, no, it’s fine. You three are really close, aren’t you?" I commented, and Kobayashi looked proud.

"Yep, we are best of friends. They are like family," he said smugly.

"He is a huge softie," Nakamura commented and got in a little choke hold by Kobayashi.

"Just because I watch kids’ shows with my sisters doesn’t mean I am a big softie," he said, pulling Nakamura, who had already tapped out.

This is quite the lively group.
