Chapter 1096: Chapter 960: Chaos in the Forest

Taiger Forest.

This largest Monster Forest in the Human Realm, to this day, like the rest of the Human Realm, has plunged into chaos.

"Roar..."

"Gra..."

The occasional sounds of roars and howls echoed through the massive forest, making it impossible to tell whether these sounds came from the Demons of this ancient Monster Forest, or from the invaders from the outside world.

Todays’ Taiger Forest no longer hosts only Demons that wander within; numerous Refined Demons and occasionally appearing Demon Infants now roam inside, seemingly forming another force that confronts the Demons of the forest, roaming endlessly.

Whenever a Demon and a Refined Demon encounter each other, they inevitably roar at one another and pounce into a battle.

Such skirmishes occur constantly within Taiger Forest, making the daily life in this world’s largest Monster Forest exceedingly bloody and violent.

This being said, it might not have had much impact on the jungle law of Taiger Forest. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

This has always been a world of survival of the fittest; even without the emergence of Refined Demons and Demon Infants, the Demons here would still engage in combat, hunt each other, prey on each other, and fight over territory, it’s either you eating me or me eating you.

From this perspective, the appearance of Refined Demons and Demon Infants is merely a new addition to this survival of the fittest jungle. Truth be told, life may not have changed here at all.

Of course, the arrival of Refined Demons and Demon Incants has indeed altered Taiger Forest’s ecology.

This may not be apparent in a short term, but given time, a great change to the ecological chain of Taiger Forest is inevitable.

By then, Taiger Forest may be ruined.

Luckily, that is something for the future.

For the moment, Taiger Forest continues its routine life of survival of the fittest, without significant changes.

The only difference is that in this Taiger Forest, there are not only Refined Demons and Demon Infants as invaders.

"Master, look down there."

When Shane, along with Lasha, Lilith, and Merica, rode the great Black Dragon into Taiger Forest, You Lin suddenly seemed to notice something and spoke with a voice that echoed directly in the mind.

"That’s..."

Shane instinctively lowered his head and looked toward the forest below, then squinted his eyes.

"That’s... Dead spirits...!?"

Merica also looked down, exclaiming.

"...And Magic Life."

Lasha was also steadily gazing below and only spoke calmly after a moment.

Upon closer inspection, below Taiger Forest, beneath the sea of trees, there appeared beings other than Demons and Refined Demons.

That was an army of the undead and a legion of Magic Life forms.

"Huh..."

"Huh..."

Like zombies or ghouls, rotting and tattered corpses shuffled slowly through the woods, with Death Qi rolling off them.

A group of people cloaked in black also moved through the woods; some moved with the army of the undead, while others headed toward a particular direction, resembling ghosts in the night.

"The undead and Magic Life... is it?"

Shane murmured aloud.

He knew, outside the Kingdom, around all places of the Human Realm, besides the ravaging Refined Demons and Demon Infants, there were indeed undead armies and troops of Magic Life running rampant.

Their numbers can rival those of the Refined Demon Army and Demon Infant Army that once could assault all forces and cities of the Human Realm.

Their threat is no less than that of Refined Demons and Demon Infants, and countless Human Race forces and Human cities have likewise succumbed to them.

Unlike Refined Demons and Demon Infants, they are not remnants of the former [Primordial Demon] forces, but newly released military forces after the establishment of the new [Primordial Demon] by its new leaders, invading the Human Realm and stirring up war.

Many, Shane included, knew that these two forces respectively originated from two critically important leader figures within the new [Primordial Demon].

"The army of the undead surely must be created and awakened by the owner of that Great Spirit Body, right?"

"The legion of Magic Life certainly derives from Danass."

The former is a Necromancer, a Transcend Level Necromancer. With the former High Priest having once assembled an undead army strong enough to campaign across the continent, imagining this Transcend Level Necromancer creating such a vast undead army is not difficult.

The latter specializes in Life Creation Magic, with unmatched achievements in Life Creation Magic; as long as there are enough materials, they can create as many Magic Life forms as they please.

Therefore, these two are considered central figures in the new [Primordial Demon], not only being the core of the new [Primordial Demon] but also the main reason for their advantage in this war.

Due to Shane’s influence, the Kingdom has not yet faced an invasion by undead armies and legions of Magic Life but only suffers from the unmanageable destruction by Refined Demons and Demon Infants.

However, Taiger Forest is a different story.

It is evidently under the influence of the new [Primordial Demon], besides the endless battles between Refined Demons and Demon Infants with the Demons in the forest, the armies of the undead and legions of Magic Life are here, stirring restlessly.

It is not hard to guess who or what their target is.

"It seems the new [Primordial Demon] has no intention of sparing the Elf Country."

