Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree-Chapter 532: Abyss
Immediately following, a massive shadow like something crawling directly out of an abyssal nightmare slowly floated up from the depths of darkness.
It possessed a body resembling a giant whale, but the skin was not smooth; instead, it was covered in layer upon layer of heavy, bone-like obsidian plates, with faint dark red energy currents flowing between the gaps.
The head bore no evident eyes, just a constantly rotating vortex maw composed of countless tiny bone spines, exuding an aura of consuming everything.
Most striking were the twelve immensely thick tentacles extending from its sides.
These tentacles were not soft flesh but were connected by segments of dark bones, with sharp bone spurs growing at the joints; the ends were like enormous blooming metal bone claws, sparkling with ominous red energy cores.
This monster was allocated to the western battlefield as a Level 3 Slave Creature, the Abyss Dominator.
It was an extremely rare and terrifying predator, born within certain high-magic abyssal trenches, from unknown Planes.
The Abyss Dominator was used to maintain control over the western battlefield, as having this Level 3 Slave Creature present could ensure the battlefield situation followed the expected trajectory.
Upon receiving instructions from Duke, the vortex maw of the Abyss Dominator suddenly accelerated in rotation, emitting a low, soul-piercing hum.
Without even a discernable movement, its massive body appeared at the forefront of the battlefield with a speed disproportionate to its size, halting before a void jellyfish preparing to launch a plasma ball.
The void jellyfish seemed to sense a deadly threat, its bluish electric glow flickering madly as it tried to redirect the plasma ball toward this unexpected guest, but it was already too late.
One of the Abyss Dominator’s tentacles sprang forth as if transcending space, its metal bone claw opening instantly to accurately seize the jellyfish’s massive umbrella-shaped body.
The claw closed, embedding knife-sharp joints deeply into its gel-like body; dark red energy erupted from the core, instantly forming a twisted energy suppression field that coiled around it like chains.
The erratic flashing electric light on the jellyfish’s surface dimmed and became chaotic, and the plasma ball, losing energy control, exploded inside its body, making a muffled sound and rendering its body a patchwork of gaping wounds.
This was only the beginning; other tentacles lashed out like deadly whips simultaneously towards other discharge creatures, their claw tips either grasping, slapping, or directly releasing powerful mental shockwaves.
One void jellyfish struck by the claw shattered instantly, another hit in the core by the mental shockwave had its internal structure completely destroyed, going limp like a kite with its string cut.
One tried to release an arc field for protection, but the dark red energy suppression field acted like its nemesis, easily neutralizing and devouring the escaping arcs.
In almost the blink of an eye, those umbrella-like discharge creatures that caused significant trouble for the legion were easily dismantled and crushed before the suddenly appearing Level 3 Slave Creature, the Abyss Dominator, as if mere fragile toys.
Its massive body floated at the center of the battlefield, twelve bone-clawed tentacles gently swaying, its vortex maw emitting a low hum, radiating an aura of unmatched dominance.
Around it, whether stealthy needle sharks or split-finned hunters, instinctively halted for a moment, feeling fear from their Life Level.
With the threat from the discharge creatures eliminated, the pressure on the Slave Creature Legion was greatly reduced.
The Abyss Dominator did not stop, its vortex maw turned towards the depths of the insect race’s defenses, and several tentacles stabbed beneath the fungal carpet, as if sensing something.
The next moment, its massive body began moving forward, through which passage, whether spore cannon towers or small insect races, were either crushed by its casually swinging tentacles or shredded by its terrifying bone claws.
It was like an unstoppable deep-sea siege beast, forcibly carving open a path through the dense defenses of the insect race, leading straight to several Level 1 Nest ahead.
Duke, riding the winged serpent, followed closely behind the path carved by the Abyss Dominator, sharply locking his gaze on those pulsating nest cores.
Despite being only Level 1 Nests, the Level 1 Insect Race Heart inside was still extremely valuable.
This entity held a massive amount of Life Energy, perfectly suited as nourishment for the World Tree.
Even if not for personal use, selling it would fetch a hefty price, as such things were currently available but not on the market, not attainable through ordinary channels.
Duke had the winged serpent, a Level 2 creature as a guard, so he could follow the Abyss Dominator deep into the battlefield.
But other wizards lacked such capacity, having first to consider their survival before seeking loot.
Simon did not follow, instead collecting useful materials from the corpses of dead Void Insect Races at the rear.
Through combat with the Void Insect Race till now, wizards generally knew which Void Insect Race units and parts were valuable. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Simon and these wizards seized the opportunity to gather these materials, subsequently selling them for Magic Stones.
They did not need to fight over them, as the Void Insect Race was so numerous that no one could collect them all alone.
Of course, they were not solely focused on collecting materials, each leading a team of Slave Creatures, but were not responsible for the main attack on the front lines.
Instead, they each led squads to methodically advance through different areas, tasked with sweeping up residuals in the aftermath and cleaning up work following the main advance.
The Abyss Dominator resembled an apocalyptic beast of the deep, advancing unstoppably along its own blood-soaked path.
Its target unmistakable: those Level 1 Nests, like giant flesh tumors parasitizing the seabed rock, pulsating crazily.
The first Level 1 Nest appeared to sense impending doom, with insect race units pouring out from its nest attempting to use sheer numbers to impede this terrifying presence.
However, all this was futile in the face of absolute power.
The Abyss Dominator did not even utilize its terrifying tentacle bone claws; instead, the vortex maw at its head sped up its rotation, emitting a low, eerie hum.
The next moment, the seawater in the vast area ahead seemed to be bestowed with life, turning viscous and heavy, forming an invisible supergravity pressure field.
The charging insect race units, as if crashed into an invisible wall, had their speed abruptly reduced, movements becoming exceedingly difficult.
Subsequently, their hardened shells and internal structures, under that terrifyingly multiplied pressure, began to emit creaking sounds of unbearable weight, then fragmented as though crushed by an invisible giant hand, exploding violently into clumps of muddy blood mist and shell fragments.
