Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree-Chapter 465: Black Sail Auction
In the following half month, Duke silently went about his own business.
Because he had so many daily tasks, he hadn’t slept for three months, using meditation instead of sleeping.
Every day he studied and researched materials he exchanged for, then planned and adjusted crystallization strategies, conducting related experiments.
Finally, he diligently worked on skill proficiency, greatly saving time mastering magic thanks to curse magic.
Although there was a lot to do, everything proceeded methodically under Duke’s arrangement without any rushed progress.
Even though Duke wanted to advance to crystallization, he knew he couldn’t rush it; he needed to proceed steadily.
On this day, Duke just completed a small simulation experiment on energy phase shifts in the laboratory and recorded the data, asking several wood elves to tidy up the lab.
He just stepped outside to the sunny deserted island, enjoying the sun’s bath.
To Duke, sunbathing was an enjoyable activity, determined by his high light element attribute affinity talent.
For someone like him with extremely high light element affinity, as long as he could bathe in sunlight, he could slowly recover his body’s injuries and let his fatigued spiritual power gradually restore.
Duke closed his eyes, feeling the breeze on his face, the sunlight warm all over his body.
He sensed some activity from the Black Sail Badge, and upon closer inspection, it was a notification from the Third Corps.
"The Black Sail internal auction will start in seven days, limited to contribution point transactions. The auction item list has been updated. Interested colleagues should promptly review it."
Black Sail regularly held such internal auctions. Participants were all organization members, and only Black Sail contribution points could be used for bidding.
The auction items usually came from rare items in various planes or rare resources, knowledge copies, or special intelligence provided by Black Sail members.
Many wizards submitted unused resources they didn’t need. Once approved, these could appear in the internal auction.
However, the internal auction had extremely high value requirements for items; average things didn’t qualify here.
Duke felt a twinge in his heart and immediately opened the attached auction item list.
The list was long, detailing hundreds of various items ranging from rare materials and ancient relics to some profound research data, everything imaginable.
As his eyes quickly scanned them, most items, though valuable, were not what he urgently needed.
However, when the list scrolled to the latter half, an item’s description caught his attention.
"Bewildering Fruit (from Devourer Plane): A rare spirit-type fruit, translucent purplish-red in color, emitting faint spiritual waves. Tests show its juice gently nourishes spiritual power without side effects, slightly increasing the consumer’s spiritual power limit (effective for Level 1 Mages, effectiveness decreases for Level 2 and above)."
"Starting bid: 8000 contribution points."
"Note: Each person can only consume it once; multiple consumptions ineffective."
"A fruit that can directly enhance spiritual power?" Duke looked thoughtfully at this Bewildering Fruit.
Although he didn’t know how much the Bewildering Fruit could enhance spiritual power, given its good effect on Level 1 Mages, it should increase spiritual power somewhat.
The Bewildering Fruit was a product from the Devourer Plane. The war hadn’t ended, yet resources from there had already flowed out.
Currently, there was no large-scale circulation outside, limited to major wizard organizations with the privilege of obtaining these resources in advance.
The Bewildering Fruit was only effective for Level 2 Mages and below. Level 3 Mages wouldn’t find it effective.
Because Level 3 Mages’ spiritual power was too high, the increase from consuming this fruit was negligible, not very meaningful.
Duke was currently in the stage of accumulating spiritual power, so this item was useful to him but not essential.
He could rely on free attribute points to enhance spiritual power, so having the Bewildering Fruit was even better as it could speed up progress.
But even without this item, it didn’t matter to Duke, so he didn’t plan to invest too many contribution points into it.
As for other wizards, they might need this item, as enhancing spiritual power wasn’t as convenient or easy as Duke had it.
However, Duke still believed he had a good chance of acquiring this item because most potential bidders would be Level 1 Mages, and Level 2 Mages wouldn’t invest much due to limited effects.
Among Level 1 Mages, few could surpass Duke in contribution points.
With a thought, the Bewildering Fruit jumped out from the countless floating information streams before him, standing alone aside.
This was a built-in feature of the Black Sail Treasure Vault, allowing you to focus on certain items and make them more noticeable.
Duke continued browsing, seeing many good items.
"An exceptionally preserved Level 3 Void Hound skeleton with residual spatial fluctuations, top-quality material for creating space attribute witchcraft artifacts..."
"A deep exploration report and safe path map of the third fold area of the Shadow Plane..."
"A vial of Lava Heart Blood Essence, from the core area of an active fire element plane, containing violent fire element rule power..."
...
Each of these items was a treasure, but Duke calmly passed over them.
These items were currently of no use to him and served just to broaden his horizons.
With limited resources at hand, he had to allocate them wisely.
After browsing through most items, several items were already floating around Duke, all of which he deemed potentially useful.
However, his contribution point balance was only over 180,000. Acquiring them all was almost impossible; he had to make choices.
As Duke continued browsing, his gaze suddenly stopped at an item.
"Soul Soothing Holy Contract (fragment): An ancient fragment neither gold nor jade, engraved with sacred runes incomprehensible in their entirety. Identified as non-attack or defense Holy Artifact, its sole effect is forming a powerful Stable Force Field within the user’s Spiritual Sea upon activation, significantly enhancing stability for several days and reducing risks of internal energy conflicts and external interference."
"Starting bid: 25000 contribution points."
"Note: For wizards facing significant breakthroughs needing extreme stability in their Spiritual Sea, this is a great choice."
This item was practically a treasure for Level 1 Mages advancing to Level 2 Mage.
