Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back-Chapter 54: Whatever He Wants, Tanya Will Give
"Tanya, did you know that Aunt Lewis resigned?" Vincent Hawthorne let go of Cindy Lynn and casually asked.
Tanya Sinclair responded calmly, "She said there was an emergency back home and had to go back. I told her to inform you before she left." ๐๐๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐๐ธ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ต.๐ฌ๐ค๐ข
Vincent paused, "...is that all?"
Tanya replied innocently, "Is there something else I should know?"
"..."
Vincent was momentarily rendered speechless by her counter-question.
Tanya continued, "Oh, Vincent, when I called Grandma this morning to check on her, I mentioned this. We need a reliable babysitter at home to take care of the kids. Grandma said she would arrange for someone to come."
Since it was Grandmaโs suggestion, Vincent naturally had no objections.
"Alright, I understand. Letโs do as Grandma suggests."
"Vincent, when are you all coming back?" Tanya inquired.
"We just left and are planning to head home now."
Vincent said this as he took out the car key to unlock the car, then opened the rear door for Caden and Joy to get in first.
Cindy Lynn also opened the passenger door and got into the car.
Tanya heard the sound of the car door closing from Vincentโs side.
Suddenly, she had an idea, "Vincent, letโs have a video call. I want to see the two darlings."
Without waiting for Vincent to respond, Tanyaโs video call request came through.
She did it deliberately, knowing that Cindy Lynn must be sitting in the passenger seat now!
However, without a second thought, Vincent hung up and switched to a voice call.
Looking at the voice call notification on her phone screen, Tanya was slightly stunned. She smiled coldly and pressed to answer.
Vincent said calmly, "Weโll be back soon; you can see them at home. Joy is a bit tired and almost asleep."
"...Alright." Tanya replied blandly.
He wasnโt even willing to ask Cindy Lynn to hide.
A wave of bitterness rose in her throat. Tanya closed her eyes wearily, full of sarcasm.
So Vincent could love someone this much too.
...
Vincent dropped Cindy Lynn off at her home.
In the back seat, Joy, tired from playing, had fallen asleep leaning against her brother, and Caden was nodding off with his eyes closed.
"Today I took up your rest time, making you play with Joy and Caden. Thank you." Vincent said.
"No problem, I also enjoy spending time with the two little ones. And..." Cindy looked up at Vincent, her gaze tender like water, "Apart from work, I am happy to spend personal time with you."
After speaking, Cindy didnโt wait for Vincentโs response and efficiently unbuckled her seatbelt and got out of the car.
She waved at Vincent and turned to walk into the apartment complex.
Vincent watched Cindyโs back for a few seconds before retracting his gaze and driving away.
"Dad." Caden opened his eyes at some point.
"Hmm?" Vincent looked through the rearview mirror at his sleepy-eyed son.
"Why didnโt you tell Mom that we went out with Aunt Cindy today?" He didnโt understand.
Vincent hesitated as he considered how to explain when Caden suddenly asked.
"Dad, do you like Aunt Cindy?"
"Caden!" Vincentโs face turned slightly cold, with a hint of reprimand, "Donโt say such things again in the future!"
Despite being only five years old, Caden, though precocious, was still afraid of his father. Although Vincent was usually gentle, his stern look and anger had a significant deterrent effect on Caden.
Vincent, realizing he was too harsh, took a deep breath, softening his tone to answer Cadenโs previous question.
"You donโt understand your mother. She..." Vincent tapped the steering wheel with his fingers, pausing for a moment, then slowly said, "Sometimes sheโs very clingy and troublesome."
She was already hostile to Cindy, and rather than spend time explaining and soothing her, a little lie could simplify things a lot.
Caden, not quite understanding Vincentโs words, scratched his head, eventually succumbing to sleepiness and fell asleep.
As Vincent drove past Westgard Pharmaceuticals Headquarters, he glanced out the window inadvertently, spotting a familiar figure.
It was his cousin Silas Hawthorne!
He stepped out of the car, carrying a document, and quickly walked towards the entrance of Westgard Pharmaceuticals, where a person dressed as a secretary was walking out to greet him.
Vincentโs eyes flickered with unease.
Could it be that Silas had already privately contacted the current owner of Westgard Pharmaceuticalsโthe mysterious Second Young Master Pierce, Declan Pierce?!
He rarely felt anxious.
If Silas managed to secure a collaboration opportunity with Westgard Pharmaceuticals, Vincentโs position as General Manager might be at stake!
Vincent suddenly felt a strong sense of crisis.
At that moment, Father Hawthorneโs call came through.
"Dad."
Theodore Hawthorne didnโt waste words, directly stating, "I donโt know what connections the second family managed to make, but theyโve gotten in touch with the Second Young Master Pierce himself! Also, Declan seems interested in the collaboration project Silas provided and even agreed to meet him. You need to act quickly! Whatโs Tanya Sinclairโs situation now?"
Though Theodore also disapproved of this daughter-in-law, Tanya Sinclair was undoubtedly a genuine genius.
The Alzheimerโs disease project she worked on during university is Westgard Pharmaceuticalsโ current focus.
As long as Tanya Sinclair can make further breakthroughs, the projects in Silasโs hands wonโt stand a chance!
Vincent spoke in a low voice, "Tanya will return to the company next Monday. Iโll ensure she fully concentrates on the Alzheimerโs disease project, completing a comprehensive development plan within a week."
"Hmm." Theodore was barely content; one week seemed about right.
Westgard Pharmaceuticals will have a two-week assessment period before the collaboration. Silas wonโt secure it that quickly.
Theodore issued a final stern reminder to Vincent.
"I donโt care how you do it, persuade or deceive, you must ensure Tanya is fully committed to this project! Whether your position in the company skyrockets or plummets depends on Tanya!"
After a pause, Theodore laughed vaguely, "The situation now is much like it was seven years ago."
"..."
Vincent remained silent.
Seven years ago, Tanya gave everything for him, creating a path for his success. This time, sheโll surely help him again.
After all, to Tanya, he was her entire world... Whatever he wanted, she would give.
Even her life, she never hesitated to offer.
"Donโt worry, Dad," Vincent smiled confidently, "Tanya will never let me down."
The medical genius Tanya Sinclair was his wife and his most loyal and useful card.
