Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back-Chapter 334: First Snow
The next day, Tanya Sinclair opened her eyes and first saw the man’s hand around her waist, with long, slender fingers and faintly protruding blue veins on the back of the hand, creating a kind of alluring sexiness against the thin, pale skin.
Even his knuckles were beautifully defined.
Tanya vaguely recalled that the first time she met Declan Pierce after waking up, she actually saw his hand. At that moment, she thought that such a hand would feel very warm and reassuring when held.
Tanya gently held his hand, slowly pressing hers into his palm. She remembered how warm Declan’s touch used to be, like a furnace, but now his temperature was lower than hers, and warmth flowed from her palm down along the deep lines on his hand, slowly passing warmth to him.
Tanya felt a strange twinge in her nose, as if she sensed how Declan’s blood had flowed towards her through the years.
The large hand she was playing with suddenly tightened, enveloping her entirely, and then his voice, low, husky, and magnetic, sounded near her ear, thick with sleepiness.
"Awake?"
Tanya turned around in his embrace, and from her slightly upturned perspective, Declan looked down at her. His eyelashes were long and thick, casting dense shadows under his eyelids.
Tanya stretched her neck and gently kissed him, her eyes soft and tender like water.
"Good morning, Mr. Pierce."
Declan remained stunned for a moment, then pulled Tanya into his arms, a great fullness and happiness filling his chest. So much so that the worries yet to come seemed unbearably heavy in comparison.
After a moment of silence, Declan bent down to kiss her hair, and asked her warmly, "What would you like to eat?"
Tanya thought for a moment, "I’ll eat whatever you make."
She always liked what he made. Because Declan never forgot her preferences.
She should have realized sooner.
How could it be such a coincidence that everything he casually bought happened to be her favorites?
Declan got out of bed first to go downstairs to prepare breakfast. As he reached the door, he turned back to remind her, "There are your clothes in the wardrobe. Chosen based on my taste."
Tanya lingered in bed a bit longer before getting up and going to the wardrobe.
Inside was a wide array of women’s clothing, all in her size, even intimate wear prepared in matching sets. Most of it was in soft, clean light colors, with understated but very fitting and neat cuts.
Tanya selected a light-colored long dress and a knitted cardigan. After washing and dressing, she went downstairs, and the first thing she noticed was the vase on the table, holding yellow roses.
Declan was busy preparing breakfast, his movements skillful, his exceptional looks making even breakfast preparation seem like shooting an ad.
Tanya watched from the side for a while and couldn’t resist taking pictures of him with her phone.
During breakfast, Tanya told Declan about visiting Abby’s parents’ cemetery that day.
Declan said, "So that’s what Felix Kendall talked to you about alone last night?"
"And one more thing," Tanya said, taking a bite of her fried egg, sharing some gossip with Declan, "Yvonne Hawthorne is chasing after Felix Kendall."
Declan raised an eyebrow teasingly, "What a tangled love affair."
After breakfast, Declan accompanied Tanya to the cemetery. Since Abby’s parents’ identities were unrecognized, they couldn’t be buried in the Martyr’s Cemetery, so Tanya chose the closest cemetery to it. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
She picked the best plot of land to bury Abby’s parents together.
Felix Kendall had already left the country for a mission. He had arranged for a deputy to deliver the ashes of Abby’s parents and a photo of them together.
The photo was taken before they set off.
They were not yet thirty when they died.
On the way back, Tanya suddenly held Declan’s hand very tightly. Declan silently returned the pressure of her grip, and light snowflakes began to drift down from the sky.
Tanya stood in front of the car, gently tilting her head up.
"Declan, it’s snowing."
"Hmm."
Her eyes sparkled as she looked at him, persistently, earnestly pleading, "This year, can we spend the New Year together?"
Declan tightened her collar a bit, not meeting her eyes, only smiling as he said, "Alright."
