Wizard: I Have a Game Panel-Chapter 190 - 177: Dividing the Spoils, Intimidation, and Thanks
"No need. If Speaker Lole’s plan succeeds, the wizard apprentices born from these ten layers of the Abyss should suffice for the witchcraft position I need after ascending to the Sixth Ring."
Francis shook his head slightly, "If it doesn’t work out, the Abyss Territory won’t hold much meaning for us."
"There’s always hope that it will work out."
Jerald reached out, traced two layers of the Abyss on the map from afar, and pulled them towards him, smiling as he said, "I didn’t achieve as much as Speaker Francis, so I’ll choose the forty-third, forty-fifth, and forty-seventh layers of the Abyss."
His contributions on the battlefield were average, but he worked hard initially to rescue Yasen and later managed the affairs of the Wizard World, making his claim to three layers of the Abyss reasonable.
Whether there would be objections to this was yet to be seen.
This was only a preliminary allocation. No one challenged Francis’s territory, but others might not be so assured.
"I didn’t contribute significantly in the Battle of the Abyss, so I’ll just take a third of the thirty-eighth layer of the Abyss." Domenico also reached out, tracing a third of the smallest thirty-eighth layer of the Abyss on the model, pulling it towards himself.
This piece of territory stretched approximately a hundred thousand miles long and eighty thousand miles wide.
He was only Fourth Ring now, making it easy to kill Fourth Tier demons, but a Fifth Tier demon was beyond his ability to kill or even hold off.
Yet, the key to victory lay only with the Fifth Tier demons; the Fourth Tier demons were merely extras.
No one objected to Domenico’s choice.
In fact, based on his contributions, he could have claimed half of the thirty-eighth layer of the Abyss, but it was up to him whether he took more or less; it was of little consequence.
"In the early stages of the Battle of the Abyss, I delayed..."
"I..."
"I..."
One legislator after another made their choices, dividing the spoils.
There was no arguing, the atmosphere was very calm.
But when the final decision was made, this calm was likely to be shattered.
The scenario proposed by Lole indeed had potential, and given the situation they might face after breaking through the Sixth Ring, they all wanted to accumulate more foundations for themselves.
"Since I’m the one wrapping up, I’ll take the fifty-first, sixty-third, and sixty-fifth layers of the Abyss." After comparing, Lole also made his choice.
These three layers of the Abyss were unremarkable among the forty-eight layers, each about five hundred thousand miles long and wide.
They were mainly home to Bone Demons born in the Bone Abyss and Horned Demons out of Horn Mountain.
Compared to other types of demons, these two were among the easiest to kill, aligning with the plan.
Lole’s choice didn’t cause any ripples.
Although he wasn’t there during the most difficult early stages of the war, wrapping it up was a significant contribution.
Because as time dragged on, the demons, under constant threat of life or death, might suddenly see a breakthrough to the Sixth Tier demon.
In this war, they personally witnessed three Fourth Tier demons suddenly break through to the Fifth Tier, resulting in the deaths of seven legislators.
The instinctual system was that mysterious.
Lole’s presence cut off this possibility, earning those three layers of Abyss Territory.
"During the mid-war counterattack, I single-handedly held off four Fifth Tier demons for five years, so I want the forty-first layer of the Abyss." Yasen followed, saying.
"In the war..."
"I..."
The allocation of the Abyss Territories proceeded orderly.
After two rounds of allocation, it wasn’t long before all except the seventy-second layer of the Blood Sea Abyss were claimed.
There was no way around it; the geography of the seventy-second layer of the Abyss was simply too unique.
The wizards present were at the pinnacle of the Wizard Alliance and lacked nothing of value in demon materials.
The position of apprentice witchcraft and the wisdom crystals of potentially born geniuses, as well as connections, were their goals.
All of these required enough territory to give birth to enough mortals to have hope of obtaining them.
"It seems everyone has a lot of opinions about the Blood Sea Abyss. I’ll mark the seventy-second layer as Alliance territory, and let’s divide the twenty-fourth layer instead." Seeing no one speak up, Francis immediately said.
