WorldCrafter - Building My Underground Kingdom-Chapter 155 - Elvira’s Spell Barrage
155: Elvira’s Spell Barrage
155: Elvira’s Spell Barrage
Seeing the barrage hurtling toward him, the Magus grinned.
His mana surged, a black aether erupting from within him.
The air warped.
The ground shivered.
CRACK!
The earth split beneath his feet, and with a deafening roar, walls of stone rose skyward in rapid succession, layered like a fortress.
At the same time, runes flared across the dome’s surface, barriers forged from shadow and lightning, crackling with layered wards.
“Come then!” the Magus roared beneath the growing storm.
The first layer struck.
The storm-spear of fire, ice, and lightning slammed into the dome.
The outer shell buckled, blistered, and cracked, but held.
Second layer.
Elemental arrows rained down.
Some were absorbed by the barrier.
Others pierced deep into the cracks, detonating with force that shook the dome’s base.
Third.
Fourth.
Fifth.
Each wave landed with relentless fury.
Explosions ripped through the walls.
Flames tore into stone.
Pillars of ice ruptured the defenses from below, stabbing toward the core like spears from hell.
The shockwave compressed everything inward, slamming the Magus with the weight of a collapsing world.
But the Magus stood, arms outstretched, grinning through the pain.
“Not bad,” he muttered, blood trailing from the corner of his mouth.
Then the sixth layer came.
Elemental spears rained from above, each one a heavenly judgment of pure mana.
They bypassed the broken walls entirely, homing in on the Magus
He raised both arms.
A wall of lightning burst forth, but it wasn’t enough.
The first spear struck his shoulder.
The second grazed his thigh.
The third slammed into his chest.
The Magus screamed, his body arcing backward.
His wings shattered.
He plummeted to the ground, slamming into the center of the battlefield just as the seventh and final layer bloomed above.
The light descended.
The Magus looked up, one arm broken, his torso torn open, and yet—he laughed.
“Magnificent…”
Then the beam swallowed everything.
The cracked stone groaned, then twisted.
Chunks of shattered wall began to quiver, then float, glowing with runes as raw mana surged through them.
In seconds, the debris slammed together, forming arms, torsos, heads.
Golems.
Hundreds no, thousands of them, rising from the ground like a marching tide of war.
Ben’s eyes narrowed.
“He’s using the rubble…?”
Elvira cursed under her breath.
“It’s not just that, he’s using aether to summon golem from the terrain.
This make them loss their weakness.”
With her knowledge she should be able to distrupt or even hijack normal golem, but his one?
It’s something that she doesn’t understand.
Ben’s jaw clenched.
He lifted his pickaxe.
“One, send all the Krell.”
From the depths of the base, the walls opened.
Dozens of compartments hissed open, and they came come out.
Krell Tanks.
Scouts.
Soldiers.
Even the newly crafted reinforcements.
Ben’s voice rang through the Hive Mind.
“Hold the walls.
Don’t let them breach a single line.”
Mana burst from Elvira’s hands.
The next moment all krell were teleported out of the base.
The moment the first golem charged, a Krell Tank met it head on with a roar of clanging metal.
BOOM!
The impact shook.
Sparks flew as reinforced claws slammed into stone, cracking the golem’s torso with a uppercut.
From above, Krell Scouts perched along the wall fired volleys of elemental-tipped arrows.
Some exploded into frost, freezing joints solid.
Others burst with fire, softening the stone armor before impact.
One let out a screech through the hive mind: “Form Delta Shell!
Rotate on the third line!”
On the wall, One watched it unfold, eyes aglow with tactical overlays.
“Reroute Squad Twelve to the west flank,” he ordered calmly.
“Divert Trap Unit to support the front gate.
Prepare the balistae for multi-shot volley.”
Swooosh!!!
BAM!
From the towers, ballista launched again , this time in a three shot salvo.
The bolts spun mid-air, releasing shrapnel cores that detonated above the advancing enemy.
BAM!
BAM!
BAM!
Dozens of golems were shredded before they reached the walls, their enchanted cores exposed, and quickly shattered by follow-up arrowfire.
Below, golems began climbing over their fallen, piling up like an unstoppable tide of stone.
But they didn’t know what waited.
The magic circle flared.
Massive, gear-driven blades erupted from trap panel, slicing entire lines of golems into rubble.
The rest slowed.
A Krell Soldier roared past the barricade, slamming a spear directly into a golem’s chest and detonating a built-in crystal charge.
BOOM!
“Keep attacking!” One shouted, issuing five simultaneous adjustments to troop formation through the hive mind.
Ben stood atop the tower, eyes fixed on the battlefield.
“Don’t let them breach.” He turned toward the dark shape hovering in the distance.
The Magus still floated there, untouched.
“What he’s planning now?” His grip tightened.
Crackle—BOOM!
Lightning ripped through the sky, arcing downward into the backs of the stone golems below.
Ben’s eyes narrowed.
“So, that’s your plan.”
Then the ground rumbled.
The golems didn’t stay down.
Even the ones that had been smashed to pieces began to pull themselves back together.
Chunks of stone floated into place, locking in with heavy cracks.
Broken arms regrew, shattered legs reformed.
Their eyes flared, first blue, then white, then glowing violet, as more mana poured through their cores.
Glowing lines lit up all over their bodies, like burning marks etched into their stone skin.
Strange symbols flared on their chests, arms, and legs alive with energy.
And the golems weren’t just marching anymore.
They moved like soldier, creating formations.
CRACK!
The Magus raised his hand and barked a command in ancient languate.
Instantly, the golems shifted.
They formed into a wedge formation, thickest at the front with reinforced hulks, lighter models at the flanks, and spiked artillery units in the back.
“That bastard just turned them into a proper army,” Ben muttered, lips tightening.
And then the Magus… sat.
Hovering above his army, he crossed his legs in midair, hands resting on his knees.
Energy shimmered around him like a second skin.
Elvira growled from behind, mana flaring across her fingers.
“He’s trying to recover.”
Draeven slammed a fist against the stone wall.
“We can’t let him!”
But Ben didn’t look angry.
“We kill every golem,” he said, resting the pickaxe on his shoulder.
“Charging through his army to get to him?
That’s suicide.”
Elvira’s eyes narrowed.
“Then what’s the plan?”
