You Cultivate, I Farm-Chapter 100
Chapter 100: The Sky Sword Array and Mountain Suppression
"Lu Da-ge, you ask, and I promise to reveal all, share everything!" Bai Li Jianqing nodded vigorously.
"Your grandfather spent many years cultivating at the Sky Sword Sect. I'm sure you're quite knowledgeable about many things within the sect."
"I'd like to ask, after entering the sect, can disciples have their own spiritual fields to cultivate spirit plants freely?"
"Naturally. Upon entry, the sect will assign Foundation Building and even Core Formation cultivators to teach and explain cultivation methods, instructing in the ways of cultivating pills, formations, and other cultivation techniques. Occasionally, there are sect tasks that must be completed."
"Besides these, outer disciples can manage their time freely as long as they don't violate sect rules, then there won't be any issues."
"As for the spiritual fields... the Sky Sword Sect covers more than a thousand miles, with numerous peaks. Disciples can independently develop their caves within designated areas. Moreover, after advancing to inner disciples, they can even have their own spiritual veins."
Lu Xuan nodded in understanding.
"Lu Da-ge, you're asking so much, could it be that..." Bai Li Jianqing appeared hesitant to ask what was on his mind.
"Exactly. After entering the sect, the first thing I want to do is cultivate spirit plants and raise spirit beasts."
"You're just a bit older than me, Lu Da-ge. Being able to cultivate to your current level as a wandering cultivator shows exceptional talent. So why think of cultivating spirit plants?"
"Everyone has their own aspirations. Just like your obsession with the way of the sword, I am equally devoted to watching the spirit plants and beasts I cultivate gradually grow and mature."
"Moreover, while spirit plants may not be as powerful as pill refining or formations, they're still a part of cultivation techniques. Without a cultivator of spirit plants, how would you obtain the sword grass you're so fixated on?"
Lu Xuan countered.
"You're right. I absolutely support your decision, Lu Da-ge."
Upon hearing about cultivating the sword grass he desired, Bai Li Jianqing's face lit up, his narrow eyes disappearing into slits.
Lu Xuan used this opportunity to solidify the image of someone wholly dedicated to cultivating spirit plants.
After several days, beneath a colossal stone sword, there lay a wide square.
At one end of the square, two white jade square tables were arranged, with two disciples of the Sky Sword Sect dressed in green robes seated at each. Seven or eight outer disciples maintained order around them.
Lu Xuan and Bai Li Jianqing arrived early at the square. At one table, there were only a few people, all dressed in Daoist robes, emanating spiritual energy. Their eyes were profound.
In contrast, the other table had a line that seemed to stretch with no fewer than a hundred people.
As Lu Xuan was about to call Bai Li Jianqing over, he noticed Bai Li Jianqing had somehow moved to the shorter line.
"You can't just cut in like that..."
Just as Lu Xuan was about to call him over, he saw Bai Li Jianqing take out a green token and teasingly wave it at him.
"A Green Cloud Token? Having that token is like having a VIP pass?"
Lu Xuan recognized the token in Bai Li Jianqing's hand; he had one himself.
Glancing at the long queue still waiting, Lu Xuan silently moved behind Bai Li Jianqing and, amidst his surprised gaze, produced the Green Cloud Token from his storage pouch.
"Lu Da-ge, you're keeping your real status hidden, obtaining a Green Cloud Token as a wandering cultivator."
Lu Xuan smiled.
"It was a fortunate coincidence."
The disciples of the Sky Sword Sect seated at the white jade tables needed to conduct initial screenings of the many cultivators present, testing bone age, cultivation level, and their aura.
Except for a few specially invited low to mid-tier Qi cultivators, those over thirty or whose cultivation hadn’t reached the high-tier Qi stage or those with dubious backgrounds would be eliminated in the first round.
Initially worried that his talent might not let him pass, Lu Xuan later learned from Bai Li Jianqing that while talent was essential, what mattered more was the cultivator's actual cultivation level.
After all, in the path of cultivation, if a cultivator wanted continuous improvement, they needed a combination of talent, blessings, mentality, resources, and methods. Being able to reach the high-tier Qi stage before thirty indicated a particular advantage in one or several aspects.
With the assurance of the Green Cloud Token, the first round of screening was merely a formality. Soon, an outer disciple of the Sky Sword Sect stepped forward.
"Hello, future junior martial siblings. I'll be leading you to the Sky Sword Sect."
With that, he tapped his storage pouch, and a shuttle-shaped flying boat appeared on the ground, shimmering with spiritual light and adorned with numerous runes—a second-tier flying artifact.
Lu Xuan saluted and followed the others onto the boat.
The flying boat moved at incredible speed, soaring through the sky. Below, the continuous mountains turned into fleeting shadows, continuously passing by.
During the journey, the handsome outer disciple of the Sky Sword Sect was warm and eager, engaging the passengers in conversation while piloting the flying boat.
Even toward Lu Xuan, who was dressed plainly, there was no hint of disdain. He knew that anyone possessing the Green Cloud Token was either from an extraordinary background or possessed unique talent, highly favored. Despite being an early entrant into the Sky Sword Sect, he would soon be surpassed by others present.
After a brief time, the flying boat arrived at a colossal array shrouding the sky.
The array stretched for who knew how many miles, with stars twinkling in the sky, occasionally shooting stars falling onto the surface of the array, stirring up strands of sword intent resembling swimming fish.
As Lu Xuan focused intently, infinite sword intent seemed to surge within those stars.
"This is the Celestial Sword Array of the Starry Skies, the protective array of the Sky Sword Sect. It's also renowned in the cultivation world as a lethal formation, known for its killing power. Even Nascent Soul experts may perish if trapped within."
The dignified outer disciple proudly introduced it to the group.
After the flying boat landed, he led Lu Xuan and the others to a massive stone tortoise.
The tortoise was immense, its shell mottled with the marks of countless years, lying motionless outside the array.
With a flick of the finger, the Sky Sword Sect disciple sent a deep purple pill flying into the tortoise's mouth. The tortoise laboriously lifted its head, a murky spiritual energy flickering. Lu Xuan felt as if every inch of him was laid bare in front of the stone tortoise.
"This is the Mountain-Suppressing Tortoise, the guardian spirit beast. Its age is immeasurable. It can converse with humans, discern evil spirits, and in the future, if any of you enter or leave the mountain gate, you can feed it a specially crafted beast pill, to open the door for convenience."
Feeding a guardian spirit beast? Lu Xuan found the idea rather thrilling.
Seeing the old tortoise nod slightly, the Sky Sword Sect disciple approached a barrier of spiritual energy, taking out a black inscribed plaque. A burst of spiritual energy appeared, and a small
door within the spiritual barrier, enough for two people to pass, materialized.
Lu Xuan followed him, entering the array.
As he stepped inside, he immediately sensed a rich, pure spiritual power enveloping him, instantly invigorating his internal energy. It was leagues beyond the energy in the courtyard he had in the marketplace, a sensation of progress surging through him.
"Incredible for a sect. In this abundant and pure spiritual energy, spirit plants should grow more rapidly and potentially yield higher quality, right?"
Lu Xuan thought to himself.
Inside the sect, mountains, rivers, lakes, and dense spiritual energy filled the air. The skies were filled with myriad colors, and various peculiar spirit birds and beasts freely roamed, showcasing the grandeur of the sect.
