Wizard: Adventures in Two Worlds-Chapter 608 - 25: Becoming Stronger
A few burnt, carbonized corpses lay on the ground, and from their twisted postures, it was clear they suffered extreme agony before death.
Burned to death,
without a doubt one of the most miserable ways to die.
Charles sat solemnly at the head, his face sullen and silent, while the apprentices below had varied expressions.
"Tutor."
His apprentice Claude spoke, voice tinged with sobs:
"Langman was always so obedient to you, worked diligently for years, and now he’s killed just like that!"
"Please, tutor, please seek justice for my son!"
"Senior." A female voice quietly asked:
"Langman was an official apprentice at the academy, even if a wizard killed him, there should be consequences, right?"
"No." Claude shook his head:
"The academy’s inspection team said Langman was trading points privately, violating regulations, so Lynn won’t be punished for killing him."
"How could this be!" Someone looked displeased:
"Even if a wizard is powerful, they can’t just kill people as they please. After all, how many apprentices in the academy haven’t done what Langman did?"
"If you ask me, it’s just that the inspection team doesn’t want to offend Wizard Lynn!"
The Wizard World is strictly hierarchical.
An advanced wizard apprentice merely needs to offer some compensation for killing a mortal; it’s the same for a wizard killing an apprentice.
But the academy certainly can’t allow wizards to act so recklessly and will impose some penalties.
Otherwise, all apprentices would end up as experiments for the wizards.
"Lynn isn’t even seventeen yet and has already become an official wizard, with a very likely future advancement to the Second Ring." Someone murmured:
"No one wants to offend such a person, not even the inspection team."
"So Langman dies in vain?"
"..."
"I heard Wizard Lynn attended a small gathering with several of Charlotte’s wizards, and there were even broadcasts of the meeting."
?
The atmosphere in the room suddenly tensed.
Charlotte, the youngest disciple of the academy’s founder, Third Ring Wizard Akasha, is expected to advance to the Second Ring within a decade and is considered the best candidate as the next headmaster.
His clique consists only of those with the most outstanding talent and power among wizards, and people like Charles have no chance to join.
The apprentices present, even though they rely on Charles, know exactly who they can and can’t afford to offend.
"Heh..."
Charles chuckled lightly and shook his head, saying:
"Has Luo Ye not arrived yet?"
"No."
Claude shook his head, his expression gloomy.
Luo Ye was a disciple Charles took on twenty years ago, with outstanding talent and potential to become an official wizard.
Charles originally cultivated him as an heir.
However, once Luo Ye became an advanced wizard apprentice, he gradually distanced himself from Charles and recently has not shown up at their gatherings several times.
"When a big tree falls, hares scatter, never mindful of the shelter the tree once provided from wind and rain."
Charles closed his eyes and sighed:
"Forget it!"
"Lynn is an official wizard, and with the favor of Wizard Charlotte, there’s nothing even I can do."
"Who were the man and woman when Langbo died?"
"Two itinerant apprentices from Vier Town, not from the academy." Someone stepped forward and said:
"They probably know there’s no good outcome in offending us, so they’ve already delved into the Abyss Rift, and dare not show their faces easily."
"Oh!" Charles raised an eyebrow:
"Lynn helped them, and they never thought of seeking refuge?"
"They tried, but were chased away." The other person shrugged:
"Wizard Lynn wasn’t interested in them." 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
"Langbo’s death cannot be in vain." Charles nodded in understanding:
"First, kill those two, as for what follows..."
"We’ll talk about it later."
"Yes!"
The people responded.
Watching everyone leave one by one, the plain expression on Charles’ face instantly turned somber.
"A bunch of ingrates!"
He spent over a hundred years nurturing those around him; their gatherings used to be so lively, but recently they have become increasingly desolate, with many not even showing up, and those who do come with shifting glances.
"Lynn..."
"Hmph!"
With a cold snort, he slowly closed his eyes:
"Everything is determined by strength. I had lost hope before, but now with the opportunity before me, I must at least give it a try."

Alchemy Room.
Lynn twisted his body, surrounded by flying sparks and encircled by flames, his body gradually taking on the image of a Fire Scale Flood Dragon.
"Hiss..."
He spat out a snake’s tongue, hissing, as a faint, mysterious glow appeared over his serpent body.
Ghost Fire!
After this period of cultivation, he had successfully refined Ghost Fire as his own and could manipulate it at will.
"Indeed, Ghost Fire has almost no effect on the physical form, but fortunately, it can slightly enhance my spiritual power, which is also beneficial for cultivating the Great Flame Witch Vein."
Lynn’s thoughts turned as he controlled the Ghost Fire to float back and forth:
"If someone intends to attack me with a Spirit Secret Technique, they first have to penetrate the Ghost Fire’s defense."
"Heh..."
"For wizards who haven’t cultivated in spiritual witchcraft, refining Ghost Fire is indeed of little use."
"But I’m different!"
Lynn’s eyes snapped open, and he exhaled sharply.
A strand of blue flame spewed from the mouth of the Fire Scale Snake, intertwining with that ethereal Ghost Fire.
Sea Heart Demon Flame!
This was a flame he had refined in the past, not even reaching a tier but usually used beneath an alchemy furnace.
"The Flame Heart is a method of the Fourth Tier and even the Fifth Tier, far more than just refining flames."
"Fusion of flames is also its ability!"
"Merge!"
Lynn whispered, and the Sea Heart Demon Flame and Ghost Fire began to merge at a visibly fast speed.
Soon.
A brand new flame appeared in the room.
"Hmm..."
"It has the quality to burn souls and the effect of melting potions; this fusion can be described as perfect."
But it wasn’t finished yet.
Lynn twisted his body, a few sparks drifting from within him to converge into a fiery cloud toward the flames.
Demon Fire!
The lifebound flame of the Fire Scale Flood Dragon.
This Demon Fire possesses exceptionally terrifying lethality, and once it touches you, it rapidly destroys any flammable material.
Wood, stone, flesh, metal...
Even a knight’s Battle Aura, or a wizard’s Magic Shield, can fuel the energy of Demon Fire to burn.
"Crackle..."
Accompanied by a series of muffled sounds, fusion began again.
Days later.
Sitting cross-legged in the center of the quiet room, Lynn looked at the floating flame before him with a hint of a smile.
"Not bad!"
"Now, my Flame Affinity has nearly doubled from when I first became a wizard."
"Although it’s only the First Ring Early Stage, the power of my Fire Magic is comparable to the First Ring Middle Stage. If I transform into a Fire Scale Flood Dragon, my combat strength briefly equals the First Ring Late Stage."
"Unfortunately, while the Flame Heart can meld flames, it can’t allow me as a First Ring to control Second Tier Flames, and my cultivation is too low, the burst strength strong but unsustainable..."
Shaking his head, Lynn got up and left; today was the day to deliver potions again.
Grover lay as usual on the soft chair.
"I hear two people connected to you are being pursued."
He took the potion handed to him and casually asked:
"Don’t plan to intervene?"
"Nothing to do with me." Lynn shook his head.
He had helped a brother and sister at the time, who even wanted to repay and depend on him, but he did not agree.
Now that they are in trouble, he still doesn’t plan to intervene.
Unexpectedly, Isaiah, who originally operated in Vier Town, somehow ended up here, and needs to meet him today.
There weren’t many apprentices from the same academic period with whom Lynn had a good relationship, and those who did either died or vanished.
Now when counted,
only Isaiah remains.
Classmates?
Lynn gently shook his head, took the necessary herbs for the next month, bade farewell, and left.
