Witch, Fireball and the Evil God of Steam-Chapter 871 - 172: The End of Civilization
The meteor formed by data eventually did not fall.
Because Ethan disappeared.
Another occurrence beyond the understanding of the God of Truth happened—He witnessed with His own eyes a hand reaching out from the illuminated computer screen, pulling Ethan into the screen.
In theory, Ethan did not escape but became one with this ubiquitous data and code. He was everywhere, becoming part of this information repository. Yet, He still could not fathom how Ethan managed to obtain some permissions of this world and even brought in things that did not belong to this space.
However, no matter what, He must immediately conduct a thorough inspection, leaving no corner unchecked, to find and remove the stubborn virus hidden within His information repository.
For the first time, the God of Truth experienced the human emotion of "regret." If He had known Ethan's potential danger in advance, He would have done everything in His power to keep the virus outside the information library.
But now, even if He discovered the whereabouts of this virus, many data might not be recoverable.
On the other side, Ethan finally understood the situation in front of him completely.
What appeared before him at this moment was not the real Old Ba, which could be surmised from His not immediately dragging him into discussions about Bazatous Legendary Film's development plans for the Empire's future ten years. The seven-eyed avatar and everything else he was witnessing were originally existing records in this information repository, now converted and interpreted in a way he desired.
The planet pulsating like a heart in the distance was the Old God Bazatous and the 67 destroyed planes, also likely the location of Bazatous' true form. From this angle, looking into the distance was indeed bizarre and terrifying, with those eyes even larger than planets peeking out from the cosmic darkness.
In fact, during the Old God's triple trials, Ethan never truly touched Bazatous' true essence.
The dream stained by flesh and the meeting arranged under the blood waterfall by Old Ba might just be situated upon one of those pulsating "hearts."
"Old Ba, I would like to learn more."
Without a mouse and computer screen, Ethan could only retrieve more data through voice input.
"As you wish."
The seven-eyed woman smiled.
Subsequently, the flesh-stained planet in the distance began to recede at a speed visible to the naked eye. As the red fungal blanket encapsulating the planet's exterior receded, the traces left by human civilization gradually revealed themselves.
The buildings that had been consumed and infected began self-repair, and the dead planet showed signs of life once again.
There appeared humanoid beings.
Their appearance differed from humans, sharing the same stylistic mold as the seven-eyed woman incarnation of Bazatous. It was a highly advanced civilization; they broke through the planet, extending the seeds of civilization to other planets within their star system, developing and constructing upon them, illuminating the surfaces, connecting their existence in the dark universe.
Subsequently, some unfamiliar concepts began to flood into Ethan's mind.
Kania and the Epoch of All Life.
A civilization that has perfected in biology, genetic engineering, and organic fusion technology. They didn't rely on traditional metals and chips but drove society by manipulating a type of energy known as "bio-source essence." Essence, in essence, is a spiritual bioenergy based on a life network, whose intensity and complexity are directly related to the number and quality of biological species within the region.
The Kania People are keen on exploration, becoming obsessed with creating new forms of life when exploration comes to a halt. They regarded gene sequences as poetry and ecosystems as temples.
And these transformations soon extended to their inhabited cities.
Initially, their transformation of inorganic matter was hugely successful. They transformed their living places into enormous living structures that breathe, grow, and self-repair. Their means of transportation were genetically enhanced biological steeds or living ships. They communicated telepathically via the essence network, sharing knowledge and emotions. Their medical technology could reshape flesh, cure any disease, and even fuse different species' advantages to create new "perfect" forms.
The gargantuan flying object breaking through the planet that Ethan saw was the pinnacle product of biotechnology and "essence," referred to by the Kania People as "Leviathan." 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
However, like all civilizations faced after reaching great prosperity, the flourishing of biotechnology brought about population explosion, resource shortages, and other societal issues, also sparking insatiable desires among the Kania People. They started interstellar biological colonization and transformation, "optimizing" every encountered primal ecosystem into what they perceived as more "advanced" models.
The Kania People always believed that "evolution" would resolve every predicament they encountered, which had been the development mode of their civilization until Leviathan finally touched upon a barrier during outward exploration—the Kania fleet noticed some sort of invisible barrier thwarting their advance.
It was a darkness that even light couldn't penetrate, and any fleet venturing into it would lose communication, leaving their encounters within unknown.
Quietly descended another crisis as the Kania People strived to have their civilization's seeds penetrate the darkness.
Their insatiable craving for "evolution" and the countless biological species created via essence energy bred an existence even they could not comprehend.