"Just right, I’ve just been assigned one layer of Abyss Territory, so give me the twenty-fourth layer as well." Ada’s eyes lit up and she immediately tried to pull Francis’s newly condensed twenty-fourth layer of the Abyss towards herself.
The result was that as soon as the red energy thread touched the map model, it was shattered by a layer of purple barrier.
"Theo, what do you mean by this?" Dragon Bear Legislator Ada, seeing this, glared at the elderly man in a purple robe standing not far from her. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"Your contributions aren’t that great, and you’re not satisfied with two layers?" Theo raised an eyebrow, asking back.
"I single-handedly held off five Fifth Tier demons’ encirclement and held them for two years; you call that not a great contribution?" Ada asked angrily.
"Heh, after two years if Eddy hadn’t come with seventeen legislators to save you, I wouldn’t know if you’d be safe, but at least half of the sixteen bloodline legislators following you would be dead." Theo smirked, "You call that a contribution?"
"I..."
Not only around Dragon Bear Legislator Ada, but arguments started to arise in several other places as well.
"Jerald, you did nothing, why do you get three layers of the Abyss?"
"Yasen, you caused the Battle of the Abyss, and you still have the audacity to take one layer of the Abyss?"
"Ugo, you just dragged along one Fifth Tier Blood Demon throughout, how do you have the nerve to take a layer and a half of the Abyss?"
"I..."
Legislators who made mistakes during the war or whose contributions did not match the size of the Abyss they claimed were called out.
Some legislators gave back part of the map models as appropriate, some argued their case, and some stood their ground regardless of reason.
Seeing Yasen’s unpleasant expression, Lole was about to hand over his acquired Abyss map. He frowned and addressed Duke, the legislator in a blood-red Wizard Robe with sharp hawk-like eyes, who had raised the objection:
"If it was you on the Murphy Continent back then, could you guarantee to stop Hisham from destroying the Abyssal Seal?"
Hisham’s destruction of the Abyssal Seal was destined, not even Francis could stop it.
From the moment he infused Dark Divine Power into the Earth’s veins, the outcome was sealed.
"I couldn’t." Seeing that it was Lole, not Yasen, refuting, Duke frowned, hesitated for a moment, then sighed and said, "Fine, leave it at that."
If he really wanted to argue back, he still had words to say, such as ’If I were in Yasen’s situation, although I couldn’t stop Hisham either, I wouldn’t shamelessly claim the Abyss.’
But out of fear of Lole’s Meteor Technique Traits and his ability to freely enter and exit the Deep Layer Space, he truly didn’t want to provoke this rising star.
After all, it was just one layer of the Abyss, and Yasen’s performance after awakening was indeed worthy of this layer of the Abyss. He immediately switched targets and looked elsewhere.
Others who were eyeing Yasen also shifted their attention as a result.
The traits of the Great Meteor Technique had extreme terrifying deterrence, and no one was willing to clash with Lole for small benefits.
"Speaker Lole, thank you." Yasen stopped the action of giving away the map model, looked at Lole, and with a complex feeling, expressed his gratitude.
Honestly, he had considered that Lole might help him in the future long ago.
But when that future truly arrived, he was still in a daze.
This layer of the Abyss was very important to him.
The territory he accumulated on the Murphy Continent was basically gone, now he had only a kingdom’s territory on the Milton Continent.
Given his status, he could get a piece of imperial territory from other continents, but a mere ten-thousand-mile territory was obviously not enough to support much research.
The time he took to break through the Sixth Ring would thus be extended by a lot.
The only good news is that he possesses a Marvel to repair the wear and tear of the Fire Element Origin Container, giving him a much longer lifespan than others.
Even if he lost this layer of the Abyss, there would be an opportunity in the future to slowly accumulate experience over time and break through to the Sixth Ring.
As for now, with Lole’s help, as long as the Abyss can indeed be transformed to suit mortal survival, his accumulation of experience will progress rapidly.
"You’ve helped me so much before; isn’t it only natural for me to assist you?" Lole said, his lips curling slightly as he looked at Yasen.
