Wizard World:Struggles of dimensions-Chapter 2
Chapter 2:
As Layton entered the city he said goodbye to the caravan, while holding the sword he had bought when the caravan had stopped by the last town, he started walking towards the shop indicated on the map, as long as he had wizarding talent he would be taken care of by the local nobles until the day the wizard arrived to take them to the wizard academy.
Layton had gathered a lot of information about wizards in the past month, wizards weren’t a secret here and how to become one was popular knowledge but only 1% of the population had talent and the fee to take the test was ridiculously high as well. The 30 gold coins he had taken from the house was barely enough to cover it. 30 gold coins here where like 3,000 dollars back on earth and not everyone had the luxury to spend that amount of money on a simple test that they weren’t sure if they would pass.
Although there were a lot of disadvantages the advantages were equally good, once found to have talent one would be given a mark and would be able treated as a noble in the city, anything that could be provided would be provided for by the kingdom by law.
There was no way for nobles to avoid treating ones with talent well or killing them before the wizard came, because of a curse on the mark that the talented people would bear, anyone who killed them would immediately die even if they where hired to do so bothered the mastermind behind and the killer would have their families exterminated so everyone treated the talented with respect.
Although Layton didn’t know the test criteria was but with the novels he had read in his past life he guessed it had to do with the spirit and he as a crossover surely wasn’t lacking in it, it was only a question of wheter his talent would be high or low.
Taking a deep breath Layton found that he had arrived, he steadied himself and walked into the shack that was located in the corner of the alley. 𝘧𝓇𝒆𝗲𝓌𝙚𝙗𝓷o𝘷𝒆𝘭.𝐜𝚘𝒎
.....
As Layton entered the shack the first thing he saw was an old man sitting in front of a crystal ball with unknown words coming out of his mouth, when Layton saw this scene the first thing that came to his mind was danger, it was as if the old man was a deity standing in front of him and with the party’s slightest displeasure he would disappear from the world permanently.
Layton stabled his flurried breathing as he stood respectfully in front of the man. After standing for some minutes the old man finally looked up, as Layton crossed eyes with the man his mind became blank and when he got himself back he found himself outside in front of the shack with a peice of paper and metal medal in his hands and missing 30 gold coins.
Layton’s face grew ugly immediately as he looked back at the shack with fear, he had no memory of what had happened in the shack at all and one had to know since his crossing he had a perfect photographic memory, Layton sighed as he looked at the parchment in his hands, it was filled with his name and age and elemental affinity, his elemental affinity turned out to be darkness at the highest followed by wind with a smidgen of fire. There was no column for the test of one’s spirit so Layton guessed it would tested by the school itself later.