Shane voiced these words.

"Are they the enemies invading Elf Country?"

Merica tightened her grip on the Staff of Nature, her gaze towards the undead and Magic Life below filled with unusual indignation.

They intend to harm her kin and homeland, they are her enemies.

Even Merica can’t maintain her usual poise in the face of these beings.

Lasha also calmly shared her thoughts.

"The undead essentially lack any will; like the Refined Demons and Demon Infants, they attack anything outside themselves indiscriminately, viewing all nearby life as enemies."

"However, judging by these undead, they don’t seem to be attacking aimlessly everywhere but are gathering in a very targeted and even organized manner towards one direction."

"If I’m not mistaken, those Magic Life forms must be directing the undead, guiding them to attack specific targets."

This describes the relationship between the undead army and the Magic Life legion.

One side is being directed.

The other side is giving the directions.

This organizational scale greatly reduces the uncontrollability of the undead.

"It must be the systems set up initially by those who created them."

Shane speculated like this.

"Shall we take them out?"

You Lin looked down eagerly, seemingly wanting to unleash a Dragon Breath to reduce those undead and magic life forms to ashes.

"Well..."

Shane was about to express his thoughts when he noticed his sleeve being tugged slightly.

I saw Lilith clutching Shane’s clothing, gently tugging it while pointing in one direction.

Seeing this, Shane was first startled, then understood Lilith’s intent.

"Is something happening over there?"

Shane arched an eyebrow and asked Lilith.

"Uh-huh!"

Lilith nodded repeatedly, confirming Shane’s question.

"Could it be...!?"

Merica seemed to realize something, her expression changing as she suddenly became anxious.

Noticing Merica’s reaction, Shane didn’t hesitate and gave the order directly.

"Let’s go over and take a look."

Following Shane’s command, You Lin, transformed into a Black Dragon, let out a low growl, then flapped her wings, flying towards the direction Lilith pointed.

Along the way, countless roars of refined demons and demons accompanied them, making the atmosphere increasingly sinister.

...

At the same time, in one corner of Taiger Forest, a group of Elves unexpectedly appeared.

They were sprinting through the forest, seemingly protecting something, fleeing in a panic.

Leading them was Carol.

No, it wasn’t just Carol; Genom was also there.

"Quick! A little faster!"

Carol called out urgently to everyone.

"Te... Teacher...!"

Genom was already panting heavily.

In Genom’s arms, something wrapped was being held tightly.

The thing that the Elves were escorting seemed to be this, making them appear somewhat bedraggled and frantic.

"Coming!"

At a certain moment, Carol noticed a sound, immediately turned around, and drew her magic wand, loudly warning.

The other Elves were just about to react when howls came from behind them.

"Ho howl!"

"Gah ow!"

In the savage howls, undead creatures with decayed and tattered appearances moved like agile spiders and apes, either climbing the trees to leap or scurrying across the ground, catching up to Carol and her group with a putrid stench.

Behind these undead, several magic life forms closely followed, issuing commands fiercely.

"We’ve caught up!"

"Stop them!"

"Capture that thing the Elf is holding!"

The magic life forms, cloaked in black robes, issued merciless commands, making the undead even more ferocious.

Thus, the undead charged from behind, roaring, leaping, pouncing towards the Elf girls.

"No way!"

Carol, running in the front, was furthest from the attacking undead, but she was the first to react, immediately swinging her magic wand and casting magic.

"Boom!"

A wall of fire rose from the ground, blocking the shrieking Elf Mages at the front.

The savage undead plunged into the wall of fire, turning into blazing figures, emitting ghostly wails while struggling to continue their attack.

But, at this moment, the other Elf Mages also raised their magic wands and cast spells.

In an instant, ice and snow descended from the sky, lightning darted through the forest, and storms and whirling vortices swirled, blocking each of the undead.

"Genom!"

Carol held up her magic wand, casting spells while shouting to Genom who was holding the parcel.

"You go first! Take it back to the Elf Country!"

Upon hearing this, Genom was shocked and terrified.

"I... I don’t want to!"

Genom shook her head desperately.

She didn’t want to go back alone, nor did she want to leave everyone behind and escape by herself.

But Carol yelled at her.

"There are too many enemies! We can’t hold them off for long!"

Meaning, if Genom didn’t leave, then none of those present might be able to leave.

"But... but...!"

Genom was struggling, with tears almost flowing from her pained eyes.

"Listen!" Carol shouted, "Take it back! This is a mission given to us by Her Majesty and the Nuadra Goddess!"

Under Carol’s loud rebuke, Genom could only retreat while crying.

Finally, Genom clenched her teeth, turned around, and left at speed.
