Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back-Chapter 356: I Have Something Important to Show You
Tanya Sinclair walked into the room and saw Old Master Kendall sitting on the bed, looking lovingly at Abby, who was bringing him water.
But the deeper sadness in his eyes was undeniable.
Tanya gently called out, "Grandpa Kendall."
Old Master Kendall raised his head and nodded slightly upon seeing Tanya Sinclair.
In the recent days they hadn’t met, Old Master Kendall had visibly aged a lot. Previously, during his birthday celebration, he was still energetic and commanding. But now, he looked like an elderly man drained of vitality.
"Margaret, Grandpa wants some chicken porridge. Can you go watch over it in the kitchen? Later, bring it with Uncle Butler to Grandpa."
"Okay." Abby responded crisply and started to leave, lightly tugging at Tanya’s hand as she passed by her.
Tanya understood her meaning; she was asking her to take good care of Grandpa Kendall.
Tanya smiled gently and patted Abby’s head.
After Abby left, Tanya approached the bedside.
Old Master Kendall coughed lightly and said, "Abby’s original name didn’t sound pleasant, so I changed it. From now on, she will be called Margaret Morgan, keeping her original surname, but in the future, she’ll be the apple of the Kendall Family’s eye."
Tanya was touched, not expecting the Kendall Family to care so deeply for Abby, an orphan.
"Margaret is a blessed child," Tanya said softly. "Grandpa, don’t worry, Felix Kendall will be fine."
Hearing his grandson’s name, Old Master Kendall’s restrained emotions became agitated, tears welled up in his eyes. "That rascal is too arrogant! He should have retreated once the mission was over! But the special unit sent for a secret mission to rescue hostages went missing. He returned to the island to search. Recently, that small island, a newly independent residential island, has been battling an epidemic caused by a new virus. Domestic customs are on high alert..."
"Grandpa, Felix is not an ordinary person. He has returned safely from so many missions," Tanya said earnestly. "This time won’t be any different."
Old Master Kendall closed his eyes heavily.
"Every time he goes out, I prepare myself for the possibility of him sacrificing for the country. But I’m indeed old, not ready to bury my own grandson..."
"Grandpa Kendall!" Tanya interrupted him. "Felix will definitely return. Let me take your pulse first. Take care of your health, and with Margaret, await his return."
Saying this, Tanya took Old Master Kendall’s hand to feel his pulse.
As Old Master Kendall watched her focused demeanor, he smiled with a sense of nostalgia.
If he hadn’t left on missions back then, perhaps Tanya would have been his granddaughter-in-law... Now, if there is still a chance, maybe it isn’t too late...
"Tanya, when Felix returns safely, you must come over for a meal. To welcome him back!"
"Okay." Tanya agreed without a second thought, "I will definitely come!"
Tanya took Old Master Kendall’s pulse, administered acupuncture, and prepared a prescription for the butler to fill.
She stayed with Old Master Kendall for a while longer before leaving the Kendall Family home.
Abby reluctantly held her hand.
Abby: "Goodbye, Aunt Sinclair."
Tanya patted her head and smiled gently, "Next time, Auntie will bring Caden and Joy to play with you, okay?"
"Okay." Abby pursed her lips, "Aunt Sinclair, Uncle Kendall, he..."
"He just got delayed outside, but he will come back," Tanya said seriously, "Aunt Sinclair guarantees it." 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Only then did Abby smile.
Tanya also smiled.
She got into the car and left. Through the rearview mirror, she could still see Abby waving vigorously. No, from now on, there would no longer be the poor little orphan Abby. Now, she was Margaret.
The Kendall Family’s treasured Margaret.
Tanya sighed lightly; her abilities were limited. All she could do was silently pray for Felix Kendall.
The car drove all the way to the Sinclair Family’s old residence. Just as Tanya got out of the car, two blinding headlights shone from the shadows.
She instinctively raised her hand to shield her eyes, peering through her fingers to see a familiar silhouette that made her stomach churn.
"Tanya." Vincent Hawthorne walked over swiftly, holding a manila envelope.
Tanya didn’t want to waste words with him.
"Joy is staying with me tonight. If there’s nothing special, I’ll have Aunt Tawny bring her back tomorrow."
"I’m not here for Joy. I want to talk to you."
"We have nothing to talk about. If you really want to talk, go to my lawyer." Tanya said this and was about to leave but was held back by Vincent.
She shook his hand off forcefully, her anger barely concealed. "You never seem to get enough, do you?"
Vincent, exasperatingly rogue, replied, "If you speak any louder, Joy and Caden will come out to witness their parents fighting."
Tanya: "..."
Vincent used an almost pleading tone, "I have something important to show you about Declan Pierce."
Vincent handed her the manila envelope, "Read it, and if you still don’t want to talk to me, I’ll leave immediately."
