"Enough!"

The shadow could no longer stand it. In this interrogation room, it felt an unprecedented humiliation in its career as the "Demon King."

A dignified "Demon King," a being that made the humans of that world tremble in fear, could possibly be involved in a brawl between civilians here, and even face compensation claims from two residents.

"Ha, humans, if you intended to humiliate me here, you've succeeded. Now, kill me or chop me as you please! No need to pretend anymore, bring out your instruments of torture!"

"What do you take this place for?"

The Other Shore reprimanded, "Torture has long been abolished, we now act according to the law! Since you're so tough, why don't you voluntarily confess your crimes?"

"I intend to destroy this pathetic world, how about it? Is this crime enough to sentence me to death?"

The "Demon King" retorted defiantly.

"Very well, how do you plan to execute your crime?"

"How to execute? Uh, just this, that..."

The atmosphere in the interrogation room instantly dropped to freezing point, even Valerie gave a skeptical look toward the Other Shore.

She now couldn't help but wonder if this "Demon King," as the Other Shore and Rowena claimed, really destroyed a town?

Immediately afterwards, she felt a pleading glance from the shadow.

What are you looking at me for?

I'm not the one trying to destroy the world; do you expect me to help you come up with a crime plan?

Seeing Valerie unwilling to help, the shadow was rather irate—what kind of country is this anyway? Why does it have to come up with its own charges and crime plans?

Having been the source of all evil, it felt for the first time in its life that being convicted could be so challenging.

The shadow made a firm decision, glaring maliciously at the Other Shore, "Anyway, it's like that, you should know, right!"

"Like what? Explain clearly!"

"Just like that, ding lingguang lang, boom, buka! And then the world ends."

"What does 'buka' mean?"

"How should I know! Why do you have to ask me about everything?"

The breathing in the interrogation room became increasingly rapid, with both parties appearing fierce, feeling as though their heads were about to explode.

Valerie sensed the tense atmosphere in the air and, to prevent the Imperial Knight Order from being embroiled in a scandal about assaulting suspects during interrogations, she quickly tried to de-escalate the situation, "So besides destroying the world, what other crimes have you committed?"

Simultaneously, she understood the Other Shore's frustration.

Assaulting a suspect wasn't for coercive interrogation, it was just so infuriating.

"I defeated your hero and trampled on his dignity!"

The shadow, pondering deeply, decided to steer the conversation back to more familiar territory. After all, the topic of world destruction was too grand and needed careful planning.

"Can I understand this as you assaulted someone and insulted their dignity?"

"Yes."

The shadow proudly folded its arms.

"So you admit that you caused the hero boy to be hospitalized?"

"Certainly."

"Knight Commander, this makes it easier for us. We can detain it on charges of intentional harm until the other party wakes up."

"No!"

"What now?"

"No means no!" 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

The Other Shore's face turned red as she insisted, her sense of justice wouldn't allow her to imprison the "Demon King" for this because according to the Royal Hospital's doctors, the main cause of the hero boy's coma was that one magical cannon. If anyone had to be detained for it, then none of them on the ship could escape responsibility.

"What's wrong with you, woman? Are you deliberately picking a fight!"

The shadow grew so angry its body swelled, raising its tone, "Fine, then I'll give you a good reason right now!"

No sooner had it spoken than it lunged at the Other Shore.

This might be the most unprepared battle of its life; it aimed to grab the Other Shore's face and pull her hair in anger.

I'll just assault an officer! Surely for assaulting an officer, you can arrest me!

Just as the shadow lunged forward, the Other Shore sensed an unusual aura, a greater sense of crisis than the threat of having her face grabbed or hair pulled, coming from behind her.

Where there should have been a wall, beyond which there was nothing.

Amid the chaos, the Other Shore heard a sound from the other side of the wall, a voice calling its name.

That voice was tearful and filled with helplessness.

The Other Shore immediately realized it was some kind of directional summoning ritual, having specially consulted Ethan and Lindong about such rituals, one of the relics left by the Old Gods.

Surpassing the concepts of time and space, as long as the standards of the ritual were met, it could allow the Old Gods to briefly appear before them, becoming humanity's only means to catch the attention of the Old Gods.

And the person who set up the array was calling for the "Demon King."

No name, only this specific ominous title.

"Enough, I've had enough, oh Demon King, if you can hear me, I am willing to offer my soul. Please, end all of this."

It was evident that the shadow also heard the call from beyond the door, its aura changed dramatically, no longer filled with the defeat felt from commoners and stray cats, its extended hands veered off course, reaching toward the unseen door behind it.

"If you don't want to get hurt, step aside, I've changed my mind."

The voice at close range was perhaps closer to its original tone, surprisingly sounding more like a female's voice, overlapping with the helpless plea from beyond the door.

This was an evil deity summoning event unfolding right before her eyes; the Other Shore grabbed the shadow's arm that was about to be drawn inside by the door.

The next moment, her vision distorted, dizziness ensued, but these were normal reactions.

This indicated she was undergoing a dimension transfer process.

What followed was a strong stench of blood, so intense it felt like being immersed in a corpse processing plant.

It was an old house, with only dim gas lighting for illumination.

Silence lasted less than ten seconds before the chaotic noises flooded in from behind the door.

"There's another one here!"

With the shout came the sound of a blade piercing flesh, followed by gunshots outside, a small figure, draped in a blood-soaked cloak, was kneeling on the ground surrounded by 14 lifeless bodies arranged in a particular way outlining the summoning ritual.

It was a child who appeared just over ten years old, her eyes completely lost of focus, clenching a coin in her hands as she fervently prayed.

Footsteps approached the house.

Summoned by the door's call, the shadow took the blood-stained coin from the puppet-like girl.

"I heard your prayer."

The shadow stood in front of the girl, blocking the ever-nearing footsteps.

The intruders kicked open the wooden door with ease, donned in uniform, armed with guns equipped with blades, the blades already stained with blood, yet in the instant they saw the shadow, the smiles froze on their faces.

"How is that possible?!"

"Why is it here?"

"Run, run!"

The terrified gunmen fled in disarray, stumbling over the bodies in the hallway and tumbling down the stairs.

The shadow maintained its bloated state to appear more threatening.

But in reality, this was not a good time.

If the other members of the Hero Squad were present, it wouldn't stand a chance against them in its current state.

It could only hope these cowardly and timid humans would be as terrified as before and flee from this town.

"Hide."

It looked down at the girl condescendingly.

However, the worst-case scenario had materialized.

An unprecedented wave of energy enveloped this town, everyone heard the roar from the sky, and when the Other Shore glimpsed the airship fleet in the sky, she was almost frozen on the spot.

The Golden Fleet.

Identical to the Empire's pride, the golden vessels hovered over the town, their magical cannons already locked onto the town.

This was a trap.

The Other Shore gradually comprehended everything.

The Golden Fleet never intended to give the troops in the town a chance to retreat. Before anyone could react, red beams rained down like a storm.

Standing on the deck of the Golden Fleet's flagship, a person looked down upon the town engulfed in flames.

"With this, the story of the Demon King and the hero is completely over."
